This is not the ideal way to execute a fireman's carry! Bending at the waist is bad and will make it very difficult and dangerous to pick up a heavy person. Note that they might be unconscious, so they might feel like floppy, dead weight.

Instead, place your feet two shoulder-widths apart and bend at your knees (like a squat). Lower yourself to the point that that your shoulder is at their hip. Pull their arm over and across your shoulders, behind your head. The goal is to stretch the person out so that you can lay them across your shoulders while your are squatting. When they are loaded onto your shoulders, simply straighten your legs to lift. Now you can easily carry them and you won't throw out your back.

Also, when executing the drop from the top rope, be sure to keep your head tucked in, and use the victim and your shoulder to take the main force of impact. Roll from shoulder to hip to help disperse the impact and protect your legs.
