Me too. With a J sound. Because when you follow a G with an E or I it makes a J sound.

Also gilded or git or giggle. English has more exceptions than rules.

But the rule is, that the G followed by an I goes soft.

Yeah, which is why I hate English.

It seems like the language and the rules/exceptions behind them really become a basis for defining the character for cultures. But then again, I'm just talking out my ass because I only know a bit of Spanish and English. I love Spanish over English.
