As of now, we are becoming a self-post only community. Pictures, articles, videos and the like will still be allowed, but they'll have to be linked in a text submission and at least a sentence will need to accompany them. This will be enforced effective AUGUST 27th

• This is a place for support. Abuse, pro-suicide comments, tough love, discussion of suicide or self harm methods, religious proselytizing, trolling, or incitement to self harm or violence in comment or pm is strictly forbidden and can result in a ban. • We are not a hotline. There is no guarantee of an immediate response, and there are times when this subreddit is relatively quiet. This does not mean no one cares.

• /r/depression is a place of peer support and a non-judgmental environment. While we encourage our members to discuss what’s worked for them, please refrain from diagnosing others or advocating specific treatments. Courses of treatment and diagnosis needs to be discussed with a medical professional.

• If your post is moderated, please feel free to change it so as to be sub-reddit appropriate and re-submit it.

Please also feel free to come over to /r/suicidewatch. While it is not a hotline and cannot provide emergency assistance, it is a helpful and supportive community for those people struggling with suicidal thoughts.
