that applies for everyone

Heh, yeah. It's a flash-point topic in the US right now, and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if the statements the president made were spoken for one reason, all the free publicity.

Of all the people who would boycott them, it would also rally support from new customers. You have to figure that most of the people who are against the company weren't huge customers to start with so the economic impact would be light. In fact, I think the company will end up making more money because of the controversy.

The thing is, the presidents comments weren't anything new. I've had friends (Jewish) tell me quite vehemently of their distaste over bigoted comments directed towards those of the Jewish faith. Although I've never seen the comments in question myself, I've heard about them a few times over the years from different people. shrugs

It's a company that does do good things, but they are behind some pretty crappy organizations as well. They have the right within the law, but so to do those who oppose it. As long as the argument does not escalate to violence then it is truly democracy at work imo.

The biggest "WTF" for me is how black and white everything is. It seems as though businesses have to choose and promote a specific political platform, and it looks as though the trend these says is to be the most politically active organization. Oh. Forgot.... the elections are coming up aren't they?

They are, but the majority of Americans are to caught up in the showmanship of the election to actually vote in mass for change.

It's sad, but so many people want our nation to go into a different direction, but instead of taking a chance on a third party candidate, they will continue to vote for the same broken people thus supporting the same broken system.

Although there are small pockets of the population who are showing up to vote for change, it is generally local political positions and not big federal government spots.

Only in 'MERICA would the hottest topic involve a fast food joint.
