Possibly caused by biting your nails. I mean really chomping on them for long periods of time to get this. If I remember correctly the technical term is Onacophargy (though probably spelt that wrong).

Copd patients will develop what's called "finger clubbing." that's what it looks like to me

This is not what clubbing from chronic respiratory disease looks like. Clubbing from COPD, CF, etc has to do with the change in angle of where the beginning of the nail meets what people refer to as the cuticle line. Instead of seeing a nice step down, this angle is rounded and leads to a bulging appearance.
