Most relevant usage of this stupid quote I have seen. Bravo, OP

[–]Sarcastastic 34 points35 points ago

Agreed, as much as I despise people who use this quote, this amused the hell out of me.

[–]Nicxtrem99 64 points65 points ago

If you can't handle Gyarados , you surely don't deserve a killer fish.

[–]Captain_Kuhl 10 points11 points ago

After seeing Relicanth, I realized there's nothing at all wrong with Magikarp. I'm leveling my next one to 100 (that's right, all 1,250,000 xp) and teaching him Bounce and Flail. Ain't no stopping me.

[–]Blazingcrono 7 points8 points ago

Your patience might.

[–]BWEM 2 points3 points ago

I assume you've seen this?

[–]Captain_Kuhl 0 points1 point ago

Yes, and it was (and still is) the most glorious battle I've ever seen.

[–]ProxyCare 19 points20 points ago

I think the one thing a trainer MUST do is train a magicarp from 1 to 20 without the day care. Just once to get some prescriptive on how worthwhile training can be.

[–]davidjdavid 25 points26 points ago

When I was younger playing red and blue, I would always buy the Magickarp before mount moon. I would put him in the first slot then switch out to my Charmander. Always had a Gyarados by the end of the cave.

[–]ProxyCare 10 points11 points ago

Good fucking job sir. you earned the hell out of it!

[–]kippig 6 points7 points ago

I did the same, but I used the hidden rare candy in cerulean to get it to 20 and save myself 2k-3k xp grinding.

[–]davidjdavid 2 points3 points ago

I would always get the all ten rare candy to my draginar so it could evolve.

[–]Deesnutz 8 points9 points ago

I always train my magikarp by having struggle wars with wild magikarps. It proves that my magikarp is truly top percentage and superior to all other magikarp (oh and I get those delicious speed evs.)But then again I prefer not to evolve my magikarp Into its inferior evolution and just everstone him after level 19.

[–]RuralNinja 10 points11 points ago

Does EXP. Share count?

[–]ProxyCare 0 points1 point ago

Only if used sparingly.

[–]Sarcastastic 4 points5 points ago

Says proxycare. I'M ONTO YOUR GAMES SURROGATE TRAINER!

[–]kharnzarro -1 points0 points ago

when I played red/yellow i would always buy the magikarp at mount moon and have a gyrados by misty

[–]Addpoke -1 points0 points ago

I never use daycare or experience share for anything. Training a magicarp and abra all by swaping out made having gyarados and alakazam so much more satisfying. Also, training seedot is a pain in the ass. Only having bide for a long time makes it hard to get anything done.

[–]GAMEchief 5 points6 points ago

I use DayCare just for fucking around. Very fun in the first games at least, when breeding wasn't a thing to consider.

Check it after finishing the game. "Your GeoDude has grown 42 levels since we last saw you."

[–]RicyRice 6 points7 points ago

Was fucking around an intended breeding pun?

[–]GAMEchief 6 points7 points ago

I expected a sexy Magikarp, but this is acceptable too.

[–]scrash 8 points9 points ago

Full quote:

"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." — Marilyn Monroe

[–]VulturE 3 points4 points ago

You got his back, bro.

[–]Edghyatt 0 points1 point ago

This is definitely the only thing I think about when I read that annoying quote. I'd post in on facebook but I doubt it'd get any feedback at all.

[–]WhiteAsCanBe 0 points1 point ago

You didn't close the title brackets, hurry before the world ends!!!

[–]spritle6054 -2 points-1 points ago

Or, you know, you could just catch a gyarados in the wild.

[–]Edghyatt 0 points1 point ago

Someone doesn't remember what it was like when Gen 1 was all there was, methinks...

[–]spritle6054 0 points1 point ago

While it wasn't in the wild in Red/Blue, it was in Yellow, the only Gen 1 I've actually played.

[–]Edghyatt 1 point2 points ago

the only Gen 1 I've actually played.

No wonder. Thanks for admitting what made you not get the joke. =)

[–]GodofPH 0 points1 point ago

Or, you know, you missed the joke.

[–]watevs44 -1 points0 points ago

I don't get why everyone hates the quote so much, anyway, very clever OP. Well done.

[–]Edghyatt 7 points8 points ago

Because of the people who post it on facebook, thinking their "love me or hate me" attitude makes them unique, instead of just being attention-seeking... most of them mature eventually, so it's ok.

[–]watevs44 2 points3 points ago

But then that's the people. I don't see a problem with the actual quote. It's like saying I hate knives because last Tuesday someone was stabbed to death with one. I dislike the stabber not the utensil but everyone's entitled to their own opinions, I guess.

[–]trilobitemk7 3 points4 points ago

It implies you (reader of the statement) isn't worth the effort of being treated decently.

[–]watevs44 0 points1 point ago

That's one interpretation. The interpretation I see is that if you (reader of statement) don't wanna be around me in the mornings when I wake up and look like a dragon, then you don't deserve to be around when I'm all prim and proper.

EDIT: I just saw scrash's comment where he revealed the full quote. Ignore what I just said :/

[–]Edghyatt 1 point2 points ago

Hate is purely emotional, ergo mostly irrational. That's just how it works. I wonder if the way you "feel" hate is based on logic and reason.

[–]nomegustanosleep 0 points1 point ago

I put you in daycare you useless piece of s**t.
