We need some way, akin to carbon dating, for assessing how many thousands of times a file has been reposted. I suggest using OP's file as the benchmark, and the unit of file degradation, or 'image entropy' shall be 1 DoctorTux, or if you'll have me (and I would humbly accept the honor) 1 Kidsturk.

Beyond this point (MrNameless makes an excellent progression to what I hazard to be 1.5 DoctorTuxes) I suggest we advance in units in a comparative scale.

  • 2 DoctorTuxes would have the original image make as much decay again, rendering text unreadable.

  • 3 DoctorTuxes would be a meaningless array of pixels, unrecognizable as a coherent image of any kind.

  • 4 DoctorTuxes would be a miasmic gray

  • 5 DoctorTuxes and the theoretical maximum for this progression would be a white image, as all colors mix perfectly equally, and passing on of an image becomes a ritual not understood by those of the distant future.
