Let me tell you a story relating to this.

I'm in college, recently discovered marijuana. I'm home alone in the apartment, toking up when I hear loud noises out in the parking lot. I go over to the window and I see a guy standing there holding one of those wild animal sticks with the loop on the end holding a deer in place. Another guy is standing near them, pulls out a handgun, and fucking shoots the deer.

I'm freaking out! I look over to the left and there's a cop there. Jesus christ, they're in on it too!

They take the stick/loop thing off, get in their respective cars and all three of them drive off leaving the deer there. The corpse laid there, in early summer heat, for almost a week before the calls to animal control finally got them to take care of it.
