I think he'd be more concerned if we got to one billion.

You do realize that r/atheism is a default subreddit, yes?

If he were around, he'd be too busy doing something productive to really care much, I think.

Is spreading free thought and reason to over a million people not productive?

Is that what we do here on reddit?

Sagan wasn't an Atheist though </3

Come now; he clearly was. He didn't self-identify as an atheist, but that was largely due to his misunderstanding of the term. He thought atheism was a certainty that there was no God, not a simple lack of belief. If you look at his commentary on religion, he clearly didn't believe in a deity.

He was a pretty clear Agnostic. He didn't rule out any possibility, as is the case with most scientists, unless proven otherwise.

He was an agnostic atheist.

Seriously, if you think anything else, you're a moron.

If I didn't make it obvious enough from my post, atheists don't rule out the possibility of God, they just don't believe because there's no reason to.

He was both an agnostic and an atheist; he just didn't understand the terminology. If I asked you if my wallet was in my pocket, you would say "I don't know." and that doesn't mean you think that there's no possibility that my wallet is in my pocket, but there'd be no reason for you to believe it was, because you haven't seen my pockets.

If you look at his story of the dragon in his garage, it's obvious that he was an atheist.

Again, an atheist does not "believe there is no god" or rule out the possibility of a god, they just don't currently believe because they haven't been given a reason to.
