You still instill them with your cultural views and morality, religion is pretty much in the same category.

No, I'm pretty sure it's not, and what are you talking about? TIL parents instill their views on culture and morality to the same degree which they do religion.

I don't think you can help but instill them with your cultural views and morality/ethics. However, I encourage them to explore things and decide on their own. Challenging the beliefs of your parents is part of growing up. I also know plenty of people who consider themselves cultural Christians in that they don't believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible, but they more or less agree with the Cherry-picked 'love your neighbor' version and the social network it provides. The religious people who discourage their kids from exploring and challenging their parents view are another story.
