She is absolutely rocking that extra chromosome! Screw the poster who put it on WTF! It's been on here already, she has downs, she is beautiful, nuff said!

This gets posted on here once a week now it seems.

They're just trying to put a positive spin on the cards life has dealt them. At least by the looks of it they will be open and honest with her about the syndrome as she grows up and focus on the situation rather than shying away. IMHO that's nothing but a good thang for her confidence and growth as a child.

I suppose some may see it as shocking, but think about the why. Nothings going to change the fact that the child has Down's Syndrome. Why should they not talk about it openly? Each family has their own way of dealing with things like this. Openness and a declaration of "you know what, it's happened. And we're not only going to deal with it, we're cool with it", in my observation, has always been the most beneficial way to deal with this type of thing for both family and the affected child.

Dunno how you can get all that from a pic of a kid in a t-shirt but just my 2 cents.

That's an awesome way to think about it.

I'm not reading all of this.

All anybody needs to know us that this has been posted at least 3 times in the past week. This pic could seriously have its own subreddit.

[–]Littleabby12 0 points1 point ago

I think in away it's kind of a good thing. It's raising awareness. I thinks it's great.

[–]GOLTRON 0 points1 point ago

Everyone already knows what down syndrome is. It's defiantly not new.

[–]Littleabby12 0 points1 point ago

Well of course not but I still think only good can come of the post. Sorry, I think more towards positives then negatives.

[–]GOLTRON 0 points1 point ago

Looks at the posts from the girl with down syndrome who became a laughing stock of Internet memes

[–]Littleabby12 0 points1 point ago

See and I don't think so. One of best friends sister has down and she's incredible and smart. I think sometimess we don't give enough credit where credit is due personally. Though it is wonderful to hear others opinion.

[–]GOLTRON 1 point2 points ago

That's always how it goes. If you know someone with downs you can relate (In a way) If you don't know anyone with downs its easy to make fun of what you don't understand.

Very very true

[–]butwhyhowever -5 points-4 points ago

And neither should you my friend. Neither should you.

[–]jyoti990 2 points3 points ago

i think she's adorable.

[–]tubcat 1 point2 points ago

To put it lightly, the kid has a genetic disorder that will be challenging in some respects for everyone in her life. That being said, why not try to enjoy life and get a laugh out of the elephant in the room?

[–]whatskilzp439 0 points1 point ago

I don't get it.

[–]tjlan86 0 points1 point ago

She has down syndrome. It's when you're born with an extra chromosome.

[–]jferrellhot 0 points1 point ago

is it wrong to laugh

[–]tjlan86 0 points1 point ago

Actually, I think this is kinda cool. Not at all WTF, but rather a motivator.

[–]UnoriginalNickname 0 points1 point ago

Simultaneously sad and funny. Didn't think that was possible.

[–]Littleabby12 0 points1 point ago

Repost. But this is freaking awesome! Made me smile.

[–]RyanFuller003 -1 points0 points ago

I can see this becoming the next "I can count to potato" type thing when she turns 13 and sees her photo all over the Internet.
