Looking for an image subreddit with minimal rules? Check out /r/images

A place to share interesting photographs and pictures. Feel free to post your own, but please read the rules first (see below), and note that we are not a catch-all for general images (of screenshots, comics, etc.)

Spoiler code

Please mark spoilers like this:

Hover over to read.

Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), weight loss photos, posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. Weight loss photos go in /r/loseit, DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Out of them all only one is happy.

[–]ArtfulJack 2 points3 points ago

Coincidence that Danes are also statistically the happiest people in the world?

[–]Roopa132 7 points8 points ago

Man, the commenters here are idiots...

"Our outlet is better than yours"
"Everybody should use our outlet"

When will school finally start again...

[–]Squishumz 2 points3 points ago

It's cute that you think that that kind of shit will go away during the fall.

[–]Inessia 7 points8 points ago

Italy wtf?

[–]xaji 1 point2 points ago

Came here to ask the same thing.

[–]andyman1125 0 points1 point ago

Those remind me of stage pin plugs for lighting in most theaters. Very common in stage productions, never seen them elsewhere... Pic

[–]egoncasteel 0 points1 point ago

What is so odd about it. Since AC doesn't have a + pin and - pin this makes sense. The ground pin is the center the 2 hot pins are on the outside.

[–]GoochMcScrotes 0 points1 point ago

From the adapter's my brother's shown me, that doesn't look right. Turn it on the side and remove the middle one and that's what i've seen.

[–]Newbzorg 4 points5 points ago

No wonder Denmarks the happiest country in the world.

[–]PotatoGirl 6 points7 points ago

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DIFFERENT ONES??

[–]TidalPotential 0 points1 point ago

[–]candymonster101 2 points3 points ago

Why does europe have so many types? Lucky!!!!!!

[–]bobywaller 0 points1 point ago

Maybe they looks different but you can connect them each other

[–]Vile2539 4 points5 points ago

As an Irishman, I resent the fact that's there's only a Union Jack for the first outlet.

[–]mybeard 1 point2 points ago

Best god damn plugs in the world.

[–]AylaRolo 0 points1 point ago

The one in the top left is also for the Rep. of Ireland (which isn't part of the UK). I think it might be used in Spain too? I'm not sure.

[–]barcodez 1 point2 points ago

Not used in Spain, Spain is the same as France IIRC.

[–]DaveTOR 0 points1 point ago

I'm pretty sure that Israel and Italy use the same outlet. I used the same adapter while over in both any ways.

[–]Elemmakil 0 points1 point ago

The outer pins have the same measures than the German sockets, too. The place of the Schuko... (Wiki doesn't translate "Schutzkontaktstecker") is different.

[–]calu1986 1 point2 points ago

HAHA The one from india has a dot on the "forehead"

Immature...

[–]iTzGoNz0 -1 points0 points ago

The rest of the countries use hamster in a hamster wheel.

[–]BaaBob 0 points1 point ago

I think the Belgian one and the Dutch one are labeled incorrectly.

[–]Trowaway17 2 points3 points ago

I've seen all the european labeled in The Netherlands, and have been told that the one with the German flag, is like the one with the Russian flag, but safer due to the metal pins. They must be pressed to work, I guess the French labeled works like that too

[–]BaaBob 1 point2 points ago

You're right. When I lived in the NL I had the right two in the middle in my house. Now, I'm in Belgium and only have the 3rd from the right in the middle. TIL, I suck at flags.

[–]Trowaway17 1 point2 points ago

Thanks for not saying "Holland"

[–]BaaBob -1 points0 points ago

5 years in the NL, only 2 in Holland.

[–]beth321 -1 points0 points ago

I really thought this was something sexual related... I was wrong.

[–]dexter109 0 points1 point ago

No wonder the Swedish Chef was always happy.

[–]Ro0oter 1 point2 points ago

[–]warkweh 0 points1 point ago

Germany and Korea
China and Australia

Wat?

[–]JosB420 0 points1 point ago

According to this only 20 countries in the world have electricity... fascinating :D

[–]Ro0oter 0 points1 point ago

It is messed up in the other parts of the world. In Saudi Arabia, there is no standard outlet type. Since most of the electronic products are imported from everywhere, we either use an adapter that fits in the outlet or install an outlet that fits all. Moreover, In some regions of Saudi Arabia, the standard voltage is 127V (known as 110), while other parts of the country get 220V. It was an issue ~20 years ago, when products support only one voltage. I've had many stereos and video games consoles and other products damaged because they had been mistakenly connected to higher voltage sources.

[–]2rd -1 points0 points ago

outlets? more like repost

[–]biscuitball 1 point2 points ago

as an australian, for years i thought we had the most inconvenient, rarely used outlet...turns out it's one of the most used!

[–]cajunbander 0 points1 point ago

China's outlets are fucking racist. Also, shouldn't the UK one be used in Australia?

[–]Boromm 0 points1 point ago

How do Japan and Russia(?) ground their outlets?

[–]crohnick[S] 0 points1 point ago

Wow! I come back after a day and see 58 comments! Glad someone else besides me thought it was interesting...

[–]jubbing 1 point2 points ago

Reddot has ruined plugs for me. All I see are faces and expressions. Dammit...

[–]RyanSmithN -2 points-1 points ago

I thought this would be the Chinese one http://i.imgur.com/6l44s.png

[–]CtrlC_plus_CtrlV -2 points-1 points ago

..and the North American twins are not happy about it.

[–]RyanSmithN 2 points3 points ago

Problem is every other country is saying the same thing about theirs.

[–]Lyianx 1 point2 points ago

but ours is Superior!!

Seriously tho, if everything is to scale, the U.S. plugs look more space efficient.

[–]onipos 0 points1 point ago

Well then it's decided; We'll all use the most space efficient design from now on. Congratulations Japan!

[–]Kinomi 0 points1 point ago

Does Japan's even have a grounding spot?

[–]wyvernx02 0 points1 point ago

Seems not to. Out of contention then.

[–]onipos 0 points1 point ago

I have no idea.

[–]turlian 0 points1 point ago

I just looked this up as I noticed the same thing - they do not. The only grounding requirement (and only since 2005) is that appliance outlets must be grounded. The vast majority of outlets over there are ungrounded.

[–]Elemmakil 1 point2 points ago

They are not to scale the outer pins are the same distance in the Italian and German sockets are the same distance.
