A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports). "Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

"Generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission.

The Underground Maleroad?

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points ago

Ending of Episode 11, season 4

YOU ALL KNOW WHAT SCENE I'M REFERRING TO

gives me chills just thinking about it

[–]Chipsticks 6 points7 points ago

URHAHAHAHAHAHEEUHAHAHA

[–]viper61989 3 points4 points ago

it reminded me of the joker and his own origins.

[–]atafies 1 point2 points ago

WHERE'S THE MONEY?!?!

[–]sizzlekid 7 points8 points ago

Bah Bodenkirk is quite nifty

[–]reverbs 2 points3 points ago

The way he's acting now though, you just know he's going to die this season!

[–]nixnaxmik 2 points3 points ago

Eh. He always pretty much wanted to, subconsciously I think. I would too if that was my wife.

[–]swaggasaurus 0 points1 point ago

Well, yeah. He has terminal cancer. The question now is what kills him first.

[–]reverbs 1 point2 points ago

I feel like they're setting it up for Jesse to end up killing him at the end of the season.

[–]armintehgreat 1 point2 points ago

I dont know... I got a feeling that Skyler might kill him.

[–]Daniel_Is_I 37 points38 points ago

Messages like this just double my efforts to play.

This, and "Would you like to lower the difficulty?" after you've died multiple times in the same area are my top two "This shit will not beat me" moments.

[–]TwoLegsJoe 29 points30 points ago

"No, fuck you game."

[–]gregmax 14 points15 points ago

Would you like to take a break? [y/suck a dick]

[–]Szalkow 14 points15 points ago

Fuck Super Mario Galaxy 2's New Super Mario Bros Wii's rainbow guide feature.

"Would you like to turn on Rainbow Guide?" translates to "Wow you suck, want us to show you how to do it?"

edit: accidentally a game

[–]Papa_Luigi 1 point2 points ago

SMG2 has a guide?

[–]Szalkow 1 point2 points ago

Maybe I'm confusing SMG2 with NSMBW, but I could have sworn SMG2 had the same guide feature.

[–]Papa_Luigi 0 points1 point ago

I think it's the latter that does.

[–]MangoScango 0 points1 point ago

They both do iirc.

[–]mr-peabody 2 points3 points ago

It always sounds so patronizing, doesn't it?

[–]Disgruntled__Goat 1 point2 points ago

Have you played Super Mario 3D Land? Not only does it give you the option of invincibility after losing 10 lives, after a few more it allows you to skip the level, as if the game is remotely difficult with invincibility.

[–]Thehealeroftri 114 points115 points ago

Did anyone even listen to that advice? I know 0 people who saw that message and were like, "You know what? I really should play less. I'm going to go outside."

[–]Arthean 52 points53 points ago

I've done it some times. Usually if I'm getting angry at a puzzle game that has this, or if I'm procrastinating anyway.

It's a good "fuck it, this is a good enough time to get a sandwich, do the laundry, clean my room, clean the dishes, and then maybe start that research" point.

[–]remondo 37 points38 points ago

This would make more sense on an xbox or ps3 where you're only moving your thumbs, not on a console from which you feel the effects for several days afterwards.

Edit: source: tried to get 'pro'status on wii sports boxing, couldn't lift arms for a week.

[–]MarinePrincePrime 22 points23 points ago

You should really move more. Sitting in your computer chair for 24 hours a day is starting to take a toll on you.

[–]remondo 7 points8 points ago

I haven't been on my PC for 2 weeks and I've never felt better

[–]MarinePrincePrime 9 points10 points ago

That's good, I bet the weight is literally dripping off of you.

[–]mouseknuckle 9 points10 points ago

The image in my head right now is horrifying.

[–]NorthernSkeptic 21 points22 points ago

[–]ImTheGuyWhoLoveGems 13 points14 points ago

fuck

[–]dr_professor_patrick 4 points5 points ago

I refuse to click that.

[–]mouseknuckle 1 point2 points ago

It's fine.

Hint: If you've never seen this image before, your life is incomplete.

[–]dr_professor_patrick 1 point2 points ago

You convinced me, and yes Indinana Jones is the best.

[–]StealthRevealed 0 points1 point ago

You have more resolve than most people sir.

[–]remondo 6 points7 points ago

I'm blessed with a fast/high metabolism so no not really. I'm just on holiday and have been swimming a lot. I dont know why I'm telling you all of this.

[–]Zoklar 0 points1 point ago

Pool or beach? Also Australian? Or European I guess

[–]remondo 0 points1 point ago

If you must know, a very nice pool by the beach in greece.

[–]Zoklar 0 points1 point ago

Oh I was trying to guess where you were from. At least in my current area in the US, no one says "Holidays", but it was very common in Australia.

Pool sounds nice though.

[–]remondo 0 points1 point ago

Ah right, UK, more specifically, England

[–]coyote1284 -1 points0 points ago

Ewww...

[–]PrincessDickFart -3 points-2 points ago

Thats pretty damn pathetic.

[–]remondo 2 points3 points ago

Thanks princessdickfart

[–]Szalkow 26 points27 points ago

I know even fewer (than zero) people who listen to this message when it's built into an MMORPG. MapleStory had hourly alerts which had zero effect on how long I played.

"You have been playing for 14 hours. We recommend you take a break from Mapling."

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points ago

Don't WoW and other games include timers? I don't play crack games so I've never needed a timer.

I take that back. I just lost two evenings to Space Empires IV and Galactic Civilizations II.

I wish those games had turn limits. Only 50 turns per 24 hours...

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

WoW doesn't. It logs you out if you're idle for longer than like 20 minutes, but it doesn't have a timer telling you to go take a break.

[–]floatablepie 12 points13 points ago

If you type "/played", however, it does give you accurately depressing stats.

[–]GryphonDeity 3 points4 points ago

It used to on load screens for instances / teleporting etc. no timer but "GO OUTSIDE!" etc.

[–]Naftine 7 points8 points ago

It still does. Two straight of my memory (might be more, doubtful):

Remember to take all things in moderation (even World of Warcraft!)

Bring your friends to Azeroth, but don't forget to go outside Azeroth with them as well.

[–]JanitorWolfman 6 points7 points ago

Bring your friends to Azeroth, but don't forget to go outside Azeroth with them as well.

but there's nothing to do in the outlands >:[

[–]mriparian 0 points1 point ago

Space Empires! What an amazingly amazing game. I played II and III when they came out, haven't played IV or V. Can you still play by email?

[–]RGT42 6 points7 points ago

Metal Gear Solid 4 had a shitload of stuff like this. While you install the game it says things like "Take frequent breaks while playing", "If you feel nautious at all then you should stop playing immediately" and "Make sure to dispose of cigarettes properly."

I'm sure I'm way off on those quotes but the main idea is there. It had loads of unnecessary tips.

[–]RaDeus 4 points5 points ago

I have seen my friend take that opportunity to take a smoke :P

[–]broken337 2 points3 points ago

You have to play your Wii to get the message......so, no.

[–]giggity2 1 point2 points ago

I thought about it for about 1 second. But then realized my window wasn't open.

[–]stone500 0 points1 point ago

Only with the virtual boy, cause that thing was destroying my eyes.

[–]hot_skillet 0 points1 point ago

I know 0 people that play enough Wii to get that message.

[–]UndercoverPotato 16 points17 points ago

Nintendo REALLY doesn't want to get sued for their Wii. "Why not take a break" "Always remember to have plenty of swinging room" "Watch out for obstacles and other people in your vicinity" "Remember to attach the security thingstuffforgotit'sname"

[–]NorthernSkeptic 27 points28 points ago

I am one of those idiots that actually destroyed their TV by throwing a Wiimote into it.

I thought the wrist strap was for children and cripples.

I was wrong.

I AM WIITARD.

[–]floatablepie 5 points6 points ago

My friend and I have never used the wrist strap and never had an issue. A friend of ours used it and still almost put the thing through a window somehow. Also it makes you feel cool, like not wearing a seatbelt! /s

[–]NorthernSkeptic 3 points4 points ago

I did it on the bowling game on Wii Sports. I think it was my first ball. The thing is, when simulating ten pin bowling it's your natural instinct to let go of the 'ball'.

[–]heysuess 3 points4 points ago

Yep. That's pretty dumb of you.

[–]yul_brynner 3 points4 points ago

Don't know why you got downvoted for pointing that out. The guy is obviously a bit of a special agent.

[–]broo20 9 points10 points ago

Nope, just a regular tard.

[–]kOsHades 1 point2 points ago

I put a small hole in my ceiling playing bowling a few years back, was just about to leave for vacation.

[–]d0ctor 1 point2 points ago

Never go full WIITARD.

[–]efwiz 1 point2 points ago

I demand an AMA.

[–]ZeroTheSavior 0 points1 point ago

I want a wii remote jacket now.

[–]coyote1284 6 points7 points ago

Just about every game now has the "take breaks, play in a well lit room, stop playing of you experience vertigo, may cause seizures" disclaimer during game start up that was once found only in the instruction manual.

What killed me is that I had to watch a 30 minute video on how to connect a Motion+ add-on to my WiiMote and put the condom back on before I could start playing Skyward Sword... when the controller I was using already had Motion+ internal.

[–]mambypambyland 9 points10 points ago

Out of all the things to get emotional about in this show, that scene did it for me. Poor Saul looks so terrified even though he's just trying to help. Really shows how psycho Walt has gotten.

[–]imaunitard[S] 10 points11 points ago

My favorite Saul Goodman quote: "If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it."

[–]Sproutykins 4 points5 points ago

My favorite quote of his is whenever he speaks. Seriously, he has some amazing lines and is more like able than the main character.

[–]feanturi 2 points3 points ago

It made me proclaim the rise of Gus II. Badass Walt.

[–]Cargussy 1 point2 points ago

I honestly thought Saul was gonna start crying. Like break down in a teary mess. That's how scared he looked.

[–]mambypambyland 0 points1 point ago

I KNOW!!! And Saul is the most lovable character imo. It's like making an adorable little girl cry.

[–]Awkward_Plot_Twist 39 points40 points ago

Walter is cured. Witness protection places him in a broken home with a single mom and 3 children. Malcolm in the middle takes place in the year 2016.

[–]sarpedonx 7 points8 points ago

The greatest troll in the history of television

[–]groovygonzo 0 points1 point ago

HOLY SHIT!!!

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

I AM THE DANGER

[–]LE_LE_LE_STFU 9 points10 points ago

DIPPING STICKS, SKYLAR.

[–]sarpedonx 2 points3 points ago

I am the one who knocks

[–]HotRodLincoln 2 points3 points ago

I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS

[–]pianoyeah 7 points8 points ago

because breaking's bad

[–]jellystone 12 points13 points ago

If this was r/breakingbad, you'd have somebody slap a spoiler tag on your title.

[–]ElRedditoRoboto 13 points14 points ago

Well, in his defense, it doesn't really give much away. That scene was also in the season 5 previews.

[–]rDr4g0n 7 points8 points ago

I despise "ON NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE!" and previews and stuff. The writers and directors of the show spent a tremendous amount of time crafting a narrative that is designed to be slowly unfolded and then marketing is like "DURP SHOW THEM ALL THE THINGS!".

I don't need some commercial or something to whet my appetite. If I am watching it on cable (rarely) then it is a show that I am willing to take time out for and don't need to be strung along with marketing.

[–]ElRedditoRoboto 2 points3 points ago

I agree. I change the channel or turn the TV off because I don't want half of next week's episode spoiled for me.

[–]KennyFuckingPowers 0 points1 point ago

The worst is for people who haven't seen the show. There's a spoiler right I'm the preview of a very explosive moment in the show that I had a hard time facing, it's ruined for anyone currently catching up

[–]Chimerathon 2 points3 points ago

What's worse is when a game asks you if you want to change the difficulty setting because you died so much on one part. FUCK YOU GAME I CAN BEAT YOU

[–]Galmkrab 1 point2 points ago

I was surprised to see this kind of message in a game like Anno.

Clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0BuC2OrVIU

[–]sarpedonx 1 point2 points ago

Hahahahaha. I think every gamer will agree wholeheartedly with this

[–]asplashofredditsauce 1 point2 points ago

DING DING DING DING DING

[–]purplepain13 1 point2 points ago

Before my younger brother could read, he assumed that this message meant, "Do not leave the WiiMote near an open window"

[–]ThatRedHairedGirl 1 point2 points ago

All of my fellow IT interns where I work suggested this show to me. I didn't want to give it a chance for the longest time, but I'm glad I did. It is so entertaining and I can't just start and episode and "finish it later". I'm stuck on the couch watching it till the very end!

[–]cancernigger 0 points1 point ago

I view everything on television and movies through the lens of propaganda, so I can't really watch a show that's about how bad crystal meth is. It's cheap and makes me feel dirty to watch.

[–]ThatRedHairedGirl 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, I do feel dirty watching it sometimes. But maybe that is why I find it facinating. It is my guilty pleasure.

[–]cancernigger 0 points1 point ago

If I'm going to watch smut I prefer to do it in a way that doesn't take hours to get satisfaction.

[–]ThatRedHairedGirl 0 points1 point ago

To each his own. What sort of smut do you recommend?

[–]cancernigger 0 points1 point ago

My fetishes are weird and silly and I don't like to talk about them.

[–]jesperu97 1 point2 points ago

My father bought this game just when it came out, i think i was about 4 years old then and my father was on his way to complete the game, but he went to bed and turned the computer off and did the usual. The day after that he was doing some work in the garden when i felt like seeing what the game was like, and boy he was angry after how much i f*cked up things.

[–]fearxile 2 points3 points ago

I seriously thought of creating this last night while playing the Wii. Fucking weird. No karma for me.

[–]imaunitard[S] 12 points13 points ago

You should have worn your tinfoil hat to protect your brain waves from me. Muahaha!!!!!!!!

[–]fearxile 2 points3 points ago

I guess great minds think alike. Eh? Eh?

[–]feanturi 6 points7 points ago

Or fools seldom differ. ;)

[–]townidiot 1 point2 points ago

I've always joked about this with friends as being Nintendo's way of telling us to jump out of a window mid-game.

[–]glowingscreen 1 point2 points ago

I have a question for anyone and everyone who watched this week's episode.

Did anyone else find the scene where Walt is massaging Jesse's shoulders kind of homoerotic?

The final scene of the episode serves as a pretty intense reminder that Walt isn't getting any action from his wife. Perhaps he will begin looking elsewhere (if only subconsciously).

Either that, or the show's writers just want to inspire some new fanfic. Fifty Shades of White?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

I get that one a lot on my 3DS when I forget about it, or use it to listen to music at my computer without looking at it.

[–]fuzzyperson98 0 points1 point ago

Why not try having a break, Sire?

[–]efratco6319 0 points1 point ago

I wish more games would remind me to take a break...

[–]hammdog 0 points1 point ago

Why not take a break, and fly out the window?

[–]mediaG33K 0 points1 point ago

I need to start watching this show. Saw part of one episode a couple weeks ago, now I want to start from the beginning.

[–]dubzilla941 0 points1 point ago

I remember when Metal Gear Solid 4 suggested that I take a break. Too bad that game is like crack.

[–]15rthughes 0 points1 point ago

The wii may make shitty games, but nobody can hate wii sports.

[–]bigs1 0 points1 point ago

The new season has only aired two episodes, and its already chock full of memorable lines.

[–]AirplaneStrikesBack 0 points1 point ago

There's gold in the streets... just waiting for someone to come and scoop it up

[–]Cross88 0 points1 point ago

I've never watched this show. Is that Kevin Costner?

[–]gasung617 0 points1 point ago

No, but watch the show. It's fucking amazing. Season 1 is ok, but 2,3, and 4 are just spectacular. Season 5 is in progress, and I love it.

[–]reddyfire 0 points1 point ago

It's Bob Odenkirk. However at one point in the show his character Saul Goodman says: "I once convinced a woman I was Kevin Costner and it worked because I believed it."

[–]Here_is_a_Down_Vote 0 points1 point ago

lol, people still actually play Wii?

[–]guydude24 0 points1 point ago

I was scared from my couch, even knowing it was a TV show.

I can only imagine how terrified that prick was...

[–]4ourthdimension 0 points1 point ago

Who needs breaks when WE HAVE TO COOK!

[–]ColloquiaIism 0 points1 point ago

Is it common in Japan to jump out the window when you leave the house?

[–]Eddyoshi 0 points1 point ago

Yeah that warning/tip was just w thing to skip

[–]ty12004 0 points1 point ago

I swear that it used to have a small tree top in the window.. Seems like a small detail but I loved it when it popped up because it looked like it was telling me to jump out the window.

[–]redlinechoffs 0 points1 point ago

This is how I feel as player 1 in a Wii game

[–]BucketOfBags 0 points1 point ago

I have spent an infinite amount of millenniums playing the Island Flyover game on that.

[–]Jackmangold 0 points1 point ago

This reminds me of the automated messages you get on Runescape and WoW when you play too long

[–]vessol 0 points1 point ago

I remember in Earthbound on the SNES your IG father would call you and recommend you take a break after playing for a number of hours without saving and quitting.

[–]Heisenberg67 0 points1 point ago

Walter wii

[–]ItsDanimal 0 points1 point ago

Its kinda funny that this is the only scene of Breaking Bad that I've watched, so I actually get the connection!

[–]guydude24 3 points4 points ago

You might want to work on that

[–]smilymammoth 0 points1 point ago

This is what annoyed me with the Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, it basically told me to stop playing once I'd done the first session. I don't know why, but it kinda bugs me when a game does that...

[–]telltaleheart22 -1 points0 points ago

Ive tooken like a 2 year break from wii. maybe if they came out with a fourth half decent game.

[–]heysuess 2 points3 points ago

Tooken? TOOKEN?!

[–]Goo_Back 0 points1 point ago

Tanooki Suit?

[–]dontbeastranger -3 points-2 points ago

Huge fan here - 2 episodes in, im worried the show is 'jumping the shark'

[–]heysuess 2 points3 points ago

Ugh. We need to lose that phrase. Nowadays, somebody says that about every single episode of every single show.

[–]Sven__Hoek 1 point2 points ago

If anything the show jumped the shark with Gus's last scene in season 4, that shit was waaay over the top, but it was fucking amazing

[–]XxandrealphusxX -4 points-3 points ago

Breaking bad :3

[–]Typhron 1 point2 points ago

Fixin' Good.

We need to cook.

[–]frazaod -1 points0 points ago

I like that that little picture suggests the player put down the controller and jumped out the window.

[–]rob1nfly -1 points0 points ago

So many dickish comments here...

[–]adminata -1 points0 points ago

Got 2 luv this 1!

[–]shavetheplanet -2 points-1 points ago

I really should try this show again, everyone is raving about it but the first episode never grabbed me.

[–]Brokim 2 points3 points ago

The first episode is much different than the rest of the show. It's not quite the same vibe. It takes a bit to get going. Season 1 Episode 6 was the first episode that made me go "holy shit that was insane". All 4 season are on Netflix, if you have that.

[–]ZF911 1 point2 points ago

Watch episodes 2 and 3. Those got me hooked.

[–]ElRedditoRoboto 0 points1 point ago

Just try and get through the first few episodes. You'll probably like it, I didn't really like the first episode either.

[–]tres_bien 0 points1 point ago

He said "episodes 2 and 3", not "seasons 2 and 3".

[–]ElRedditoRoboto 0 points1 point ago

OK, sorry.

[–]JDoobs 0 points1 point ago

Spoilers

The moment he finds the piece of plate missing and begs with no one at all to spare him from the awfulness he was about to wrought, I was sold ... pure gold.

Edited for spoiler tag.

[–]Jambz 0 points1 point ago

spoiler magoo!

[–]SGlespaul 1 point2 points ago

It gets much better. The first episode didn't grab me, but it caught my attention and it seemed like it would get better.

And damn, I'm finally on season 4 and it did get way better. It gets good about halfway through season 1, but season 2, 3 and 4 are just awesome.

However we all have our opinions, so you still may not enjoy it.

[–]shavetheplanet 0 points1 point ago

I'm now on season 4. It's fucking excellent. There are some real HOLY SHIT moments. One of the best TV shows I've seen in a long while.

[–]RandomRageNet -1 points0 points ago

I honestly didn't get into it until about halfway through season two. It's a very, very slow-moving show.

[–]PastaNinja 1 point2 points ago

It's a very, very slow-moving show.

You can say that about a lot of shows, but Breaking Bad is not one of them.

[–]broken337 3 points4 points ago

Here is a guy, cancer, meth. Yeah, sounds pretty slow.

[–]RandomRageNet 0 points1 point ago

Five seasons in and they've only covered about a year of in-show time. Yes, it is a slow show.

[–]PastaNinja 2 points3 points ago

Are you watching the show to see the clock roll by, or to watch the events unfold? The amount of shit that has happened in that 1.5 years is staggering.
