I can see someone leaving that bottom drawer open. Sleepy whoever hits the bottom- drawer slides out sending person across room. Runs over wife's favorite cat (you've always hated the stupid thing - never buy siamese cats), wife gets pissed and thinks you did it on purpose. Argument ensues. Divorce. Don't get divorced, stay away from stair drawers.

I've been thinking of doing the blueprints for a cabin, and building one altogether. Since they are small, simple places, they don't have much storage space, so I've been looking for ideas...This one is great. =D Even if you just do it under the stairs. This, and making your couch out of three wooden walls, so you can have shelf room underneath. Also, doing the same for the kitchen table if you make it bench style. I love cool ideas like this. =)

Called a "kaidandansu" in Japanese. Kaidan means staircase, dansu (tansu) means cabinet. A very common piece of furniture in pre-WWII Japan.
