Pam: There is a master key and a spare key for the office. Dwight has them both. When I asked, “what if you die, Dwight? How will we get into the office?” He said, “if I’m dead, you guys have been dead for weeks.”

[–]arCyn1c 296 points297 points ago

I loved that part. Dwight is hilarious. His fire drill was my all-time favorite part of the show.

[–]TheEmcee 243 points244 points ago

Ah yes, I remember thoroughly losing it when Angela threw her cat into the ceiling and it fell through the other side.

[–]HungryC 135 points136 points ago

"SAVE BANDIT!"

[–]buh-nana 31 points32 points ago

Or when he lights off the fire crackers.

"What's that noise?!"

"THE FIRE IS SHOOTING AT US!!"

[–]Mako_ 43 points44 points ago

[–]FromAshyToClassy 4 points5 points ago

I remember seeing some kind of footage about that scene. When the cat comes through the ceiling you can hear a camera man say "oh shit" if you listen close.

[–]abbott_costello 75 points76 points ago

"today, smoking is going to save lives" flicks cigarette in trash

I thought this a was gif and was terribly disappointed after s few seconds of staring at the picture :(

[–]ThePoose 30 points31 points ago

I like when describes his perfect crime.

[–]lampshadewarrior 18 points19 points ago

Don't forget the perfect date. "And then the other ninja's got a knife..." "blood on the dancefloor"

[–]michaelpaulhartman 10 points11 points ago

[–]redds56101 47 points48 points ago

The pepper spray scene is up there as well. "Well who's laughing now?!"

[–]iForcefield 64 points65 points ago

What about when Jim dresses up as Dwight? "Bears, beets and Battlestar Galactica."

[–]whimsical_pizza 45 points46 points ago

Identity theft is not a joke, Jim!

[–]MICHAELJFUX 31 points32 points ago

MICHAEL.

[–]whimsical_pizza 6 points7 points ago

Oh, very funny. MICHAEL!

[–]jpole1 28 points29 points ago

"Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica"

FTFY... Sorry, I get protective when it comes to Office quotes

[–]ch1p0tl3s 2 points3 points ago

You did the correct thing to do. Do not apologize, please. Thank you.

[–]liquidserpent 15 points16 points ago

Michael!

[–]RollTide09 14 points15 points ago

That one was funny until everyone decided to quote it every time the show is brought up.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points ago

Did you hear that, iForcefield, you asshole?

[–]iForcefield 18 points19 points ago

I'm such a dick.

[–]michaelpaulhartman 9 points10 points ago

[–]Torvaldr[!] 4 points5 points ago

Stanley :(

[–]Maddjax2 4 points5 points ago

Yes, mine too.

[–]emtcj 1 point2 points ago

I am a CPR instructor and wondering if anyone has the full CPR training scene in HD or if I could buy it? I'm talking from the part where Michael talks about Stanleys heart attack, to just before where Dwight is explaining to the board or whatever why he did it.

[–]brokendimension 2 points3 points ago

Today, smoking saves lives.

[–]ShahpEleven 15 points16 points ago

"I can't wait to do to Pam, what I just did to Pam." - Dwight

[–]listentobillyzane 235 points236 points ago

I DECLARE BANKRUPTCY!

[–]TILeverythingAMA 34 points35 points ago

"I'm not superstitious, I'm just a little stitious"

[–]DownvotedbcChristian 131 points132 points ago

Michael, that's now how that works. you just can't say you declare bankruptcy like that.

"I didn't say it, i declared it"

[–]OhSoSavvy 23 points24 points ago

Well I do declare.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points ago

I already declared you I didn't do it!

[–]michaelpaulhartman 7 points8 points ago

[–]mathsive 14 points15 points ago

I declare BANK-RUPT-CY!!!!!

FTFY

[–]stereosymbiosis 69 points70 points ago

My favorite is the episode where Jim throws Andy's cell phone into the ceiling and Andy can't find it when it's ringing, so he punches a hole in the wall.

Edit to fix grammar.

[–]yourafagyourafag 49 points50 points ago

It wasn't freaking funny! In fact, it was pretty freaking unfunny!

[–]whimsical_pizza 23 points24 points ago

Where is my fuh-REAKING phone!

[–]mortarnpistol 14 points15 points ago

He rocks in the treetops, all day long. Hoppin' and a-boopin' and singing his song.

[–]inyouratmosphere 13 points14 points ago

That was an overreaction

[–]michaelpaulhartman 10 points11 points ago

[–]cormega 4 points5 points ago

Somebody better tell me where the put my stapler, or I'm gonna lose.. kicks trashcan MY FREAKIN MIND!

[–]fixitben 58 points59 points ago

Karen: Who are you faxing so early in the morning?

Jim: Oh, um... kinda hard to explain. (cuts to talking head) I don't have a ton of contact with the Scranton branch, but, before I left, I took a box of Dwight's stationery. So, from time to time, I send Dwight faxes. From himself. From the future. (cut to Dwight reading the fax Jim just sent) Dwight, at 8am today, somebody poisons the coffee. Do not drink the coffee. More instructions will follow. Cordially, Future Dwight.

Dwight: NOOOOO! (after seeing Stanley leave the break room with a cup of coffee, runs and knocks it out of his hand) You'll thank me later

[–]blacktoast0 8 points9 points ago

Favorite scene. Hands down.

[–]nolaftw 6 points7 points ago

[–]thompsnn 50 points51 points ago

The scene when Michael is leaving and Jim says "I'll see you tomorrow at lunch." gets me misty.

[–]jpole1 10 points11 points ago

My younger sister and I bawled watching that episode. I'm a 23 year old guy. I've never cried watching tv before or after that episode. My other younger sister (who doesn't watch) looked out and saw us crying and called us pathetic. I tried to explain why, but just couldn't get the words out without losing it again.

That episode was just so well done.

[–]slayerdx 322 points323 points ago

[–]IceRay42 26 points27 points ago

Michael's hatred of Toby early on is so fantastic. Goodbye, Toby (and the absence of any dramatic plotlines worth being interested in since Pam and Jim were together) marks the last episode in the series that I hold in the highest regard. That entire episode was gold for me though because Michael just gets to run wild with the nonsensical loathing of Toby bit.

"Hi. Yeah. Right. Okay, well, they hired a female Toby. Good for the world. Thank you, God, for creating two of you."

[–]bvanman 2 points3 points ago

I'm partial to when Toby returns and Michael finds out about it.

[–]POSTS_GIFS 109 points110 points ago

[–]LeonTrotsky_on_speed 25 points26 points ago

His name is Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise, thank you very much.

[–]The_Caring_Banker 12 points13 points ago

yeah I know who he is, but I didn't watch the series. Thank you very much?

NO...NO...GOD NO...NO.NOO...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

"I would kill Bin Laden and then Toby?"

[–]bookwyrmpoet 3 points4 points ago

nono, the answer is always to shoot Toby twice.

[–]InvertLogic 6 points7 points ago

He filmed his computer screen playing a movie? What the?

[–]ParanoidSarge 2 points3 points ago

Ya he isn't too smart...but it's better than nothing. It's hard to find that scene on youtube for some reason...

[–]BigBadMrBitches 7 points8 points ago

He was so mean to Toby for no reason.

[–]sje46 4 points5 points ago

His reason was because Toby's job was basically telling Michael to stop doing fun things. As such, he was "corporate" and not part of the "family" of the office.

[–]popnfresh7000 10 points11 points ago

And Toby was such a sweet guy. I absolutely loved that dynamic.

I kinda petered out on The Office during its last few seasons, this thread has me close to firing up netflix to stream them...

[–]HorobiTheHalfling 10 points11 points ago

Do it, you won't regret it. Up until the episode where Michael leaves it's incredibly funny.

[–]guekama 1 point2 points ago

I really hated Toby when he stopped Dwight and Andy while they where playing Sweet Verginia together.

[–]scoobydrew 1 point2 points ago

I couldn't stop laughing during the scene in Threat Level Midnight where Toby's head explodes multiple times.

Here

[–]nathaniele 33 points34 points ago

I think all the actors on this show (when Steve Carell was there of course) are just perfect in their roles and are great actors overall.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points ago

Yeah I'm surprised Steve hasn't won a million awards for it.

[–]cormega 16 points17 points ago

Didn't he lose out to fucking Sheldon from BBT?

[–]buh-nana 18 points19 points ago

I dont understand the appeal of that show.

[–]correcthorsestapler 6 points7 points ago

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one.

[–]gunluva 13 points14 points ago

You must be new here. Half of reddit hates it. The other half likes it.

[–]eVALV 3 points4 points ago

To be fair Jim Parsons is simply fantastic as Sheldon. Personally I think Michael wins of the two, but both are great.

[–]Goldmine44 403 points404 points ago

So many times watching this show I had to look away because the things he would say made me uncomfortable.

I miss his presence on the show.

[–]LincolnSt 308 points309 points ago

The episode "Scott's Tots" is up there with the Futurama episode "Jurassic Bark" as an episode I just cannot watch.

So fucking painful.

[–]pureskill 132 points133 points ago

People talk about the awkwardness of this show, but for the most part I've never had a problem with it. This episode just made me cringe though. I could just imagine letting it go on for a decade and then breaking it to them. I could barely stand it.

[–]LincolnSt 110 points111 points ago

And he just sits there while they thank him for an hour.

[–]redds56101 46 points47 points ago

The fact that he's about to tell them when they start their celebrations is almost as cringeworthy as the fact that he told them he'd pay for their education in the first place.

[–]SomeNoveltyAccount 24 points25 points ago

I couldn't watch this episode. Reading these accounts make me less likely to ever go back and watch it.

The Office is sometimes more cringworthy than Three's Company ever was.

[–]dafragsta 11 points12 points ago

Curb Your Enthusiasm gives it a good run, though I'm often just as pissed off for Larry as I am amazed at some of the bad timing and self-unawareness.

[–]SomeNoveltyAccount 21 points22 points ago

I agree, but with Curb you enjoy watching the characters suffer.

Larry David usually has it coming, and it's hilarious watching him dig himself deeper.

[–]HappyAssassin 12 points13 points ago

This is prih-tee, prih-teeeee accurate

[–]yourafagyourafag 4 points5 points ago

I know you're a busy man. And your schedule moves around a lot!

[–]redds56101 23 points24 points ago

Hey, Mr. Scott! What you gonna do? What you gonna do, make our dreams come true!

[–]TheIceCreamPirate 8 points9 points ago

As mainsworth points out, the BBC version is way more awkward.

The first season of the american office is much closer in spirit to the BBC season version than the rest of the american office seasons. First season is really, really awkward in some spots.

[–]mainsworth 4 points5 points ago

The original is a lot more awkward.

[–]Buck_wheat 19 points20 points ago

My roommate and I always sing, "Hey Mr. Scott, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do to make our dreams come true!"

[–]mbdjd 15 points16 points ago

Nothing is worse than the Peep Show episode with the dog.

[–]Spammish 4 points5 points ago

"I really think you should have some chicken mark."

[–]thekiefcouch 9 points10 points ago

Oh god. By far one of my favorite moments in The Office. Its like the punchline to a ten year long joke coming to fruition. Kills me every time

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

Stanley's laugh in Scott's Tots is the best moment of The Office.

EDIT: Or this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEUoz8d1E74

[–]redditchao999 10 points11 points ago

I can never watch that one, its just too painful.

[–]Teglement 36 points37 points ago

I think I looked away from the screen for a good third of the Phyllis's Wedding episode. Seriously, Michael's great, but sometimes I just wish he would get hit by a train.

[–]CheesyGoodness 16 points17 points ago

"Phyllis and Bob: their celebrity couple name would be Phlob. You look at her... and she's kind of matronly today, but back in High School, I swear, her nickname was 'Easy Rider'. Now as for Bob... Bob Vance..."

[–]hcumberdale1 10 points11 points ago

I've watched the entire series on Netflix 3 times but I always have to skip that one. I also skip the dinner scene during Pam and Jim's wedding.

[–]AgentOfMediocrity 8 points9 points ago

I never have that strong a reaction to his madness, but when he announces Mr. and Mrs. Bob Vance in between their vows, I cringe every time.

[–]PositivelyWitless 12 points13 points ago

AGREED haha, during this one I had to change the channel because of the feeling. I've never had that reaction to anything else I've ever seen.

[–]hiphiphorray 13 points14 points ago

that's the beauty of the show. crude humor and i love it. it's like shit we would say in real life but not out loud.

[–]carbonmass 2 points3 points ago

Webster's dictionary defines a wedding as...

[–]ImAboutToEatHam 2 points3 points ago

the fusion of two metals. I think you two are metals.....gold medals.

[–]TheKanyeCompass 6 points7 points ago

Have you seen that episode where Michael shows up to Jim's party, not having been invited. The events that followed were some of the most awkward things I have ever seen on television.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]Sanchez326 1 point2 points ago

This show gave you that feeling, something unique about the office. Love it

[–]BigBadMrBitches 2 points3 points ago

My first experience with The Office was watching the original series on adult swim. I loved it and was extra excited to start watching the American version. I love both. this is what hooked me

[–]anonymous123421 2 points3 points ago

The only shows that do that anymore are Curb Your Enthusiasm and Louie

[–]MrDiller 4 points5 points ago

Check out The Extras, Gervais is the master of awkward humor.

[–]yourafagyourafag 157 points158 points ago

You would never call a retarded person retard. It's bad taste. You call your friends retard when they're acting retarded.

[–][deleted] 54 points55 points ago

I love how blunt he is...and honestly he often says stuff that everyone thinks but doesn't say.

This comment is surprisingly accurate.

[–]FuelUrMind 29 points30 points ago

Did you just confirm your own comment?

I believe he did.

[–]IthinkIthink 103 points104 points ago

My favorite:

Jim We could get him Justin Bieber tickets.

Dwight Who's Justice Beaver?

Jim He's a crime fighting beaver.

[–]michaelpaulhartman 12 points13 points ago

[–]KoryMajorTuba 28 points29 points ago

"There are HUGE number of yeast infections in this county. Probably...because we're downriver...from that old bread factory"

[–]yepperoni 26 points27 points ago

I think mine has to be probably the entire episode of Diversity Day. So uncomfortable.

[–]AboveTheRadar 76 points77 points ago

One does not simply have a favorite scene of the office

[–]rancor_james 16 points17 points ago

I JUST watched the episode were Michael was going to jump off the roof onto a bouncy castle...They carelessly left a broken watermelon on Stanley's Car at the end of the ep. Stanley just looking at his car with shattered watermelon all over it, frozen with shock and fury had me laughing for hours.

[–]DattNigg 18 points19 points ago

Mine would have to be:

Michael: ...some burritos or some colored greens or some pad thai.

Stanley: It's collard greens.

Michael: What?

Stanley: It's collard greens.

Michael: That doesn't make sense. You don't call them 'collard people'...
that's offensive.

[–]kitcatcher 15 points16 points ago

Mine is when Holly is trying to help Kevin choose what to get at the vending machine because she thinks he's developmentally disabled.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points ago

DID I STUTTER!?

[–]Verb_Rogue 25 points26 points ago

[–]CheesyGoodness 7 points8 points ago

At least 2-3 times a season, I found myself screaming at the TV, "GODDAMNIT TOBY! STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!!", because I used to be Toby.

[–]rish234 10 points11 points ago

Sexual Harassment is one of the best

[–]CaptJax 9 points10 points ago

By far my favorite scene -- Toby's Return

[–]Se7en_Sinner 21 points22 points ago

[–]elgrimace 7 points8 points ago

[–]SphericalArc 47 points48 points ago

Is it just me, or did all those pranks strung together with no real context just make Jim seem like a giant asshole?

[–]Bainemo 35 points36 points ago

The thing is, Dwight was originally the asshole in seasons 1 and 2. The writers changed him to not be a one-dimensional punching bag, but never bothered changing Jim's penchant for making him unhappy.

[–]IrregardlessYourRong 18 points19 points ago

They actually mention that in the show when Michael is going through all of Dwight's complaints that aren't reported to corporate. I'm pretty sure it's the episode Conflict Resolution.

[–]sulaymanf 8 points9 points ago

Well, 2 of those were Dwight trying to frame Jim; the porcupine in the drawer, and Dwight spraypainting "Jim is Awesome" on his own car.

[–]Clearly_a_fake_name 61 points62 points ago

He is.

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points ago

To be fair, Dwight was also annoying at first. Now he's only strange. So Jim is pretty much a dick.

The one episode where he messed with Jim psychologically was hilarious though.

[–]manometer114 25 points26 points ago

my favorite scene is probably when Michael Scott reveals his mnemonic device for remembering names.

Scene

[–]BegginForBacon 17 points18 points ago

She is PREGNANT, she is KNOCKED UP, K, Karen.

Michael knows just how to piss people off.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points ago

sugar boobs

[–]TropicalBlend 2 points3 points ago

Black Woman

[–]standerby 11 points12 points ago

Jaba the hut, Pizza the hut, Fat guys like pizza, pepperoni pizza, pepperoni Tony!

[–]hiphiphorray 14 points15 points ago

can't forget about the parkour episode.

[–]michaelpaulhartman 3 points4 points ago

[–]buhfest 10 points11 points ago

As a non-Office watcher but Wire veteran, I was pleased to notice Beaty Russel in the background.

[–]foreveracubone 5 points6 points ago

You'll definitely love Stringers arc on the show then.

[–]RobinYoHood 3 points4 points ago

She's great in both shows, actually really funny in The Office.

[–]michaelpaulhartman 5 points6 points ago

Check her out in Gone Baby Gone. Holy shit.

[–]yuhkih 6 points7 points ago

the actor that plays stanley is great. He gives stanley so much personality despite having few lines.

[–]Kingtomy 4 points5 points ago

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umDr0mPuyQc Better then any reaction image.

[–]XiiencE 5 points6 points ago

[–]tangodestroyer 3 points4 points ago

Jim and Dwight rivalry, cant be beat. The Office is not the same without Michael.

[–]TheColostomyBag 3 points4 points ago

I think there's been a rape up there.

[–]TheSurgeMeister 3 points4 points ago

my favorite would always be Prison Mike, that would have me rolling through out the whole episode!

[–]baron1703 2 points3 points ago

i like the scene with dwight and the cpr doll the most

[–]ShenanigansYes 4 points5 points ago

My favorite has to be Ryan describing the plot of The Lion King to Michael.

[–]wildstargoethe 1 point2 points ago

One of my favorite scenes from the US office is when Dwight actually thinks that Ryan's friend from NYC is a hobbit. This is from the bloopers real, and the fact that Jim breaks character makes it even funnier: The Office Hobbit

[–]cleveringer 4 points5 points ago

I have to say, my favorite isn't really a funny one. It's one of the only scenes where Michael actually shows some actual sense and it all just looks completely badass. It's where Michael, Pam, and Ryan(of the Michael Scott Paper Company) are meeting with David Wallace for a buyout, and Michael says: "I don't need to outlast the company, David. I just need to outlast you." It's one of the only times you see that he, in spite of his attitude, actually knows what he's doing.

[–]aliensexaddict 0 points1 point ago

Just gotta say, when I read the title, this is the first scene that came to mind. DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS...no unfortunately, it's the internet

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I like the one when Michael Scott yells, "I. Know. NOTHING!"

[–]lukehmuse 1 point2 points ago

PAM! PAM! PAM! PAM! PAM! PAM!

[–]kanyeezy24 0 points1 point ago

this is my favorite moment

[–]SubtleMockery 2 points3 points ago

This isn't "Free Love on the Free Love Freeway"...

[–]Sycosplat 2 points3 points ago

[–]noneadvice 1 point2 points ago

Jim: I'm actually going to ask for a pay decrease.

Dwight: Uh, that's stupid. What if he gives it to you?

Jim: Well then I win.

[–]scBaldwin 4 points5 points ago

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuGIgf-ICHM&feature=related

One of my favorites haha, I love this show.

[–]CoyoteStark 1 point2 points ago

I may be one of a select few here but I always thought Ricky Gervais was a funnier Michael Scott. I like the American Office better as a show, but Ricky is so much more over the top and cringe worthy.

[–]ZestyOne 2 points3 points ago

Andy help me clean my car!

What about this, can i throw this powerade away?

Oh! uhhhh what flavor is that? blue blast? no, no way, that goes in the front seat side pocket

[–]The_Caring_Banker 1 point2 points ago

I read "golden days", so much funnier

[–]Palamede 1 point2 points ago

I recently rewatched the first seasons, this show is freaking hilarious. Dwight and Michael... I can't help it, even their photos make me smile.

[–]VonKressenstein 0 points1 point ago

"Michael's got a lot of issues....and he's really stupid." - Phyllis

[–]ilihcma2 0 points1 point ago

Is the show any good now? Haven't watched the latest season.

[–]thrtlvlmdnt 1 point2 points ago

Goddamnit, I love this show.

[–]hostclub 0 points1 point ago

Did I stutter?!

[–]Dr_Fetus 0 points1 point ago

Huh, I'm gonna go download some episodes of this now, actually seems pretty funny.

[–]CeramicChicken 0 points1 point ago

It's hard to decide between The Office and Parks and Rec.

[–]michaelpaulhartman 3 points4 points ago

Overall, yes. But currently, P&R is far and away better.

[–]garyelofant 0 points1 point ago

My favorite is when he started spanking his nephew. Omg I was not expecting it and I burst out laughing and couldn't stop. But the fire drill scene was hilarious too. It's an awesome show.

[–]MLC5 0 points1 point ago

Has anyone seen the blooper reels for the office? Every time i watch them i end up rofl-ing. These bloopers and whos line is it anyway always get me

[–]MLC5 -1 points0 points ago

Did no one enjoy threat level midnight?

[–]mercermango 1 point2 points ago

You may enjoy r/dundermifflin

[–]GreenJupiter4 0 points1 point ago

The Parkour clip is my absolute favorite. I was laughing so hard there were tears.

[–]sacredcowkiller 1 point2 points ago

I love the first 4 seasons of this show. The later ones are alright, but not nearly as good.

[–]asleia 1 point2 points ago

Michael: If I had a gun with two bullets in it and I was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and Toby, I would shoot Toby twice.

[–]ebolaworld -1 points0 points ago

Oooh! He looked at the camera! That's how you know it's funny!!

[–]zzerTrezz 1 point2 points ago

can't tell if tumblr or Reddit

[–]BanksterWolf 0 points1 point ago

The Christmas episode with the snowmen made me laugh so hard, I felt that it was perfectly executed.
