i guess you never played the first Halo's Universality addition? It ran on a modified Halo 1 engine so it played exactly the same as it was supposed to. I don't know why they'd stray from that

Yes, there was no halo 1 multiplayer in halo anniversary which is complete bullshit. To be fair they added a modded halo reach multiplayer to work like halo 1. It was fun BUT IT'S NOT HALO 1! I was incredibly mad when it came out because of that.

Considering Halo 1 had minimal network code, I would assume to assimilate the original multiplayer into Xbox Live would be a huge pain. Development constraints I'm sure were ridiculously tight.

Not to mention the reworking that every aspect of the game itself would have to endure. It would have been a huge strain on the development team, and would most likely have impeded on the development of Halo 4, not to mention it would have had to have been released much later than it was, which Microsoft I'm sure protested to.

BR is coming back with Halo 4 and when I played it at SDCC it felt damn good. Back to being hitscan like in Halo 2 rather than how it was in Halo 3.

Only problem is, it's been scaled down to a five shot rather than four. Seems to be useless as an option if the DMR is still a five shot. Hopefully they return it to its full H3 glory.

Trust me it shoots FAST so 5 shot really doesn't matter, went 28/3 in one of the games I played at SDCC and was able to get an overkill with it no problem (and it felt DAMN good)

I hope they change the backgrounds in Metropolis and Outskirts a little bit to have some continuity with ODST or something. Just like add some geometry for some of the ODST skyscrapers behind the ugly original skyscrapers in Metropolis and Outskirts.

Some of the backdrops were 2D paintings anyways so they'll probably change it to 3D like in CEA.

I think this would actually be a bad idea, because it opens the flood gates. The next generation of consoles may have ports of every Halo game up until now, and I don't like paying $420 for all my Halo games, again.

The game isn't even 10 years old yet and people are asking for a remake? The game still works on a xbox360 go play it. "No we want multilayer back" No you don't, no one played it that is why the severs got shut down. This will end up being like CoD, you will be happy with your gimmick for a year or so just in time for another one to come out.

This would be amazing, but I really hope that the Anniversary franchise would end there, before 343 gets into a nasty business rut of releasing a remade version of an old Halo title during the interim between the main franchise games.

Have it based on the Halo 4 engine, launch date can be maybe a year before Halo 5 comes out. It would function as both a remade Halo 2 campaign and a map pack for Halo 4.

After that (between 5 and 6), maybe make an ODST sequel?

I'd be interested if they accurately preserved the Halo 2 multiplayer suite (not just 'recreate' some of it) and did not outsource the campaign to some studio that throws un-researched, non-canon visuals all over everything with stilted motion-capture animations that somehow managed to look worse than the original's dated animations...

Only if it uses the Halo 2 multiplayer engine. Probably impossible, but I would suggest leaving in many of the glitches as well, most were a ton of fun. The only thing I would really want to see fixed would be BxR.
