At first I was kind of excited to see them, presumably, get crushed. Then I started rooting hard for an amazingly improbable 2-0 win. Then I got sad when they killed a second frigate. I started rooting for them again when the Ferox died, but at that point it was over.

Matches like this show that results should be decided by fans rather then points. Clearly Agony Empire won.

When that Ferox died, I jumped out of my seat.

[–]DoomchinchilaGallente 8 points9 points ago

We were screaming on our voice comms. when the ferox died :(

[–]neonendGallente 4 points5 points ago

It was a fucking amazing setup though. Well done.

As someone who has no idea what this thread is about, but likes an underdog, what was so awesome about the Ferox?

[–]DoomchinchilaGallente 1 point2 points ago

It was the first ship to go down on the Agony Empire side.

[–]GlonnAmarr[S] 1 point2 points ago

Me too. Made 150m on that match!

I was really happy with our setup (we dubbed in Unbreakable, came very close to living up to its name). It's actually very similar to a setup we fielded back in AT8 against Cry Havoc (link).

Definitely the most intense AT fight I've ever been in. Ultimately though Exodus did a very good job and deserved the win, props to them.

I loved how the commentators were giving you "no chance" at the beginning of the match.

Upboat for a creative team set-up.

P.S. Adjust for more DPS and bring it next year. P.P.S. I'm guessing that the Ferox that died was not locked by the Tengu?

Annnnd that not loading in RES is why people use imgur.

Seriously. I was in Agony for a couple months during the winter, I waited the whole tournament expecting a setup like that. They have some seriously creative theorycrafters, even if they don't win, they do something fun.

[–]yogoloprimeMinmatar 6 points7 points ago

Probably the most amazing fight so far this tourney.

[–]InfiniteStrongGallente 5 points6 points ago

I missed the match. what setup did they bring?

[–]PriceChild 5 points6 points ago

I would suggest you watch the video first... but if you can't wait... here's the battle report: http://at.eve-ic.net/10/index.php?view=match&id=119

SPOILER: Tried spoiler tags but apparently they don't work here... so stop reading!!! The Basilisk was bait and wasn't actually the logistics... Exodus didn't realise that it was the tengu repping until there were only a few minutes remaining. Oh and with the ridiculous amount of energy transfer... I think you can imagine the way ASB's were a little easier to use.

[–]InfiniteStrongGallente 1 point2 points ago

I'll just watch the video and read after. big thanks, didn't know where on the ATX site to find the video.

[–]PriceChild 1 point2 points ago

They aren't ready yet but they'll be in that link I gave you... which is kind of annoying as you'll probably see the result before you find and click the link!

[–]InfiniteStrongGallente 1 point2 points ago

I didn't actually as I'm currently alternating between playing Battlefield 3 and watching the tournament.

[–]InfiniteStrongGallente 1 point2 points ago

I just watched the video now. could not stop laughing for several minutes at the setup. that bait Basilisk was genius.

[–]PriceChild 0 points1 point ago

You were asking what setup it was and it was a tough call whether to answer the question you asked, or give you the answer I think you would want!

I wasn't laughing when I watched it, I was really cheering them on, it was so damn close!

[–]InfiniteStrongGallente 0 points1 point ago

I didn't think it was stupid, it was just so ridiculous and crazy. was so sad when they lost the Ferox :(

[–]hyperblasterSansha's Nation 3 points4 points ago

Could only find two of the Agony KM's on Battleclinic (eve-kill appears to be having issues). Team appears to be based on heavy eccm, and energy transfers. Here is what I figured out:

Tengu Logi - 5L+1M shield reps (8km range, 5 max targets). Designed to run entirely off cap transfers from other ships. Dedicated overheat subsystem. 90%/86% th/kin with almost 4000dps tank vs blasters with XL ASB. No prop mod (!??), but has AB subsystem (might be better to use nanofiber sub in that case)..

Gila - Not ASB fit, No prop mod!. Buffer fit pure dps + cap transfers. No idea how you could make a bunch of these cap stable while supporting the tengu. Ogre I's..? Guess the pilot did not have the skills for t2 heavies. Sentries appear to be the main source of dps.

This was the match that kept me on the edge of the seat. When it went 2-0 I was jumping like crazy. Wish it ended like that. In that case, what ever happens onward, it would have been my favourite match of the entire ATX.

[–]toterra 2 points3 points ago

Best match of the tourney in my unbiased IMHO. Nine minutes into it and a tiny window opened up for Exodus that they went through. One or two more seconds and the Ferox would have been receiving reps and Agony would have won with 4 points. No other match was decided on so little a difference.

[–]sithwarrior 2 points3 points ago

Here is a link to the match on youtube: http://youtu.be/Wca4_hty9to

great fight one of the best in at

[–]BruinBombAmarr 2 points3 points ago

My favorite match of the tournament so far

[–]hyperblasterSansha's Nation 3 points4 points ago

Without a doubt the most entertaining fight in the tournament so far!
