I'd waste a ridiculous amount of hours trying to climb up it with my socks on. New daily exercise routine!

[–]dag96 20 points21 points ago

[–]missC08[S] 16 points17 points ago

That is just perfect.

[–]Zimmerman17 4 points5 points ago

Phil Galfond, professional poker player, had one in his New York apartment. He mentioned that climbing up it in socks was, indeed, difficult.

[–]tedstyle 2 points3 points ago

You know the guy that owns it slides down for work every morning with a frown simply because of the fact he has to go to work. I want to see that picture.

[–]usernamenottakenwooh 0 points1 point ago

I had fun once, it was too brief.

[–]UnknownErmine 2 points3 points ago

Yess, id do that everyday. Unfortunately, this would take away walking around in the nude... :(

[–]griter34 0 points1 point ago

Why are there even stairs?

[–]rodtang 1 point2 points ago

They're slightly easier to use when drunk.

[–]Amateur_Ninja 0 points1 point ago

Stairs are next to it. But I would do the same, nonetheless.

[–]BlueWhales -3 points-2 points ago

Those are stairs right beside it, no?

[–]opeth10657 24 points25 points ago

Even one story houses?

[–]pescetto 15 points16 points ago

PfffTT, one story house?! What are we living in Africa now?

[–]missC08[S] -1 points0 points ago

....good one

[–]ONXwat 7 points8 points ago

DONT WORRY, you can still use one to get onto the roof!

[–]missC08[S] 4 points5 points ago

THAT. THAT IS CLEVER.

[–]Bitter_Idealist 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, this'd fit great in my mobile home.

[–]3loodwolf117 36 points37 points ago

Why is this on r/funny

[–]K-A-Y-A 15 points16 points ago

It's just hilarious

[–]laughingplague 5 points6 points ago

I was going to go on a rant about how this is the 100th time this has been reposted. But this is a much better thing to be upset about. This is no even a little bit funny.

[–]i_spin_bubbles 1 point2 points ago

Because it would be real fun tu have that.

[–]EpiceEmilie 1 point2 points ago

Maybe so people don't think it's a serious suggestion and start bitching about how that would be impractical? Just a thought, I really don't know.

[–]packerbacker1221 21 points22 points ago

I'd mention the AMA with the guy who's house had slides instead of stairs, but then I'd have to find it, meaning I'd have to use reddit's horrendous search bar.

[–]eatcrayons -1 points0 points ago

Wow. Those are some of the dumbest questions I have ever seen. An AMA dedicated to questions about a slide. "Ask me questions about my cool slides and inflate my ego by telling me how cool I am and giving me chances to tell stories"

[–]Stabone130 0 points1 point ago

I enjoy searching for things like "system of a down serj guy AMA" and getting 10 pages of memes about that bitch who posted details of her date with that gamer guy.

[–]illmatic707 0 points1 point ago

What if you were drunk trying to get up that shit? Probably just end up sleeping at the bottom with a slice of pizza.

[–]kceb 4 points5 points ago

Did someone say race to the top? One person on the slide with no socks and the other gets the stairs but, with socks on.

[–]im2reel 1 point2 points ago

[–]GronlieNaynd 2 points3 points ago

I want...

[–]jonnyohio 2 points3 points ago

Genius.

[–]Winnafive 2 points3 points ago

So jealous of this. One day...

[–]Ixilary 2 points3 points ago

To be overly serious about this, I actually think this is a great idea. It's just much more convenient than walking down the stairs.

[–]isarahlif 2 points3 points ago

Wanted one of these since this show. Watch from :17 to :20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1DeHkjog8w

[–]Devon64327 2 points3 points ago

Not my house. My staircase is very steep and ends a foot in front of the front door.

[–]MinkOWar 2 points3 points ago

That is an interesting and awkward code violation.

[–]ohaithere123098 1 point2 points ago

Slide right outside like a scene from Home Alone.

[–]gamaliel64 1 point2 points ago

So a fireman's pole for your house, then. As an added bonus, it doubles as a stripper pole, should you ever need one.

[–]goffyrider2 2 points3 points ago

That's true, every house should have smoke detectors

[–]Ephixia 1 point2 points ago

This house belongs to Scott A. Jones the founder of ChaCha as well as 8 or so other companies. He is an inventor/multi-millionaire who made bank off of patents and building companies. His house was featured on an episode of MTV's Teen Cribs. I can't find a link to the episode but from what I remember his house also had

  • A waterfall shower that ran something absurd like 300 gal/min (recycled water of course)
  • An idea room that was completely covered in whiteboards (ceiling included)
  • A work room that contained a radio shack worth of electronic components as well as an 8 monitor computer work station with built in exercise bike.
  • A 50 foot aquarium
  • Secret bookcase passages between his kids rooms (psst pull the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix book)
  • Big lion statues guarding the entrance to his house
  • A movie theater
  • LCD security camera displays everywhere.
  • A ipad size remote (before there were ipads) that controlled everything in his house.

[–]dahvzombie 1 point2 points ago

Thing would take up a solid quarter of my tiny ass apartment...

[–]Jerrits 0 points1 point ago

I agree. Every house should have hard wood floors!

[–]NoOneToughtOfThis 0 points1 point ago

this will be great for my mobile home.

[–]WhoFan 0 points1 point ago

Think of the amount of wood put into making this. (the whole room even)

[–]kataze 2 points3 points ago

Mahogany, too.

[–]theoldpretender 0 points1 point ago

until you have to move a sofa

[–]tickleberries 0 points1 point ago

I would never sell that house!

[–]Mcflexington 0 points1 point ago

Wouldn't it hurt your ass when you landed because of dat drop?

[–]Potater757 0 points1 point ago

Walls?

[–]BokehBurgher 0 points1 point ago

I actually have one of these, they're not as cool as they look. In my house it serves as a glorified laundry shoot. Sorry to rain on anyone's parade.

[–]robottower -1 points0 points ago

making it still look classy with the wooden polished slide

[–]seanzy61 0 points1 point ago

Why isn't this more popular, it is so god damn simple.

[–]Master_Choda 0 points1 point ago

A second story?

[–]emann43 0 points1 point ago

Problem is, the first thing a two year old would try to do is climb over the side lol.

[–]xtkbilly 0 points1 point ago

Look at how unused those stairs are.

[–]beckzilla 0 points1 point ago

do want

[–]porkchameleon -1 points0 points ago

Every house should have a man to destroy shit like that when it makes it's way indoors.

Fuck you, you cunt!

[–]braaain -1 points0 points ago

This looks like those stairs in Maniac Mansion

[–]teebthedweeb 1 point2 points ago

The Kid in me wants to build that but the Adult in me doesn't have the money.

[–]cardboard_cat 0 points1 point ago

Times like this make me wish I wasn't a one-story-house owner. I'm such a fucking peasant!

[–]alibarker 0 points1 point ago

I'm putting this in my house. I don't even have a second floor.

[–]Idrathernotpickaname 0 points1 point ago

As an ex-mover, all I see is these steps being a nightmare to carry any large furniture to the upper level. The banister would get scratched to shit and the home owner would get pissed off, but not really say anything to the movers while they're there. They wouldn't give a tip and the boss would say that a customer called yelling about some hand rail as soon as they get back to the shop. Then they'd say they did all they could to protect it, but the steps were an unimaginable pain in the ass.

Tip your movers...

[–]mailboxrumor 0 points1 point ago

I was gonna say bounce house but this wins.

[–]Color_blinded 0 points1 point ago

I agree. I lived in a house without stairs once; do you have any idea how hard it is to get breakfast in bed when you have to carry the tray up the slide?

[–]bigman250 0 points1 point ago

Ok is there a subreddit for awesome architecture I haven't found yet?

[–]CGeeryProjected 0 points1 point ago

YES

[–]Fatpplrfunny 1 point2 points ago

I bet there would still be that one douchebag that slides down while you're still climbing up

[–]ErroneousDylan 0 points1 point ago

Yes! Stairs!

[–]afrosaurous 0 points1 point ago

How would one climb that ?

[–]MontegoBarbados 0 points1 point ago

I went to film school with a guy that lived in a mansion in Hancock Park, which is the neighborhood you actually see when you see Beverly Hills in the movies. His house is the most elaborate house I've ever been in, outside of Hearst Castle. The main kitchen was absurdly, unnecessarily large. Its square footage alone could easily fit an average house.

The mansion had a slide that ran alongside the main stairwell, but it went through parts of walls, so you slid through a tunnel. Also, the men's guest bathroom had urinals. I never saw urinals in a private home before.

The guy threw parties all the time, and smoked high-grade weed constantly. He rolled joints the thickness of my index finger. Many of our fellow classmates considered themselves veteran pot smokers, until they partied with him. One guy said "Man, I smoke a lot, I mean a LOT, but what I smoke in a month, he smokes in DAY."

Millionaires get high on a whole different level.

[–]Razzl 0 points1 point ago

Jude Law would have had some real problems with this.

[–]ItsBuck 0 points1 point ago

If I were ever a rich I would do this. Then I would brag about my straight pimpin mahogany swirly slide. Where "Im a classy motherfucker" and "Im essentially a 6 year old" meet in perfect harmony and good taste, creating both the most efficient and most exhilarating way of descending a level since the normal staircase.

[–]dabootzmayne 0 points1 point ago

I'm just trying to imagine leaving a room after an intense argument via the slide. lols

[–]dwn22 0 points1 point ago

http://freshgadgets.nl/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/station-overvecht.jpg Every train station should have this (located in Utrecht, The Netherlands).

[–]Anoxiuh 0 points1 point ago

...mom... Get my slippery pants...

[–]mikelike34 0 points1 point ago

Weeeeeeeeeew!

[–]gmonteith 0 points1 point ago

A smoke detector?

[–]brussels4breakfast 0 points1 point ago

Unless you're wearing high heels.

Besides the fact the slide is a cool idea, that is some beautiful workmanship.

[–]ccrang 0 points1 point ago

why the fuck is this in r/funny?

[–]yesgeorgemay 1 point2 points ago

this picture has been on my laptop for a while, and pretty sure it's the same house!

[–]disco-disco 0 points1 point ago

My slide is made of rich mahogony

[–]sweetdreamers 0 points1 point ago

I wouldn't use the steps anyway!

[–]RamblinBoy 0 points1 point ago

Umm... second floor?

[–]Amateur_Ninja 0 points1 point ago

Now, WHERE DO I BUY THIS?

[–]djwm12 1 point2 points ago

I feel stupid because at first I saw this as a staircase that turned into a slide.

[–]FancyHearingCake 0 points1 point ago

I laughed hysterically at this photo! Thank God it was in r/funny sarcasm

[–]xeonrage 0 points1 point ago

Oh, this again

[–]aztech101 -1 points0 points ago

...those splinters would hurt.

[–]Ryugi 5 points6 points ago

It's polished, not raw.

[–]ricknogers 1 point2 points ago

there really isnt any point in having stairs on the side. Its more fun to run back up the slide

[–]ohaithere123098 1 point2 points ago

Almost there...slip FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK

[–]aazav 0 points1 point ago

In the corporate world in Silicon Valley, those are bad mojo. We out one in at Berkeley Systems right before the company started to tank. Lots of us left for Macromedia, and then a year or so later, Bud Colligan wanted to put in a slide. We all were really scared about the implications. Never did we not go by the slide and think, "at any time, this could kill our company."

[–]less_bians 0 points1 point ago

The person living in this house did a post a while back.

Edit*** Not actually the guy, but this person also has a slide!

[–]Ephixia 0 points1 point ago

No that guy lives in a different house than the one in the picture. He just made a post in response saying his house also had slides.

[–]less_bians 0 points1 point ago

lolz at how you found it necessary to downvote me after correcting me.

[–]Ephixia 0 points1 point ago

We wouldn't want misinformation to get to the top now would we? ...since you liked it so much have another.

[–]irishmafia32 -2 points-1 points ago

I agree, they are very important. http://i.imgur.com/6xm78.png

[–]brain56 0 points1 point ago

Until you wear socks and go down the slide and your feet hit the wood floor and you slide across the floor and faceplant. Then is it a good idea?

[–]ohliamylia 1 point2 points ago

There's padding at the bottom. (Source: HGTV reruns.)

[–]EpicCGD -3 points-2 points ago

My dad wants to add this to are new house were going to get,1 in each bedroom to slide downstairs :D
