And beer and bacon?

Possibly bacon flavored beer?

[–]Lobotomus_Prime 2 points3 points ago

[–]coprolite_hobbyist 0 points1 point ago

This was actually what I was thinking of.

[–]BaconZombie 0 points1 point ago

I need to try and find some of this when I'm over in the US.

[–]coprolite_hobbyist 0 points1 point ago

It's really good. A bit on the expensive side around $12 a bottle where I'm at.

I've never seen it anywhere but the larger liquor stores.

[–]Lobotomus_Prime 0 points1 point ago

Pairs well with donuts and pork... brilliant.

I am going to have to keep an eye out for a bottle.

[–]coprolite_hobbyist 0 points1 point ago

I had a bag of spicy pork rinds with mine.

Muslim here. There is no specific party or anything special about Fridays other than the weekly Friday prayer which happens at noon, and that's just a time where Muslims get together and pray. I think your friends just don't like you lol. Why else would they make up some random party in Ramadan on a Friday nights where only Muslims are allowed?

[–]combatjohnny[S] 3 points4 points ago

not sure, the three muslim workers are going and have told everyone else they cant come. probably just being dicks

[–]MeeMoo220 6 points7 points ago

Probably are. Sorry.

[–]benlicik 0 points1 point ago

Pretty sure the party is for breaking the fast. Many Muslims have elaborate feasts after sundown. You should know that.

[–]MeeMoo220 2 points3 points ago

In my ~15 years of fasting, my family has never had an elaborate party for breaking fast. Also, it is actually encouraged to bring non-Muslims to events like that so they can see what it's like. Just yesterday my Christian Friend's skipped lunch to eat with me at sundown.

[–]benlicik 0 points1 point ago

I live in a Muslim majority country and people do it all the time. I agree that it is encouraged to bring non-Muslims. We just disagree on whether to call it a party or not.

[–]Express45 1 point2 points ago

That's pretty shitty about having to be a Muslim

[–]ihopeirememberthisun 5 points6 points ago

It's also a lie. I've been going to ramadan parties for 11 years now, 3 years as a catholic and 8 as an atheist.

edit: parties during ramadan, or the party at Eid?

[–]combatjohnny[S] 1 point2 points ago

during (friday night), its strange because they always want to go to the christmas party. i actually said this too them, they looked horrified lol

[–]dirtysockwizard 0 points1 point ago

Christmas is by now often a quite secular celebration, whereas Ramadan will likely never be very secular.

[–]Nessie 0 points1 point ago

Only 152 days until Ramadan!

[–]themike314 1 point2 points ago

They're probably mad because your party would be more popular than their party.

[–]gentleben88 2 points3 points ago

Wait, isn't Ramadan in November or something?

I'm a bartender and have wanted to hold a Rum-adan for so long. Half price top shelf rums as soon as the sun goes down.

[–]advicevice 1 point2 points ago

It's based on the lunar cycle

[–]TheOneFreeEngineer 0 points1 point ago

Currently started july 20ish and goes till about August 20ish. Based off a 350ish day lunar cycle so it moves around the solar year

[–]TheActualAWdeV 0 points1 point ago

That's a fuckin' nice idea though.

[–]mythboi 1 point2 points ago

Seems that they just don't like you, Ive been invited many times... great food.

[–]Nessie 0 points1 point ago

BYOB

bring your own burka

[–]brightman95 1 point2 points ago

It's blackjack and hookers. I don't know why getting it backwards pisses me off so much.

[–]aequitas3 1 point2 points ago

me too. Welcome to OCD

[–]dirtysockwizard -1 points0 points ago

I don't see the problem here. Why do you care?

Also, they have a valid point. It's like being told you can't compete in a national golf team because you aren't a golfer.

[–]Amryxx 0 points1 point ago

Are you sure it's a "party"? More likely it's the iftar (breaking fast) which, while it has lots of delicious food (yum!), it also involves longer-than-usual prayer sessions.

Now me, if people want to eat with me I'd be more than happy to accommodate them regardless of their faith; but maybe they just figure you'd be bored / out of place when the time comes to go pray.

[–]combatjohnny[S] 0 points1 point ago

trust me, they have no plans to go pray, one fo the guys does and fair enough i repect that but the two girl openly admit they dont pray, infact one of them drinks alcohol

[–]Amryxx 0 points1 point ago

Oh well. Plenty more parties out there.

And I don't mean to put down members of my own religious group, but we Muslims aren't known for throwing wild parties. Lots of food, yes. Caligula-type escapades though? You may want to try one of those Satanist sects that use young women as "altars", whatever that means.

[–]mountainmafia 0 points1 point ago

Why the fuck would you want to go to a Ramadan party anyways?
