Doesn't work that way. Apparently some people (I heard 1% of the population but I have nothing to support that) simply aren't affected by vicodin.

I am also recovering from surgery and agree, Vicodin is pretty awesome. Though it has to be the yellow oval ones, which are the high dosage. The white ones don't do shit.

Take a couple of Aleve or generic naproxen tablets beforehand. It will significantly increase the analgesia, e.g. good effects. As will taking some Tagemet or generic cimetidine 45 minutes prior to taking the Vicodin. Trust me on this, I'm a junkie.
