"sorry, I'm Jewish" (i.imgur.com)

This is a rehosted webcomic that utilizes the stereotype of "Jewish people are stingy" for humorous effect. What the hell does that have to do with atheism.

What the hell does that have to do with atheism.
I finally gave up. This isn't a subreddit about atheism anymore. This is a subreddit full of atheists that talk about things tenuously related to religion, or civil rights issues that religious groups vocally oppose.
The only thing this has to do with atheism is probably that an atheist posted the picture.
But I'm not even sure about that.
[–]steviemcfly 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
/r/TrueAtheism is awesome. It's what this place was like before dipshits ruined it.
[–]corporeal-entity 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
Tell me about it. I have a 5 year badge on my other account. I remember what it was like.
[–]Tacota 46 points47 points48 points 20 days ago
Cause the majority of the people in this subreddit just think Atheism is about making fun of other religions. No disrespect to atheists, but this place is just full of people who are jumping on a bandwagon that they don't even understand because they are growing and don't know where they want to belong. Thus, the resulting image of the large group (r/atheism) is fucked up.
[–]Disco_Panda -4 points-3 points-2 points 20 days ago*
No disrespect to atheists, but this place is just full of people who are jumping on a bandwagon that they don't even understand because they are growing and don't know where they want to belong.
Why would anyone take disrespect from that? It's not like it's a gross generalization or anything...
EDIT: This may have been too-thinly veiled sarcasm. If you're starting a post with "No offense, but..." you're probably causing someone some offense. Showing that you know what you're doing shouldn't give you a pass, it probably should make it worse.
[–]Tacota 11 points12 points13 points 20 days ago
Some people might take it that way, ya never know. "Oh man, he's saying crap about r/atheism... he's saying crap about atheism!" To some people, I'm sure "r/atheism" is their "atheism".
[–]nametheoccupation 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
Check out /r/AntiAtheismWatch
[–]Tacota 0 points1 point2 points 16 days ago
That's not what I said though. I meant no disrespect to atheists, but I did mean disrespect to r/atheism. I get what you're saying though an it is true, but it only would have applied if I said, "No disrespect to r/atheism, but..."
Want people to make sure I was only directing the statement to the subreddit.
[–]hoodie92 77 points78 points79 points 20 days ago
I was gonna say. It's a funny joke, and one that has fuck all to do with atheism.
Considering that there are many children of Jewish people who are atheists, but still identify themselves as Jews and keep dietary laws out of tradition (myself being one of them), I'd say that this has even less to do with atheism.
[–]shelbyvillian 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
How hardcore? Just no shellfish and pork or do you only eat products with a hecksher?
[–]hoodie92 7 points8 points9 points 20 days ago
Well I used to only eat kosher meat about 2 years ago. Now I'll eat any meat but rarely pork and never shellfish. Don't care as much as I used to but I still like the traditions and stuff.
[–]Ollieboots -8 points-7 points-6 points 20 days ago
Seriously, why would you do that?
[–]cryo 50 points51 points52 points 20 days ago
The same reason you would uphold other traditions?
[–]mamalujo -3 points-2 points-1 points 20 days ago*
What other kinds of uncomfortable traditions do various cultures uphold then?
If I try thinking of a tradition or a ritual I participate in, I can't think of one for now except sometimes birthday and usually new year EDIT oh right and many have weddings too. So I'm not arguing or disagreeing at all, just curious about what other stuff some avoid/do?
EDIT: editing out 'ppl', as per request ;-)
[–]korvath 13 points14 points15 points 20 days ago
I'm willing to bet many aethiests participate in Christmas, though they don't observe Saturnalia.
[–]dejaWoot 33 points34 points35 points 20 days ago
I don't know; you don't eat dog, or cat, do you? Or termites, or ants? Other cultures do. It's just cultural tradition.
[–]Sloppy1sts -3 points-2 points-1 points 20 days ago
As if I can buy butchered cats and dogs anywhere in America.
[–]dejaWoot 8 points9 points10 points 20 days ago*
And why can't you? There's not really a good reason why the SPCA should be all up in your grill about grilling Dachshund but not an all-beef smokie. If you, or at least the majority of North American society, find the idea of Fido flank unapppetizing or inhumane, you can bet folks in India might feel similarly about 'where's the Beef?' ... and folks in southeast-Asia don't see any thing wrong with a weiner dog weiner.
[–]bspielburg -6 points-5 points-4 points 20 days ago
I'm not sure which part of America you live in, but around here, Chinese restaurants are commonplace.
[–]Sloppy1sts 5 points6 points7 points 20 days ago
Are you making a joke or actually suggesting that you can eat dogs and cats at your local Chinese restaurant?
[–]FlyingGoatee 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
There are chinese restaurants and meat markets in the US that sell a variety of meats, including dog and cat meat. It's no joke, but it's not a bad thing either.
[–]daLeechLord 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
Even if those restaurants served cats and dogs, those dishes would be hella expensive considering that cats and dogs are much more difficult to source that low grade beef or chicken.

How is not eating pork or shellfish fun? I'm not trying to be a dick but I don;t think I keep ANY traditions that aren't strictly just for enjoyment. Why would you limit yourself something because of an old story?
EDIT: Missed a word.
[–]borg88 10 points11 points12 points 20 days ago
My guess is that not eating pork or shellfish was originally good public health advice (in hotter countries when there was no such thing as a fridge) that got codified into religion.
They both have distinctive flavours, so if you have been brought up to think eating them is a bad thing I can imagine you not wanting to. A bit like I don't fancy eating insects even though lots of cultures do.
[–]c00ki3mnstr 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
And why are you criticizing people for their dietary decisions?
It isn't your right or responsibility to impose judgment on something so trivial that concerns their personal lifestyle.
[–]valleyshrew 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
Pigs are as intelligent as dogs. How come you don't eat dogs? Why would you limit yourself?
[–]lovesmasher 10 points11 points12 points 20 days ago
I don't eat dogs because their meat is not offered at my local grocer.
[–]N8CCRG 4 points5 points6 points 20 days ago
We'd have to talking about one charming mother fucking pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charming than that 'Arnold' on Green Acres.
[–]EpicDonutsistaken 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
Currently you're in a subreddit that requires strong evidence for everything they believe in. Got a source for that? And we eat pigs because bacon.

[–]potentiallyoffensive 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago

[–]squigs 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
It's hard to break with these traditions. Bet you're not overly keen of horse meat or frogs legs, for example. That's certainly cultural, but the religious restrictions are as well.
[–]omginternets -10 points-9 points-8 points 20 days ago

[–]Drwhoovez 2 points3 points4 points 19 days ago
I have an Indian friend who won't eat cow or pork. He is atheist. He sees it as a Indian custom rather than a religious requirement.
[–]Pussy_whisperer 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
Not the OP, but I do the same thing- although idk the OPs extent of keeping kosher (I eat anything but pork and shellfish). I don't eat it because having grown up without it- I don't miss it. The same way you guys probably have no desire to try snail, even though escargot is a delicacy in France. It doesnt entice me and i feel that im at no loss or missing out. It's a harmless tradition, so I don't feel bad about it.. Same way I don't observe sabbath laws anymore but I love attending Friday night dinners.
[–]Bogsy 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
Why does that seem so strange to you? As stupid as it may seem to someone who didn't grow up in a distinct and vibrant culture, people find solace and comfort in observing traditions. When those traditions don't infringe on any other group of people's rights (as all Jewish traditions do) then there really is no real reason to question it. Even if you take the religious aspects out of the dietary laws, knowing that your ancestors thousands of years before you observed those same laws is, in my opinion, pretty inspiring.
[–]BogHopper 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
Traditions are rarely appealing.
[–]omginternets 4 points5 points6 points 20 days ago
My point exactly, hence my curiosity. Fear of a god aside, I'm not sure why someone would want to do this.
[–]Faaaabulous 7 points8 points9 points 20 days ago
I suppose when you grow up upholding these traditions, you kinda become accustomed to them and they're less of a nuisance to us than others.
Also, like to mention I'm not Jewish, but grew up in a Buddhist household so I can sorta relate.

[–]CamilloBrillo -2 points-1 points0 points 20 days ago
They're not eating bacon and all the other piggy shit you ingest. That's a good way to avoid cholesterol and heart diseases. A good reason to keep koshering, out of tradition. No?
[–]ramblemn 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
have a loaf of white bread instead, thats a good way to raise your cholesterol and heart diseases.
[–]Sloppy1sts 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
Nobody says he has to eat the shit every day.
[–]Thatevilvoice -1 points0 points1 point 20 days ago
That's not keeping kosher out of tradition, that's avoiding some foods that aren't very healthy.
They're not eating bacon and all the other piggy shit you ingest
Pork products are some of the tastiest easy meat products, they are willing to eat loads of stuff making it easy for even the very poor to keep them. (on a side note my grandparents kept pigs during WW2 in Birmingham)
[–]omginternets 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
Not when you consider that cholesterol isn't really all that it's cracked up to be.
[–]Fenris_uy -2 points-1 points0 points 20 days ago

[–]KindOfANerd 7 points8 points9 points 20 days ago*
Do you eat squid, bugs, or Balut? They're considered good eats in various other parts of the world, so why limit yourself?
Diet is almost entirely based on tradition and culture, dependent on where you grew up and where you live. Someone keeping Jewish dietary laws out of tradition because that's the diet and culture they grew up with is no different from the typical American's refusal to even try squid. They think it's gross because they grew up in a culture that doesn't look at squid as a delicacy, and it doesn't matter to them that a huge number of people think it's great.
[–]omginternets -8 points-7 points-6 points 20 days ago
I eat squid, horse, tripes, etc. I also make it a point to try new foods when I can.
Besides, there's more to keeping kosher than not eating pork and shrimp. I fail to see your point.
[–]KindOfANerd 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
If you fail to see my point then you're pretty terrible at reading.
You don't "fail to see it," you just disagree with it (and made a pretty poor argument against it, at that), and you're doing that thing people do where they disagree with something so they pretend it make no sense at all so they can avoid actually coming up with a counter argument. And, no, your own personal anecdote on how much you love eating different foods is not an argument against how humans approach food, diet, and culture as a whole.
[–]omginternets -3 points-2 points-1 points 20 days ago
Again, not eating certain foods is part of the jewish dietary tradition, but it's not the whole thing.
I understand not liking certain foods, but that's not what we're talking about.
Who cares if they hold to the whole thing? We already established that they're not holding to the "whole thing" since they're not religious to begin with. Stay on topic.
[–]omginternets -4 points-3 points-2 points 20 days ago
He's "keeping with tradition." Those are his words. I am curious as to why. Jewish dietary tradition, again, implies more than just forbidding certain types of foods.
Please stop being pedantic.
[–]KindOfANerd 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
You're not curious. I gave a perfectly good example for why someone would hold to religious dietary traditions despite not holding to that religion. Because it's part of the culture they grew up and lived in, and culture is a huge part of human psychology. You dismissed it because, like, you totally like eat different foods, so it makes no sense at all why no one else would be the same way.
All you're interested in is arguing.

Here's a link to the cartoon on the artist's web site, for those of you who care about giving proper credit and letting cartoonists earn some money from their work.
[–]valleyshrew 17 points18 points19 points 20 days ago
Why would anyone want to give money to someone for a lazy Jew joke that took 1 minute to make? I'm not offended, I just prefer jokes to be creative and original...
[–]Bakyra 4 points5 points6 points 20 days ago
I always link to C&H, but i'd prefer if they let you thumbnail the comic instead of a generic icon. People never click generic icons. I think that's the main reason people dont link directly to C&H.
[–]Phallic 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
I even clicked an ad! Super easy and someone actually gets money for entertaining me, and all I had to do was click on some shit I closed straight after!
[–]ilikepamela 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
For a website as big as that one, it might not be an issue, but with Google ads, when there are invalid clicks they can go as far as ban you and that's the last thing you want for your website. Everytime someone offers me to click an ad on my site I refuse for that matter because I've seen so many people being banned only because their friends and family decided to "help out".
But like I said I don't think it matters for that site since it's so big.
[–]MyUncleFuckedMe -2 points-1 points0 points 20 days ago
I always click these links, but does it still pay out if I have adblock on?
[–]Skrim 4 points5 points6 points 20 days ago
You could set up adblock to show ads on those pages.
[–]solarspeed 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
Most probably, not.
[–]UndeadMantis 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
Webcomic creators are able to sell advertising space for certain prices based on the statistics of their pageviews/unique visitors. By going to the site, you contribute to those statistics, thereby making their site more valuable and more profitable for the site owners. Adblock shouldn't, in theory, directly affect those numbers.
[–]sheitstrom 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
No. Their stats are based on the count the ad broker computes (adense, whomever). When the ad doesn't load, it is as if that person never visited the site (although they still use up the site's bandwidth).
Some huge aggregator type sites have different agreements, but it is rare.
Ah. My mistake. Smart advertisers. Good to know.
[–]Nikashi 139 points140 points141 points 20 days ago
Hey awesome! Let's make fun of a cultural (not religious) stereotype in our 'we just don't believe in god, that's all' subreddit, in a fairly straight up bigoted way.
What the fuck is wrong with this subreddit lately, mods, can you please start doing something about all the constant posting of straight up unconstructive religion bashing, and hell, in this case plain old racism?
[–]Yserbius -19 points-18 points-17 points 20 days ago
I'm Jewish and I thought it was hilarious.
[–]koopaatroopa 18 points19 points20 points 20 days ago
First of all, I think it's really awesome that you can take jokes. More people need to be like you.
But please do not support this. The original comic is very funny as a comic. The OP is taking it and using it to bash cultures in a completely hostile way.
TLDR: comics funny. Context in post is fucking disgraceful.
[–]Yserbius 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago

racism encompasses plenty of different forms of discrimination.
there's only one race of humans on this planet, anyways.
So, essentially, you couldn't cal anything "racism" by your logic.
jews are as much an ethnic group as are latinos, asians, mexicans, etc. So yes, you can consider this racism, as a matter of fact.

[–]Trickster174 12 points13 points14 points 20 days ago
Grew up Jewish. Atheist now. Dumb stereotype is dumb.
[–]Feinberg 17 points18 points19 points 20 days ago
You're just kinda posting stuff wherever you think you can squeeze some karma from it, huh?
[–]patsmith 13 points14 points15 points 20 days ago
This has nothing to do with Atheism. It's not funny. It's just straight up anti-Semitic.
JL_Silva is a spammer, look at his link karma (13100) compared to his comment karma (216) and he's only been a member 5 months.
He already posted this to /r/funny before he posted it here and it only got +67.
[–]CosmicBard 5 points6 points7 points 20 days ago
Well?
C'mon OP.
Post a comment.
We're waiting.
You need to explain why this is in r/atheism.
[–]TybaltCapulet 16 points17 points18 points 20 days ago
I have no problem with the humour of the comic, its the fact its been posted in /r/atheism i have a problem with.
You're basically connecting the same old racist attitudes and using the excuse that the person is religious to cover it up. Well done dickheads.
[–]Gorehog -13 points-12 points-11 points 20 days ago
So, as an atheist you're ok with racism?
[–]TybaltCapulet 14 points15 points16 points 20 days ago
Actually, I'm Jewish.
If we took offence at every webcomic that poked fun of us, it wouldn't leave much time to rule the world as lizard kings would it?
[–]Gorehog 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
I too am Jewish. I just don't see how you can not be offended when someone reinforces the negative stereotypes. And, what's the point of being a secret lizard king if you can't take offense?
[–]jlennon4422 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
No, he's ok with jokes
[–]Gorehog 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
But it is barely even a joke unless you're laughing at the ignorance of the character on the left!
[–]jlennon4422 0 points1 point2 points 19 days ago
...that was the joke. He doesn't understand why the jew can't eat shrimp, and thinks it is because of his own stereotypes. You'd have to be incredibly thick to read this and think that being cheap is the reason the jewish character can't eat shrimp
[–]DeadHead13087 8 points9 points10 points 20 days ago
This is very anti-semitic
[–]CosmicBard 3 points4 points5 points 20 days ago
Nothing to do with atheism.
[–]asdfcrow 6 points7 points8 points 20 days ago
What does this have to do with Atheism?
[–]thekiddyfiddler 8 points9 points10 points 20 days ago
Thats it, i'm done with this sub reddit.
[–]minizanz 7 points8 points9 points 20 days ago
i'm going to pistol whip the next person who posts thees shenanigans. seriously this hits near the front page of /all more than once a day and has for a long while.
[–]CommanderShep 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
r atheism facing controversy over being immature dickheads?obviously it should put (at least slightly) racist/intolerant shit on the front page.Seriously, can't we have intelligent discussions on facts?isnt that what most atheists (myself included) say they do???
[–]RightWingWrite 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
Reddit logic: Bigotry is fine as long as it isn't directed towards gays, atheists or muslims!
[–]Rnorman3 4 points5 points6 points 20 days ago
The former basketball coach for my university (Bruce pearl) was Jewish and there was a film crew with the team for one of their events/trips to some out of town tournament. Anyway, there was a scene when he was at the hotel breakfast and he says "a Jews dilemma: free bacon" and I just lost it.
[–]Lots42 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
Don't rehost webcomics like a dick.
[–]MeowYouveDoneIt 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
Oh I see, Atheism is synonymous with bigotry. Oh wait, what else explains this found here? Karmawhoring. That is all
[–]gazoogle 2 points3 points4 points 19 days ago
Sweet baby jesus, this thread has lots of stupid in it. The comic is not using a stereotype to make fun of Jewish people, it is making fun of people that stereotype.
See another example http://www.explosm.net/comics/1979/
[–][deleted] 19 days ago
[–]gazoogle 1 point2 points3 points 19 days ago
You are really asking this, or you're being sarcastic?
[–]suburbanhero22 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago
Is rehosting C&H comics on reddit the new thing to do because I swear I've seen at least 4 or 5 in the last couple days. How hard is it to just link to the site?
[–]alecjohnson55 2 points3 points4 points 20 days ago

Clicked on comments hoping to regain some respect for Reddit. Left satisfied.
[–]rahtin 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
I want everyone to remember this next time there is "outrage" over a racist joke made by a comedian.
This is an example of "racial humour."
Some people will find this offensive. That's OK. It's alright to be offended. If you don't like it, you can move on, maybe even shoot them an email saying it was offensive and give them a high and hearty 'go fuck your mother' while you're at it.
This kind of humour is OK. There is no hate. The intent is comedy.
If instead of shrimp it was fried chicken, it would still be OK. Take the stick out of your patooty (pardon my language) and laugh, or move on.
[–]kzielinski 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
I can't eat that. There's no mustard.
[–]Snickersthecat 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
I don't care if it has anything to do with atheism, I just about died laughing from this.
[–]Ragnar_OK -1 points0 points1 point 19 days ago
r/atheism? I think you meant to go to /r/acism.
[–]Lots42 1 point2 points3 points 19 days ago
Well, at least you pissed off /r/shitredditsays so you got that going for you.
[–]drneanderthal 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
WHY IS THIS HERE
[–]Lots42 0 points1 point2 points 19 days ago
My guess; rampant idiocy.
[–]bubbs5 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
I fucking hate people like you, just fucking link it the explosm to give them the credit.
[–]salvu667 -1 points0 points1 point 20 days ago
well in that case...
[–]FireReadyAim 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
fuck you rehosting scum.
[–]canondocre 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
this isn't even funny, and I do like myself a good jew joke.
[–]batmanmilktruck -1 points0 points1 point 20 days ago
im a jew and this is just lazy. i mean come on, oh its the cheap stereotype again! everyones done this a million times and it just isn't funny. i mean do a good one about how we always are complaining and arguing, those are actually pretty true stereotypes. we can't agree on anything. or jewish mothers, the horror. i can appreciate a good jewish joke if its good and original.
[–]canondocre 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
my gf lives with a jewish lit student his self-deprecating humor has really raised the bar for me as far as which "jew jokes" I find funny.
[–]Electric_Ladykiller -4 points-3 points-2 points 20 days ago
Saving this for later to show my Jewish friends.
[–]reddit_user13 -1 points0 points1 point 20 days ago
Ahhh... the Jewish dilemma: free shrimp.
[–]prezpwns 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
dammit, I went to yawn but this made me laugh. It came out as a weird, throat-y handicapped laugh. all at my quiet office at work.
[–]destrolaminar -1 points0 points1 point 20 days ago
I don't care whether or not this belongs in r/atheism, but I think everyone who thinks this is racist/anti-semitic/bigoted etc. is missing the joke.
I interpreted the comic as making fun of the character who is so stupid/ignorant that he thinks the only reason a Jewish person wouldn't want something is if they have to pay for it. I feel like you even get that from the cartoonish facial expressions. The Jewish character has a very friendly smile and the other character just seems stupid.
I think you also have to understand how a lot of the Cyanide and Happiness comics work, especially those by Rob who I think did this. The humor in the comics often derives from a character taking something too literally, or fundamentally misunderstanding something.
Comedy often references stereotypes or talks about taboo things, but I think that the intent is really important. If the intent is to demean and make fun of a group of people, especially people who socially are less powerful, then I think this is wrong. But I don't think the joke is making fun of Jews by saying that they are cheap, it's making of the other character. The Jewish character does not actually exhibit any stereotypes.
[–]gazoogle -10 points-9 points-8 points 20 days ago
In highschool, one of my best friends was Jewish, but I had very little knowledge of any Jewish stereotypes. One day one of my other friends was talking to me "Dont you think Abraham (not his real name) is kind of cheap?". I hadn't particularly noticed that but whatever... Years latter I was like the sudden clarity guy... "Hey, he was making a stereotype"
[–]-Raggedy-Ann- -2 points-1 points0 points 20 days ago
Cool story bro.
[–]Gorehog -6 points-5 points-4 points 20 days ago
So there is a meta joke here about how the ignorant racist first offers shellfish to a Jew and then relies on a stereotype to rationalize why a Jew wouldn't want some. Here's the problem. Most people are ignorant of kosher rules. Also, most people are too dumb to laugh at the racist. This effectively turns into racist propaganda. This is a very sophisticated joke being presented to a very low brow audience.
[–]Wonderloaf -2 points-1 points0 points 20 days ago
Hmm, this has nothing to do with religion, it is just racism.
[–]ussr577 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
[–]lovesmasher 0 points1 point2 points 20 days ago
Atheism isn't believing in the non-existence of something. The positive belief in the non-existence of a god is a Christian construct. Thanks, Noah Webster.
All faiths are equally bullshit. Some are less dangerous and some are just less dangerous at the time.
What this 'joke' does is insult a culture, not a faith. It's not like Jews are stereotyped as cheap because the Torah says to be cheap. I'd have no problem ridiculing that bullshit. If anything, the stereotype of Jews being cheap is rooted in Christian belief. According to Wikipedia "Jews have often been stereotyped as greedy and money-mad. This originates in the Middle Ages, when the Church forbade Christians to lend money while charging interest (a practice called usury, although the word later took on the meaning of charging excessive interest). Jews were legally restricted to occupations as usurers, usually to Christians, and thus many went into money-lending. This led to, through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the association of Jews with greedy practices."
That said, you seem like a total asshole anyway, and we'd be better off without you. Don't let the door hit you where the universe split you.
[–]ronaldo95 -6 points-5 points-4 points 20 days ago
Nothing to do with atheism but still funny.
[–]d3s7iny -4 points-3 points-2 points 20 days ago
Look its a funny little joke and it is related to religion. Quit getting butt hurt when things are posted in /r/atheism. Yeah people might be karma begging but so what.. People are up voting it for a reason.
tldr; Don't make it such a huge deal because it doesn't directly have to do with atheism.
[–]mamalujo 1 point2 points3 points 20 days ago
Also - apparently an interesting (or, interesting to me) discussion developed up there about being an atheist jew and upholding the kosher diet and why. And relationship of an atheist to his/her culture and religion, esp when the two are so intertwined, seems to me very much on topic.
[–]UnknownArchive -9 points-8 points-7 points 20 days ago
FUCK YOU AND YOUR LAZY, SHITTY, REHOSTED, LAME, DUMBSHIT, RETARDED POST. I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE IN A FIRE WITH EVERYONE YOU EVER LOVED.
