Funny how Fargo is in both maps, but using two different states.

[–]INukeAll 4 points5 points ago

Fargo takes place more in MN the ND anyways.

[–]Artrw 6 points7 points ago

Yep, but naming a movie "Brainerd" is just asking for a bad box office.

[–]KittenMittns 0 points1 point ago

Upvote for my hometown... and the truth.

[–]burgerbarn 4 points5 points ago

Why is Wayne's World in DE? Wayne and Garth were from Auroa, a suburb of Chicago. Or am I forgetting a scene?

[–]Meepzors 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, Wayne's World was definitely in Chicago... It had the spindle and everything.

[–]Rise_Of_The_Dragon -1 points0 points ago

Wayne's World is set in Aurora, IL specifically.

[–]advertretro 0 points1 point ago

I know the film isn't too explicit about it, but fight club should be in the Delaware space.

[–]burgerbarn 0 points1 point ago

that's the first movie that came to mind for me.

[–]FountainsofShane 3 points4 points ago

"Hi. I'm in.. Delaware."

[–]thetampafan9 -1 points0 points ago

that was when the show went to network...

[–]AhMannnn 1 point2 points ago

Waynes World specifically made fun of Delaware, it wasn't in Delaware...

[–]SoCalWingFan 2 points3 points ago

Now THAT'S the stuff!

[–]YankeeRacers 6 points7 points ago

Doesn't Misery take place in Colorado?

[–]agravain 2 points3 points ago

yes ..and this discussion came up the last few times this picture has been posted

writing the book in Maine isnt the same as the movie taking place in Colorado

[–]OG3XOG[S] 0 points1 point ago

You're correct! Stephen King DID write the book while in Maine, however.

[–]YankeeRacers 5 points6 points ago

Then why not use Shawshank or Stand by Me? Both stories written in Maine, set in Maine.

[–]Hammer_the_Screw 4 points5 points ago

Because this is not the OP's work, he can't change it.

[–]OG3XOG[S] 1 point2 points ago

Haha so correct.

[–]Rise_Of_The_Dragon 1 point2 points ago

He writes all his books in Maine. That's where he lives.

[–]melatriama 4 points5 points ago

Except Fargo took place in Brainerd, Minnesota. Not that I guess there are a lot of other movies (any?) that actually take place in North Dakota.

[–]UmerakenIdeut 5 points6 points ago

Purple Rain? That's the best they could come up with for Minnesota? Why not Fargo (since that movie actually took place in Minnesota, not North Dakota)? Mighty Ducks? Grumpy Old Men? Juno? Prairie Home Companion? Mallrats?

Well, could be worse... could have said "Jingle All The Way"

[–]chilango2 0 points1 point ago

Mallrats is in New Jersey.

[–]UmerakenIdeut 0 points1 point ago

I thought this wasn't just where it takes place, but where it was filmed...

[–]SoCalWingFan 12 points13 points ago

Replace 8 Mile with RoboCop, please.

[–]SweetTeef 3 points4 points ago

Your wish is my command.

[–]jormugandr 1 point2 points ago

And throw an Escanaba in Da Moonlight or Reindeer Games above it. There's another peninsula of Michigan.

[–]Lamlot 4 points5 points ago

Vermont should also get Super Troopers right?

[–]M_Belvedere 3 points4 points ago

Yes. I was offended that NH, VT, Connecticut, and Rhode Island got lumped into one. I'm from VT and the first thing that popped into my mind was "SUPER TROOPERS"

[–]Lillix 1 point2 points ago

and MA was thrown in there too. Apparently the same place.

[–]M_Belvedere 2 points3 points ago

Of course, its even worse to lump MA in there because you can take literally any great movie that has taken place in Boston and stick it in there. Off the top of my head these 3 good movies are in MA: The Departed, The Town, and The Fighter. All from the last 10 years even

[–]CarnivorousAvenger 1 point2 points ago

Good Will Hunting bro.

[–]lostereadamy 0 points1 point ago

Fuck this map, VT isn't even on there.

[–]Bilibond 5 points6 points ago

Every time I see this map I have to say this. The majority of Fargo actually takes place in Minnesota.

[–]indridcold137 5 points6 points ago

Forgot Alaska and Hawaii and the moon

[–]bustajoe57 3 points4 points ago

Dumb and Dumber get Rhode Island.

[–]That_Tall_Guy 0 points1 point ago

eh, most of the good stuff happens outside of Rhode Island though...

[–]tweak4ever 3 points4 points ago

CL

ER

KS

is one of my favorite films

[–]vanillarain 2 points3 points ago

Road House, eh? I'll take it.

[–]vastbeast 0 points1 point ago

i think it was filmed in utah

[–]wongo 2 points3 points ago

West Virginia has Rocket Boys...isn't that the original name of the book? The movie is called October Sky.

[–]That_Tall_Guy 0 points1 point ago

I came here to say this.

[–]monster_bunny 0 points1 point ago

Still pretty cool.

[–]CtrlC_plus_CtrlV 0 points1 point ago

Pretty cool, but it isn't a 50 state map. Good Will Hunting covers all of New England except for Maine. Delaware isn't on there, neither are Hawaii and Alaska.

[–]SoCalWingFan 1 point2 points ago

Delaware...(wiping tears from eyes from laughter)

[–]Warrhammer93 2 points3 points ago

Fight Club takes place in Delaware...

Edit: Fuck I broke rules 1 and 2!

[–]bobfunland 1 point2 points ago

I thought First Blood was shot in British Columbia.

[–]tyros 0 points1 point ago

Don't know where it was shot, but I think the movie takes place in Oregon, not in Washington like it's shown here.

[–]danimal2011 1 point2 points ago

It was filmed in Hope, B.C., but took place in Hope, WA

[–]Takeitsleezy 0 points1 point ago

Yeah it was. In hope B.C.

[–]apdx262 0 points1 point ago

Goonies was my introduction to Oregon in film. Astoria still looks the same to this day.

[–]danimal2011 1 point2 points ago

As a Washingtonian, this map makes me hate myself. Can we at least get Sleepless In Seattle?

[–]con42scientist 0 points1 point ago

I agree. I'm not even 100% sure what First Blood is.

[–]danimal2011 1 point2 points ago

It's Rambo. I was being facetious (although I could have made it more obvious, I'm sure)

[–]petro47 1 point2 points ago

fast times is a classic, but California has had others i think more worthy of the position.

[–]Lillix 0 points1 point ago

Why does Good Will Hunting take place in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts?

[–]That_Tall_Guy 0 points1 point ago

Boston = all of New England?

[–]con42scientist 1 point2 points ago

First Blood? Is that supposed to be the Rambo movie?

At least it's not Twilight...

[–]1upmuffin 0 points1 point ago

Yeah I liked when I saw this a month ago too and saved it to my reddit folder and didn't reupload it to get karma but that's just me.

[–]Goodykoontz 0 points1 point ago

For West Virginia it should be October Sky, Rocket Boys was the book.

[–]fittuner 1 point2 points ago

So I'm from Scarface? Fuck yeah!

[–]devision 0 points1 point ago

First Blood was shot in Canada, it wasn't shot in WA state.

[–]Ghillieonaire 0 points1 point ago

Why is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas not Nevada?

[–]codename_hardhat 1 point2 points ago

I've never heard of 'Gumpwind' but I would now like to Netflix it.

[–]dr_frootenveg 0 points1 point ago

Why has no one made a good movie set in New Mexico yet? Excuse me, but the Tao of fucking Steve?

[–]i7omahawki 0 points1 point ago

Breaking Bad movie.

[–]goodwallace 0 points1 point ago

This is great. Good choice for Texas. Dazed and Confused came to mind.

[–]yungdoom 0 points1 point ago

replace Clerks with Kids

[–]chazzmcgee 0 points1 point ago

Kids was not new jersey

[–]uselessdegree 0 points1 point ago

I live in Groundhog Day, which I am okay with, because it is legitimately one of the best films ever made.

[–]Pica_Pixel 0 points1 point ago

I'm glad out of all the movies that took place in NY, Ghost Busters got chosen for this.

[–]john_donne_jovi 0 points1 point ago

As a Tennessean, I'll gladly accept The Evil Dead.

[–]Eudaemons 0 points1 point ago

I've never seen Hoosiers...despite living in Indiana. Heck, I've never seen Breaking Away, which is apparently mandatory for all IU students.

[–]That_Tall_Guy -1 points0 points ago

Nevada should be Oceans 11.

[–]jdpvco 0 points1 point ago

Rocket Boys?

[–]Joshkbai 0 points1 point ago

ITT people having problems with the films for their corresponding state

[–]Bart_Dart 1 point2 points ago

Woo! River runs through it! Yeah!

Anyone?

No?

[–]Moon_Whaler 1 point2 points ago

High five brother.

[–]fatdonuthole 0 points1 point ago

And I didn't know a single one.

[–]andysmyth 0 points1 point ago

Rambo First Blood was filmed entirely in British Columbia.

[–]Bowlero 0 points1 point ago

"Sweet! What a cool map. Let's see... Michigan. Michigan... Aha! 8 MILE!? Fucking 8 Mile!?" my thoughts as a Michigander

Why not Robocop or any other movie.

Edit: saw the Robocop edit. THANK YOU

[–]bujweiser 0 points1 point ago

Who else's state movie sucks?

[–]thetampafan9 0 points1 point ago

why didn't we include "night of the living dead" i think that definitely belongs on the map.

[–]JeezyChreezy 0 points1 point ago

I didn't know No Country For Old Men took place in Texas... I thought it was in New Mexico.

[–]Artrw 2 points3 points ago

In the beginning monologue he talks about Plano, all the license plates say Texas, the store clerk points out that Chigurh is from Dallas, and they end up on the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso.

How did you not pick up that it was in Texas?

[–]thetampafan9 0 points1 point ago

very easily the movie was long and blah blah blah blahed

[–]L_ABoundanddown 2 points3 points ago

Came here to say this. I must add, No Country for Old Men was filmed almost entirely in New Mexico, so it is understandable one would think this. Also, it never really states WHERE it was supposed to take place. At least I don't think it did.

[–]JeezyChreezy 0 points1 point ago

Yeah I think you're right.
