Answer: People who dislike getting raped.

This ain't WTF, son. This is a necessity for some women.

[–]skunkzgerald 13 points14 points ago

It's like asking "Who invented floatation devices anyways?"

[–]mothermedusa 3 points4 points ago

This is not a "necessity for some women". It is unfortunately helpful in a very small percentage (mainly war torn areas) of the world where rape is super prominent and often used as a weapon of war. I just feel like this needs to be specified. I don't like fear mongering.

[–]whostolemypancake 8 points9 points ago

Wouldn't that make it a necessity for some women?

[–]mothermedusa -1 points0 points ago

Necessity I think is a strong word. Water, food, anti-rape condom. Helpful perhaps...though i dont really know ow much. By the time they are inside the woman has already been violated/sullied, in some cultures she is in for a world of hurt. I believe placing this item inside a woman should be a LAST resort and final defense. Our focus should be on the social upheaval that creates an unsafe world for these women. an on building immediate support systems and providing education based upon FACTS not FEAR.

[–]whostolemypancake 1 point2 points ago

You need to work on your definition of necessity.

[–]NotoriousADD 1 point2 points ago

Education and social change are necessary, but even if the education system changed right now it would be at least a decade before you'd start to see any change. Cultural change is very slow. Right now, the only defense available to women is the last one.

Anyway, having preventative devices and bringing social change through education are not mutually exclusive.

[–]mothermedusa 0 points1 point ago

THAT is not a preventative device, it is a punishment device. When I said education I was referring to an education campaign in ares where rape is happening at CRAZY rates (war etc), which focuses on immediate preventative measures like never being alone. Since many woman have been attacked when they went along to get food or water. I know people on this thread think I am nuts but those things totally belong in WTF. I am not going to sit here listing the reasons, they are all over the internet in other places from YEARS ago when this debate started. That being said if I was living in a place where people were running around raping women left and right I would have a weapon...this MAY be the one I chose but more likely it would be something that kept them out of my snatch in the first place.

[–]NotoriousADD 4 points5 points ago

You basically just rephrased my comment. I'm not going to argue over semantics.

BTW In actual war-torn places using one of these is a quick way to get shot in the head and dumped in a mass grave or worse.

[–]gogomouth 0 points1 point ago

Agreed, NotoriousADD.

[–]mothermedusa 0 points1 point ago

That's what it was developed for. Not my idea dude.

Answer: People who dislike getting raped.

This. So much

[–]cultured_banana_slug -1 points0 points ago

It's WTF because it's needed at all. Anywhere. WTF human species, WTF.

[–]tomlmitchell 5 points6 points ago

Geniuses, that's who.

[–]gogomouth 5 points6 points ago

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics

And I quote: "It is estimated that a woman born in South Africa has a greater chance of being raped than learning how to read.[51] One in three of the 4,000 women questioned by the Community of Information, Empowerment and Transparency said they had been raped in the past year."

Maybe you want to ask some of those women why things like this exist. I think it's a great device. Women can finally take back some power.

Why is this in WTF?? Why is it getting downvotes? Women have a right to create things like this in efforts to protect what is their own.

[–]cheestaysfly 0 points1 point ago

It's getting downvotes because it doesn't belong here.

[–]Fernxtwo 0 points1 point ago

Can the guy not just wait till he's flaccid and then get away ? or just grab the whole plastic thing and pull it out ?

[–]cheestaysfly 0 points1 point ago

Well yeah, I think that's how it works. The tiny teeth on the inside of it get caught in the skin of rapists' penis, and the entire thing has to be removed surgically. It's supposed to be incredibly painful, so rapist would immediately be concerned with that instead of his victim, giving her time to get away (at least that's the hopeful outcome) .

[–]closetstonerdad 0 points1 point ago

Idc how many rapes you've endured. Mutilating someone's cock should not be an option. Get a goddamn gun. It's not like this doesn't stop them from murdering you with extreme prejudice when you rip their dick to shreds.

[–]gogomouth 0 points1 point ago

Maybe you should only stick your dick in consenting holes if you don't want it getting shred. It's not like non-rapey dicks are getting shredded.

[–]Flexosaurus 1 point2 points ago

Pretty sure a mad rapist would kill a woman wearing this

[–]Berjj 0 points1 point ago

I think that seems pretty fair.

[–]sydmoses 0 points1 point ago

I think this is a pretty sweet idea women can't stop being in fear so much and rapists should lay..

[–]Autumnsprings 0 points1 point ago

Well the image that you posted says Sonette Ehlers. So um... I'ma go with that. If you want the backstory, read gogomouth's post.

[–]wiggen_tree 1 point2 points ago

It says it right there in the image bro, Sonette Ehlers came up with this idea.

[–]TheGreatWalk 1 point2 points ago

rape is a big problem in the country where that was designed.

[–]magtees 0 points1 point ago

That's fucking smart. I'd buy one

[–]Fckyouimawesome 0 points1 point ago

Personally, I don't think it's a bad idea, beside the fact that a women would have to have a tube in her vagina? Can't be very comfortable.

[–]Mack488 -3 points-2 points ago

I don't think this is something that should just be handed out. Your GF gets pissed at you, puts one of these in. You think everything's ok time for make up sex and boom...
