Joke's on you. 10 minutes after the credits ended, Denzel Washington is at Wayne's house in Florence and asks him to join the Justice League.

[–]Seeker185 44 points45 points ago

People do realise post/during credit scenes are in Marvel movies not DC movies...

[–]Purdy14 8 points9 points ago

Nolan isn't really the type of person to do secret endings after the credits of his movies. He has enough content during the actual movie to satisfy.

[–]ttmp22 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, I was fairly certain that there wouldn't be anything else because he didn't do anything for the other movies but I did a quick Google search on my phone just in case and turned up some YouTube links for "Dark Knight Rises After Credit Scene" so decided to stick around. I guess I should've looked for something more reliable than YouTube link titles.

[–]Unfiltered_Thoughts 2 points3 points ago

There was one in the Green Lantern movie.

[–]akebeth 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, but it has become a habit of mine to stay till the rolling credits start. I don't like taking the chance, missed too many already. :/

[–]mynameisomar 2 points3 points ago

It's been my habit ever since someone told me there was an Avengers reference in Iron Man.

When?

After the credits rolled!

How do you expect me to stay in a theater after watching a great movie with such a train-wreck ending?

[–]LuigiLuigi 0 points1 point ago

Anndddd pixar.

[–]biskutt 7 points8 points ago

I'm glad there was no credits scene. I don't think it would have gone with the feel of the movie. He didn't even put in opening credits as I recall. It's all one beautiful uninterrupted thing. A cute little credits scene would have felt cheap.

[–]mikerastiello 0 points1 point ago

I think Nolan has only done opening credits once or twice. None of the Batman movies have them.

[–]The_Slack 5 points6 points ago

You can always tell whether there's going to be at the cinema I go to, they leave the lights off through the credits if there's a bonus scene. They only go back on if the scene is finished or there isn't one. Good service that.

[–]97faugre01 2 points3 points ago

Lights in our theaters work on a timer and go on as soon as the credits roll, regardless of whether or not there's a stinger scene.

[–]The_Slack -2 points-1 points ago

Anyway your theatre can change that? I find it a great little addition to the cinema experience.

[–]97faugre01 1 point2 points ago

Highly doubt it, they're programmed to come on so people can see to leave the screen, however, they're not the properly bright house lights, they're the dimmer ones on the side walls that stay lit during trailers, the main lights themselves we'd turn on once the screen is empty when we're going to clean it :)

[–]areyouthatguy 1 point2 points ago

In the theatre I used to work in the house lights were controlled by a system built into the projector. A small piece of metal tape was placed on the film reel. IIRC (it has been five years since I worked in the booth) it was the size of the tape that determined if the lights went to half or to full.

I have no idea what the digital set-ups are, but this is how it worked just a few years ago with our platter system.

[–]Red_Rifle_1988 12 points13 points ago

I really don't like how these post credit scenes have become a normal occurrence.

[–]n00batbest 6 points7 points ago

Yeah, they've become like those "secret tracks" on CD's back in the day. The novelty has wore off by this point.

[–]chronodestroyer 9 points10 points ago

I do. Almost every movie I see there aren't any. And I always stay for the credits, no matter what movie. Cause that special moment when everyone has left the theater and you get to see a bonus scene is the best

[–]QAPN 11 points12 points ago

spoiler A man can dream!

[–]Ricrac722 11 points12 points ago

No, I like the ending for Blake. If you look carefully you can see that Blake's character was supposed to incorporate all of the robins into one. By that we could assume he became Robin hence his name....or nightwing...or tale Batman's cowl. What Nolan did is that he left it to the viewer what became of Blake.

[–]dhjin -3 points-2 points ago

Really?i felt that it was left a little too open ended, if this is the end of the trilogy, the series, I would have liked some closure with robin/nightwing

[–]Ricrac722 5 points6 points ago

What Nolan wanted is to fill you up but leave you hungry for some dessert, which he accomplished.

[–]mezzizle 0 points1 point ago

Ah, I'm going to use that analogy from now on.

[–]ublaa 1 point2 points ago

He has to be Nightwing, there's no way to do Robin without it being ridiculous

[–]ActionWalrus 2 points3 points ago

That's not really true. Any of the Robins could easily fuck your shit up. They could also incorporate a number of the different characteristics of the 'Robins' into one character.

That said, I don't think a Robin movie could stand on its own without a large Batman influence.

However I would totally approve a Batman and Robin buddy comedy.

[–]mikerastiello 1 point2 points ago

I'm sick of reading and hearing comments like this. Robin might have been cartoony and over the top when he was first introduced and in the horrible 90's movies, but he is really a great character.

[–]MrTokinEdz 0 points1 point ago

I was hoping to hear the Joker laugh at the end of the credits.

[–]mezzizle 4 points5 points ago

I actually yelled out to the person who was telling us to shut up because he was expecting a post credits scene and then I said "This isn't cheesy ass Marvel". Half the people who stayed and my friends starting laughing.

[–]MrZippie 1 point2 points ago

I'm still going to stay 'till the end.

[–]azohrri 1 point2 points ago

I feel that an extra scene after the credits would ruin it. Everything was tied nicely in the ending.

[–]anhvunguyen 1 point2 points ago

I regret staying til after the credits. The movie theater I was at validates parking for 4 hours, and when I got to my car I was at 4 hours and 3 minutes. Staying til the very end ended up costing me $10 :(

[–]MrBenDover 1 point2 points ago

Phew~ i really had to pee after 161 minutes

[–]castleclouds 1 point2 points ago

tbh I'm kind of sick of sitting and waiting through a whole roll of credits to see a short scene of some people eating (that can easily be found on youtube)

[–]casusev 0 points1 point ago

There's been no precedent set for a scene after the credits.

[–]Tim_Drake_Wayne 0 points1 point ago

I wanted a Man of Steel trailer but I know it's too soon. Still, we can dream

[–]areyouthatguy 2 points3 points ago

Did you not get the teaser for Man of Steel before your screening?

[–]Tim_Drake_Wayne 0 points1 point ago

Nope

[–]zq1232 1 point2 points ago

Got shafted...

[–]Unfiltered_Thoughts 0 points1 point ago

I didn't get one at my cinema, so sad.

[–]darthrothgar 0 points1 point ago

Saw it Friday at the theatre near me and they didn't have it. Saw TDKR on Saturday in Ft. Worth and they had it.

[–]velociwaffle719 0 points1 point ago

The IMAX dome I saw it at went directly into the movie, no previews.

[–]cynicroute 0 points1 point ago

I had one, but it was only a short teaser. I would need to see more from it to make any kind of judgement though.

[–]Randompaul 0 points1 point ago

I'm glad I didn't think of that

[–]cynicroute 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, one of my friends said to stay after the credits. I thought it was very uncharacteristic of the Batman movies but I stayed anyway. The joke was on me.

[–]HomerTron -1 points0 points ago

Me too. Nolan was ending his trilogy. Would have been improper to leave any loose ends.

[–]zq1232 -1 points0 points ago

This was a DC movie, not Marvel...were people expecting one?

[–]areyouthatguy 2 points3 points ago

1) Not everyone is as clued in tithe difference as we are.

2) There was a tag in Green Lantern, so there goes the DC/Marvel theory.

3) However, none of the other Dark Knight films have had end credits/button/tag scenes.

[–]zq1232 0 points1 point ago

True, but generally speaking DC doesn't do after credit scenes, while Marvel has done them in almost every one of their films. It almost seems like people just assume there will be an extra scene if it's a comic book movie.

[–]McJiggins -3 points-2 points ago

I wish there was a cameo with The Joker. I wouldn't have minded if it was a stunt double with no dialogue.
