Lose? I imagine this ad came out not too long (relatively speaking) after all the censorship on US SNES titles. "Wish, like you've never wished before!" in FF2/4 made a lot less sense than "Pray, like you've never prayed before!". This ad strikes me as a sign of Nintendo gaining edginess.

Nintendo had a competition with this ad campaign, I remember the winner was a photo of a kid playing the gameboy pocket, a tooth brush in his mouth and a long line of toothpaste spit drooling off his chin.

r/gaming is just a cesspool of reposts and re-upvotes. It's a place where Gabe Newell is praised so much and so aggressively, not even he would want to check here again. It's been known from most that this place is a pit, a dark space where a sack of meat is thrown every minute and the first of us fattened, bloodthirsty dog-like monstrosities to grab it with our hopeful, greed-filled hands is the 'winner,' unwilling to share and unwilling to understand the position we are all in; we are merely stuck in a dark pit, a cycle of short success we hope to reach and will do anything and everything to obtain it, even if most have already achieved it. By now, we should have realized where we all are, the position we are in, and what we can expect to face in the future. We could all band together, help each other, understand the true success we all want to achieve. We could escape this place of sadness and see a new light, something we have never seen before, and one which we can all enjoy, together. Yet, with all this salvation that we plan and crave for, another sack of meat falls from our light of hope; we go at it like dogs.
