Meeting someone taller than I is about the only time I actually notice height.

I'm a terrible judge of height (I don't ever know how tall I am) so everyone I meet is classified as either taller than me or normal.

Same here, in HighSchool one of my friends picked up the nickname of "the midget". For a long while I was clueless and thought it was due to his facial features being similar to Peter Dirklage.

bwa ha ha - although is it just me or is he one of the best looking dwarfs in showbiz? Look at Vern Troyer in comparison. Although I guess apples to apples, Vern is a midget and Peter is a dwarf?

That friend has grown up to become the most handsome guy (I'm not even gay and I can see it!) around, and has executed the ultimate joke, by coming out as being gay himself! It's hilarious going to bars with him now.

I think all tall men do the "tall guy height duel". You're just walking around town when suddenly you notice a tall guy walking in the opposite direction, You have no idea who is taller until you get close enough. your paths cross, two men enter, one man leaves...

Or am i just crazy..

I do that, although, I mostly have a little internal laugh about how much more trouble with doorways anyone who is taller than me must have.

[–]sixninemedia6'9" | 206 cm[S] 0 points1 point ago

ugh - hate extra carpet padding with standard 7' doorways. I am bald too so the 2mm of skin padding I have between normal entry to a room and a bloodbath that brings me to my knees is a margin of about 1cm

proof that tall dudes are just big teddy bears that just want a snack because our stomachs are the size of a SmartCar.

I'm glad the gif is looking upwards for this situation

Really? I feel relieved when I find someone taller than me! It makes me feel less alone up here.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Yepppp. Basically. When I see a taller girl than me at a bar/restaurant/etc I'm always like "Yesss!! I am no longer the tallest girl in this room".. It's like someone took a spotlight off me or something.

[–]sixninemedia6'9" | 206 cm[S] 0 points1 point ago

no way. all that happens is a bunch of your drunk friends make you stand back to back to see who is taller which amplifies the spotlight on you x100. I am a walking circus side show.

Except for all of my tall brethren on reddit!

[–]zoso336'2" | 188 cm 1 point2 points ago

I laughed so fucking hard at that scene in Session 9

[–]armies-o-noobs 2 points3 points ago

It was the only part that was any good.

[–]sixninemedia6'9" | 206 cm[S] 0 points1 point ago

sadly I agree. that movie had so much potential.

[–]Ihmhi6'5" | 195 cm 0 points1 point ago

There is one guy in my city who is taller than me - he's like 7' something. I haven't seen him in years.

I'd love to meet someone taller... just so I can go "Wow, you're tall."

[–]jgiant7'1" | 215cm 3 points4 points ago

Where the hell do you live where there is only 1 guy taller than 6'5" ? I see guys 6'5" plus every time I leave the house.

[–]Ihmhi6'5" | 195 cm 0 points1 point ago

I should clarify that I have only met one guy taller than me, and by a significant amount. I've met a few people near or about equal with my height.

Newark, NJ btw.

[–]SycoJack6'4" 1 point2 points ago

Well there's your problem, all dem yanks are short. Move to Texas, I'm about average height here.

[–]Ihmhi6'5" | 195 cm 1 point2 points ago

For a second I was like "Wait, are you British...?"

[–]Im_probably_trolling6'11" | 211 cm l 19 years old 1 point2 points ago

How often do you see someone taller than 6'9''?

[–]jgiant7'1" | 215cm 2 points3 points ago

Oh - me me me !!

[–]sixninemedia6'9" | 206 cm[S] 0 points1 point ago

Rarely but when I do it pisses me off. I have one friend that is 7' and it so so unbelievably awkward looking up at him.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

A part of me is happy that there is a girl taller than me for once, A part of me has this sudden feeling that my dominance(?) is being threatened.

[–]sixninemedia6'9" | 206 cm[S] 0 points1 point ago

Can't imagine. My wife is 6'2" and she fits perfect with me. Anything bigger than me would feel like a dude with boobs.

[–]J__Man 0 points1 point ago

that was a good movie

[–]SycoJack6'4" 1 point2 points ago

Same here, and I'm only 6'4", so I often meet people taller than me. It's crazy and weird, since most of my family is like 5'6" or shorter.
