It's not that they posted it to Facebook, it's that they insinuate it happened relatively close to the time they posted it (by use of the word "just") and that it was the first thing they did. If someone tried to break into your house, you don't run to update Facebook.

you are assuming the first thing they did was post on Facebook. "just" implies recently, not immediately proceeding. they didn't post "omg someone is breaking into my house right now".

maybe i am giving them the benefit of the doubt assuming that they noticed someone trying to break into their house, dealt with it by calling the police, then were still freaked out about it and wanted to tell their frineds.

meh, it is probably a fake post anyway.

I'm thoroughly disappointed in reddit right now. You're correct, acceleration is any change in velocity. Braking is acceleration, period. It doesn't even have to be denoted as negative acceleration or deceleration as you said though, it all depends on your frame of reference.

That depends on whether the act of braking actually changed the velocity, it could merely have reduced the forward acceleration to zero maintaining a constant velocity rather than slowing, and in doing so there would be no acceleration.
