Instant bacon is a reality for me.

At the beginning of the week I cook 3 packs of bacon and then wrap them all up in aluminium foil and put in the fridge.

Then whenever I feel like bacon, I just go to the fridge and get some out. You can reheat it in the microwave in a few seconds or just eat it cold.

The mesmerising effect is pretty odd, isn't it? My favourite of these is the candy-sushi video; somehow it's just... aurally orgasmic.

I believe the weird mesemerising phenomenon is called "ASMR", or it could be something else called "frisson" (I'm not entirely sure of the definitions of those two) - for some examples of similarly distracting videos check out the rather unsurprisingly named /r/ASMR or /r/frisson. I have a similar to reaction to the stuff on /r/ArtisanVideos too.

That's not science. Science is the discipline of making structured, reproducible and easily compared experiments based on a hypothesis. Since the outcome was probably known before performing this demonstration (not experiment), it's not science. At most, it's chemistry, but that would require knowing the reasons for this reaction.
