I already quit watching it, because the story wasn't progressing at all. Since they're keeping the same time frame as actual time, at some point, Ted needs to actually meet their mother. If he doesn't, the kids will be born with no input from Ted at all.

They would never kill off Marshall!! Best thing would be for him and Lily to move on from the group. That's the only way a season 9 would happen.
