And they speak Norwegian in Hell.

Hell is a town in Norway, near Trondheim.

[–]First_thing 58 points59 points ago

Hell means luck in Norwegian.

[–]crazyknowscrazy 6 points7 points ago

And light in German. Like the adjective not the noun.

[–]QQ_Train 18 points19 points ago

True story.

[–]ILL_Show_Myself_Out 44 points45 points ago

I'll believe that when Hell freezes over.

[–]Flunx 63 points64 points ago

[–]Real_Muthsera 30 points31 points ago

It happens with alarming frequent regularity each winter. =)

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points ago

Hijacking this becuase it's near the top, there have been several gates to hell in various culture, although the closest one to norway would probably be Hekla, a large volcano in Iceland. Makes for an interesting read.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hekla About gates to hell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gates_of_hell

[–]SergeantJinto 0 points1 point ago

That one is actually the sign for Hell, Michigan.

[–]2bananasforbreakfast 5 points6 points ago

You forgot the right picture. Here's the train station in hell In Norwegian it means customs handling. Strangely the words mean something completely different in English.

[–]i_cum_barbwire 4 points5 points ago

Engaging nitpicker mode: "Gods" means cargo or goods, so it says "cargo handling". Upvote still deployed.

Also, for the .1% that may be interested in this language, the sign is old and "expedition" is an outdated spelling. The modern spelling is "ekspedisjon" but the pronunciation is still pretty much the same as in English.

Edit: TIL how to spell pronunciation.

[–]rockytheboxer 2 points3 points ago

Pronunciation. Bam!

[–]i_cum_barbwire 0 points1 point ago

Aha, so it´s "pronounce" and "pronunciation"? I wouldn´t have guessed that.

I post Australia as a counter-example

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]Zagorath 5 points6 points ago

What I was saying is that there are many negatives to Australia. That's why, despite a small population, it's a counter-example.

To be fair, it's not a horrible place. I'd much prefer it over India or China, but it has some serious problems. For one, it's crazy expensive even despite the strong (Aussie) dollar. Our political debate is often on a level not too far above that of the US. Social security is pretty good, but no where near Scandinavian levels—same with our education system (which, annoyingly, varies from state to state).

[–]GraveDigger1337 5 points6 points ago

But you get to ride a kangroo to work everyday

[–]LordRuler 3 points4 points ago

ugh. Just finished going through that bloody awful system. Not only does it differ with each state, within each state it is prone to change from year to year. I had 4 different curricula in 5 years of schooling (my high-school years). -.- Yay for 'Stralia.

[–]mrducky78 0 points1 point ago

I thought they fixed that with ATAR implemented in 2010. It means your results at the end of high school is applicable nation wide at all universities (Class of '10). Education education is still state run but thats because it isnt an area for federal government, but instead state government.

STRAYA.

[–]thedugong 1 point2 points ago

Sorry to burst your bubble of negativity, but Australia compares very well on all the measures mentioned in the cartoon.

Sure, political debate is retarded. It is expensive, but the standard of living is still/also very high. Education could be better, but Australia does rank higher than Norway in Literacy. Australia also has a high life expectancy.

[–]Zagorath 0 points1 point ago

Yeah you're right. Australia usually hangs within the top 5 of HDI.

I suppose I was talking about some less measurable—but not only that, less important—factors.

[–]Ijustlostmyjengajam 1 point2 points ago

NO MAN IT'S CAUSE THEY'RE ATHEISTS THAT'S WHY

[–]Groke 20 points21 points ago

[–]The_evilest_of_ducks 12 points13 points ago

I've been there.

It's suprisingly cold there.

[–]Deimos56 8 points9 points ago

So... You could say that Hell has frozen over?

[–]Affably_evil 0 points1 point ago

You got no idea how often that joke is made.

[–]NostalgiaSchmaltz 15 points16 points ago

Brb, moving to Norway.

[–]EdithSnodgrass 43 points44 points ago

Fact Check/Attributions, in case you want to respond to BS on Facebook or something (like this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I_GH0gvWHjY/TxQ4JztCRCI/AAAAAAAAAC0/f20-GgdmLQU/s1600/hi%2BLord.jpg):

[–]thuderroar 17 points18 points ago

Some of those rates are unreliable. For example, the literacy rate shows that Norway is tied for 23, not 41st. Second in that list, aside from around 5 potentials, the top 20 can be excluded as misinformation. Russia and the surrounding -stans are places that have major social and governmental issues. They do not have 99.5%+ literacy rates.

[–]EdithSnodgrass 4 points5 points ago

Thanks for the correction. Just threw the links together from what I could find and must've misread that one. I still can't figure out why the list shows the US also tied at 23rd when the listed literacy rate is so much lower than the others at that ranking. Any idea?

[–]Epicaq 4 points5 points ago

Regardless, it teaches us to be vary of information and treat it with scepticism if it seems to be "too good to be true". Everytime I hear someone say something good about my country in terms of statistics, I usually take it with a grain of salt as the information rarely is correct.

While I agree that you can look at the statistics regarding the living standards in countries, isn't it enough to know whether you're happy living there or not? ;-)

[–]Soltheron 0 points1 point ago

People don't tend to just outright lie, they just don't always use the most recent sources, etc. Norway was first place on the Global Peace Index in 2007, for example.

[–]Auricle_ 0 points1 point ago

If you actually go to the CIA World Fact Book (which is the Wikipedia source), you'll notice that the USA's literacy rate is 99% (much higher than the 86% reported on the Wiki).

TL;DR Wikipedia

[–]2bananasforbreakfast 0 points1 point ago

Literacy in Norway is practically 100% unless you have a severe disability.

[–]CatharticContraband 5 points6 points ago

Isn't part of the reason Norway is so well off becuase they nationalized their oil supply and use the profits to essentially subsidize the population?

What happens when the oil runs out?

[–]Forkrul 3 points4 points ago

We lose 50% of our exports. However, the oil fund is the largest or second largest government fund in the world. IIRC we can completely fund the state for 3-5 years with no income on the current value of that fund. Though we have something called "handlingsregelen" which stipulates that we can only use 2% or so of it each year to ensure that it keeps growing in case we will need the money down the line.

In short, we'll have some time to find something else to support ourselves with, but not much. Otherwise we're fucked.

[–]Matt31415 7 points8 points ago

If I remember correctly (I was an American expat in Norway for most of my childhood), the fund is designed such that it can only be spent on things that are generally agreed upon to benefit the population as a whole.

This is in contrast to the oil-rich nations in the Middle East where a lot of that profit goes directly into the pockets of the royal families.

[–]ThrogArot 7 points8 points ago

We still have a rather large say in the fish industry.

And green power industry.

And cheese cutter industry.

And good technology in regards to aurora research (The organization in charge, earns per 4 kr per 1 kr they receive, a 400% profit)

Good say in boat technology.

And we have a very good say in how to actually FIND oil, since we invented a lot of the equipment for deep sea scanning. Not all, but a lot.

So even if the oil is gone, which according to the latest estimate, and if I remember correctly would be 140 years into the future, we should still be fine...if we actually use some of that money on infrastructure. If not, well...meh, we will still be fine.

[–]swoodilypooper 10 points11 points ago

And cheese cutter industry.

This, friends, is the future.

[–]TimeZarg 4 points5 points ago

Indeed. They hold our ability to safely cut the cheese in their hands.

[–]swoodilypooper 5 points6 points ago

We can only hope that they use their power for the betterment of all mankind. Godspeed, Norwegians.

[–]crankybadger 1 point2 points ago

Don't forget rubber boots!

[–]Soltheron 1 point2 points ago

First of all, the social safety net in Norway has historically been paid for by high taxes, not the government pension fund (oil fund).

Second, Norway has a fuckton of thorium, so they'll be able to put that on the auction house supply the world with fuel for modern reactors.

[–]Zalitara 1 point2 points ago

Actually according to Wikipedia we only have 132.000 tonnes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorium

[–]Magnevv 2 points3 points ago

For the HDI index, try looking at the inequality adjusted one instead.

USA drops from 4th to 23rd... (Norway is still in first)

[–]Revmir 2 points3 points ago

Comparing nominal GDP per capita can be fairly misleading, as it doesn't take into account differing price levels in different countries. Ranking based on Purchasing Power Parity adjusts for price level, and gives Norway a rank between 4 and 6 depending on source. The United States comes in somewhere between 6th and 9th.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)_per_capita

[–]EvilBosom 1 point2 points ago

Holy shit. Their unemployment is 3%, meanwhile us 'Mericans are desperately trying to cut it below 8%!!

[–]reaganveg -1 points0 points ago

Well, Americans are not so desperate to cut unemployment as to forbid corporations from firing people without cause, or to have the government hire them. Norway does a lot of both.

[–]Haxxo 1 point2 points ago

Minimum wage is closer to $25.

[–]crankybadger 0 points1 point ago

Norway is sitting on a shit-ton of oil. Check.

[–]yangx 0 points1 point ago

32% of Norwegian citizens responded that "they believe there is a God"

47% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force".

17% answered that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, God, or life force".

4% answered that they "do not know".

[–]Ijustneedonemoretry 8 points9 points ago

That's what I was thinking while reading, along with "Damn! I wish I was Norwegian!"

[–]Atomicbeaversnack 8 points9 points ago

Damn! I am Norwegian!

[–]JimieVak 2 points3 points ago

You lucky son of a gun... I'm in California, which, while outside the bible belt, has many towns with very strong religious backgrounds. Guess who was lucky enough to be born in one?

[–]TimeZarg 0 points1 point ago

I know that feel, I'm living in Stockton.

[–]Kurre 5 points6 points ago

I'm Norwegian, and I can confirm that Norway is a very secularized country. And even though there are still some religious people here, Religion is a very private thing and shoving it in other people's faces is almost considered taboo. I grew up with somewhat Christian grandparents and a mother who belongs to the Bahai faith, but none of them have ever pushed their beliefs on anyone. When I was born my parents decided not to baptize me and I was never forced or even encouraged become a Christian or bahai through my upbringing. They allowed me to make up my own mind and I am now something like an Agnostic or an atheist. I don't really concern myself with religion at all. makes me feel lucky that I was born here in Norway and not some place where they would cut half my dick of at birth and force me to pray to some invisible man every day.

[–]Samccx19 5 points6 points ago

Of course Norway is going to hell! I mean how can you imagine the scene that would happen if Gorgoroth, Mayhem, Darkthrone and God Seed ended up in heaven?

[–]Zalitara 0 points1 point ago

I think Gorgoroth is still banned from Poland. Their scene show was a little to hard to swallow for the christians over there. Then again it's a little hard to swallow for everyone when you have crucified girls on stage covered in goat blood.

[–]naturalchorus 4 points5 points ago

norway is my "grass is greener on the other side" country.

[–]Avista 2 points3 points ago

And when you show up the ground is frozen solid and the beer costs your right arm.

[–]Soltheron 1 point2 points ago

Thankfully you earn several arms a day due to powerful unions.

Fuck the frozen ground up here in the north, though...

[–]KingEmperor 3 points4 points ago

But most Norwegians are fluent in English, so I don't care whether they speak Norwegian in Hell...

[–]Atomicbeaversnack 3 points4 points ago

I'm norweigian. Guess Hell awaits me then. Buggers.

[–]Affably_evil 0 points1 point ago

Well at least we'll all go down together.

[–]matitties 3 points4 points ago

I'm from Norway and I moved to the USA about 4 years ago and the difference in religious people or religion in general is huge. A large number of Norwegians still belong to churches and religions however, but this is mainly because of tradition and culture. Also, I feel it's necessary to mention that a good amount of the religious people in Norway are muslim immigrants from countries like Pakistan. There are a lot fo these people in Norway and they contribute to the amount of the population that is religious. (Sorry if there was bad English or typos)

[–]Avista 3 points4 points ago

Norway's pretty cool. It's just a shame that all those Norwegians live there.

Kind regards, Denmark.

[–]Soltheron 7 points8 points ago

Do you know why Jesus wasn't born in Denmark?

They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

[–]Avista 1 point2 points ago

Ooh, that was pretty good. I yield.

[–]Affably_evil 2 points3 points ago

Eh. Atleast we're not Swedes.

[–]kakksakka 0 points1 point ago

We are watching your'e ass Dennmark......

[–]orthag 3 points4 points ago

If you put Norway in Hell, you'd end up with a very average place to live.

[–]DaRkSkIbBy 2 points3 points ago

Being Norwegian I approve this message

[–]Sargathanos 2 points3 points ago

Looks like I might be moving to Norway lol

[–]_broderick_ 2 points3 points ago

If this is all true, I'm totally moving to Norway when I get out of college.

[–]Probably_on_Reddit 2 points3 points ago

I've definitely seen this before. Always good though.

[–]Peripatet 2 points3 points ago

So, WTF ever happened to Russell's Teapot? The archive on the website keeps failing to load and it would appear there have been no site updates since 2008. . .

[–]armsaroundparis 3 points4 points ago

RT is my all time favorite webcomic. I was pretty curious about it too so I tracked down the artist, Chaz Braman, on twitter last year. He's a super awesome guy and he gave me access to the full archive which can now be found here: http://imgur.com/a/E3Na0#0

[–]Peripatet 0 points1 point ago

You, sir, are a god among atheists.

Wait, that may have come out wrong.

Thanks!

[–]armsaroundparis 0 points1 point ago

Well, I'm actually a ma'am, but I won't contest the title of god among atheists!

[–]TheSchopenhauer 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, secular countries such as Norway tend to discover lots of oil in the seas surrounding them.

[–]Real_Muthsera 10 points11 points ago

Not to be fecisious. But the US descovered oil in the 19th century, it used that oil to drive it's industrial revolution. It has benefitted from that oil for nearly 150 years in quantities that dwarf even Saudi Arabia. Attracting immigrants all over the world for that entire period who where looking for work. Norway has had it for around 40 years. Yet, today it has the largest budget surplus en the world per capita. Even counting out the oil and gaz export, it still runs at a positive trade surplus. If you read some of the OECD reports, you whould think they have a crush on the country accounting on it's fiscal management.

[–]OiaHandoma 0 points1 point ago

Yes, and now US government/people does not benefit from it's oil resources at all because oil companies does not have to pay for drilling rights. In fact they are given tax subsidized because apparently one of the worlds most profitable industries needs encouragement to go look for oil.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

The USA is the same way with coal.

[–]ejohnse -1 points0 points ago

they also have less than 5 million people in Norway. We have 22 states that have populations of 5 million or more. Its easy to have impressive stats when a country that is smaller than many US States happens to be a kingdom that owns oil and natural gas production. Not to mention has a very culturally homogenous population

[–]Real_Muthsera 7 points8 points ago

That leaves 28 states who are not. One of them being Alaska. Yet, at a 8th of the population Norway have. Alaska produses 400k barrels a day. or in other words, around a 7.5th of that of Norway, Norway produces around 3m barrals a day. Can we agree that their similar in size to population? If so.

GDP per capita:

Norway: $97k

Alaska: $65k

Source

Source2

So your point being?

It's a myth that Norway is particularry wealthy only because of oil. This is not true. There are many factors which contributes to this, some of the most important ones are sound fiscal policy, spread wealth, technology building, nationalization of the energy sector, high education, stable global region, close situation to the market, predictable and stable government, sound mix between taxes and benefits, etc, etc, etc.

Although oil seperates Norway from other similar countries like Sweden, it doesn't seperate it from other similar oil producing countries at a similar population level. It is simply false to make a clear cut cause/effect relation in regards to oil.

Edit: Couldn't find any reliable religous affiliation for Alaska, so I can't to a proper comparison. But it's doubtful the oil to population comparison have little corrolation with secularization.

[–]TimeZarg 1 point2 points ago

Indeed. I would call Norway's oil reserves 'helpful' when it comes to their economic well-being, not 'the only reason they're well-off'. And, when it comes down to it, Norway has other things beyond oil to offer. Technology, fishing, etc. What would Saudi Arabia have if it ran out of oil, other than a bunch of playgrounds for the uber-rich? Could they sustain what technology fields they have without oil money?

[–]Haxxo 1 point2 points ago

Nope. We passed the 5 million in march.

[–]Soltheron 0 points1 point ago

1) Size makes things more difficult, not impossible.

2) The social safety net in Norway has historically been paid for by high taxes, not the government pension fund (oil fund).

3) It's not homogeneity you want to strive for (although obviously it is helpful), it's equality and acceptance, both of which lead to homogeneity in the first place.

[–]Epicaq 4 points5 points ago

It's a gift from god! :D

[–]Jantonnesen 1 point2 points ago

Well, what happened was that Great Britain wanted to divide the North Sea in the 60s (when Norway was still poor) because they thought they would find oil on their side and give the crappy side to the unknowing Norwegians. In other words, they wanted to fool (the little naïve) Norway. Then Karma played its part and almost all the oil was on the Norwegian side. Then the big oil companies, like Shell, came along and wanted the oil. The Norwegians, however, were shrewd and created Statoil, which meant a good chunk of the income would stay in Norway rather than be moved to the big fat Americans.

[–]johannes02 3 points4 points ago

Omg, i wanna go to Norway 70% atheist. FUCK YEAH!

[–]Clysop 4 points5 points ago

As a Norwegian redditor, I can confirm that we are not very religius in this country and that it is good place to live like an atheist in. (sorry for bad english)

[–]vinylscratchp0n3 9 points10 points ago

I wish people would stop apologizing for bad english, the people that do that typically have better english than most of the people in the US.

[–]Epicaq 5 points6 points ago

It's not that the english itself is poor in the US (I guess), but it's that the slang seems to have taken over and is now it's own dialect. People use the slang and forget how and from where the original word came from. We also have that here in Norway. It's quite disconcerning, to be honest.

Yeah, and I forgot the mandatory "Sorry for poor english" :)

[–]Permanentmerkepenn 1 point2 points ago

I'm suprised to see you here Clysop :3

[–]Clysop 0 points1 point ago

Lol, hører du å dom sier om oss, vi skjæm tæll å havne i hælvette hele gjengen!

[–]Reconciliation 1 point2 points ago

Norway is ranked 15th in life expectancy, first is Japan.

[–]Forkrul 3 points4 points ago

Japan has a lot of false info, though. I don't have the articles on hand but basically what's happened is that a lot of people did not report their parents/grandparents dead so that they'd keep collecting pensions and stuff. So a lot of the old people in Japan are already dead, the state just doesn't know it yet ;)

[–]ShouldBeZZZ 1 point2 points ago

I think I'm getting the hang of this subreddit.

[–]Real_Muthsera 3 points4 points ago

Nah, just "less good". =)

[–]Avista 2 points3 points ago

AMERICA BAD, SCANDINAVIA GOOD I think I'm getting the hang of this subreddit planet.

[–]Kuffmine 2 points3 points ago

I'm from Norway but I think Sweden would be a better example. Norway has huge oil reserves making it one of the richest counties in the world. While Sweden has no oil but are still doing almost as well as Norway in the statistics. What is perfectly clear though is that atheism or secularism is hugely beneficial to a nations health.

[–]Real_Muthsera 4 points5 points ago

We really do need to start to dispell these oil myths. There are reasons why Norway is able to manage it's oil reserves better than say Oman or Brunei. Or the countless other countries who have concentrated it's gains in a very select few people's wallets.

[–]Boronx 0 points1 point ago

You got it backwards. Smart people are atheists.

[–]Daneruu 2 points3 points ago

I personally think Sweden is better. Almost as many atheists, similar economic stats, and awesome laws for internet-goers. Also they treat drug addiction as a medical problem, rather than a crime. Also the flag is cool.

[–]Troliver1891 0 points1 point ago

Isn't the atheism rate higher in Sweden? Like, 80%? Correct me if I'm mistaken.

[–]Daneruu 0 points1 point ago

That's what I thought too, but I assumed this comic was more well informed than me thinking of something I read a year or two ago.

[–]Snabelpaprika 2 points3 points ago

Before you praise the Norwegians, remember that they banned "Life of Brian" on grounds of blasphemy. They did however release it a year later, only for people over 18, edited and with a disclaimer in the beginning of the movie that stated that Brian and Jesus are two different people. And the classical reddit atheist heartthrob Sweden advertised the movie as "So funny its banned in Norway!"

[–]KingEmperor 4 points5 points ago

Shit has changed in 33 years you know... Those old folks who were born in the early 1900's and stil ran shit is now dirt.

[–]Real_Muthsera 1 point2 points ago

This enlongated paprika speaks the truth. "Life of Brian" was indeed banned. It's a shamefull chapter in our country's history. Yet, John Cleese frequense this country often. We really should lock him up next time. Not for "Life of Brian". But for being a complete noobhead, who repeatably marries Amarican woman who takes half his stuff each time he finds a new one.

[–]Zalitara 0 points1 point ago

And jews were banned from Norway all the way up until 1851. We used to be pretty huge assholes back in the day.

[–]Zippity70 0 points1 point ago

Stats about Norway true? Looking to pick the best country to live in at the moment for a young couple, and want to a give a few of them trial runs haha.

I guess I need to learn to speak Norwegion... how do they English speaking treat immigrants?

[–]kakksakka 0 points1 point ago

You wont have any problem communicating with anyone here whilst speaking english.. It's kinda our second language ...

[–]Zippity70 0 points1 point ago

That's good to hear. I had a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Norway but being from Canada I know that such lists aren't necessarily accurate.

Thanks. On the list already, every bit of knowledge helps.

[–]dethbunny 0 points1 point ago

How many times can this possibly be reposted?

[–]mipor123 0 points1 point ago

good point and cartoon... but a little insensitive when you think about what happen a year ago... they just had their memorial yesterday.

[–]Epicaq 0 points1 point ago

We won't stuff like that bring us down. Let's celebrate the life of the dead instead of mourning that they aren't here anymore. Can't let one guy ruin the good thing we've got going here.

[–]mydoen 0 points1 point ago

Yes, its pretty great here in Norway :)

[–]flo73557 0 points1 point ago

This is a repost from a long time ago. I still like it though

[–]XperiMental2 0 points1 point ago

Is it hard to learn Norwegian? Because now Im moving there

anyone know if they have any good jobs for chemical engineers?

[–]J_Strauss 0 points1 point ago

Not really. On the other hand, I am Swedish so I have about 80% of their words already. I might have some advantages here...

[–]XperiMental2 1 point2 points ago

haha how about for an american that only speaks a little french and even less arabic

like enough french that i can walk around paris not lost but everyone still hates me and enough arabic to know that i have no idea whats going on

[–]J_Strauss 0 points1 point ago

Well, most of us Scandinavians speak English fluently, or at least very good. As pointed out elsewhere in this thread, it's basically our second language.

I'll leave it to other people to crack a joke about that Arabic will help you more than French, though...

[–]XperiMental2 0 points1 point ago

hahah whats the weather like in scandinavia. Idk if i could deal with 6 months of straight darkness but im sure its not that way in all the penninsula, just the northern parts. What is summer like there?

[–]J_Strauss 0 points1 point ago

The darkness is very exaggerated, unless you dwell in the most northern parts (which few of us do anyway) so you got that right. This summer has been shitty so far (rain rain rain), but mostly we have snowy winters and warm summers. February-april is hell on earth though.

[–]XperiMental2 0 points1 point ago

yea ive seen a lot on reddit about all the rain haha. But if the climate is changing as drastically as some believe maybe it will be the prime location to live in a decade or too when im ready to settle down.

although i would miss america and all its cookyness. Its a love hate type of relationship. Mostly love when im above the bible belt and dont watch the news. The daily show and the colbert report keep me sane

[–]J_Strauss 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, I guess you're right. The whole world is going through drastic climate changes, so I presume a rainy summer every once in a while will have to do. I'd be more scared if I was Dutch.

I know what you mean. I like it up here, but I take every chance I get to go elsewhere for a while. We have an extremely small amount of bible thumpers here (and noone listens to them anyway) and those shows you mention are perfectly accessible via internet; I watch them myself ;)

[–]XperiMental2 0 points1 point ago

Yea I love traveling. Im hoping I can get a job that lets me travel a lot. And i hop e to make it to the Netherlands before its underwater haha. knock on wood

[–]J_Strauss 0 points1 point ago

As for the punchline; yes. Yes, I think they do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell,_Norway

[–]ConfederateDave 0 points1 point ago

Looks like I need to learn norwegian

[–]iL-Le 0 points1 point ago

I'm an immigrant living in Norway. AMA

[–]Scopae 0 points1 point ago

Both Japanese people and Swedish people on average live longer iirc. However the main point still stays true.

[–]dannyboy33 0 points1 point ago

NORGE! FUCK YEAH!

[–]IronLung420 0 points1 point ago

That guys a dick...

[–]Gamedudes 0 points1 point ago

I am a proud norwegian:)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

YEEEEY!!

[–]Darrik 0 points1 point ago

I'm all set, I'll be giving out lessons on speaking Norwegian.. In hell

[–]Real_Muthsera 0 points1 point ago

I don't think this poll is entirely accurate. If you ask many of these 70%, they will have been asked a question if they believe in god. But under that you can also be a spiritualist, new age believer or a gaia enthusiast. Hell, even a jedi. So from an anti dogmatic point of view of a sceptic. I find these polls often less than reliable.

[–]very_old_guy -3 points-2 points ago

Norway's good economy is mostly attributable to North Sea oil. And oil, as we know, is evil.
