      The Chile miners weren't pinned. Parts of the tunnel to the exit was collapsed, trapping them.

      The miners then moved further down into the mine. where they established a camp in one of the caverns. They had water, an oxygen tank and a medicine cabinet.

      They just needed to wait until above ground, they dug an access shaft parallel to the mine, to start elevating people out of the mine.

          If you think that is a big slip, take a look at this. All those enormous chunks underwater to the north of Oahu and Molokai? Fell off the islands and slid into the sea. The landslides would have caused mega-tsunamis as well.

            Tip: In this context, it's spelt "sheer". "Shear" is when you're cutting hair or fleece or whatnot.

            EDIT: I wasn't trying to be a dick, just trying to be helpful... I've learned of the pun now! Rest easy.

            Also, "spelt" is correct in Australian English and most other forms of Commonwealth English, as Vortilex and Elysianknight pointed out.
