Alan is working through Season 2 this summer, and each week, actors Jim Beaver (Ellsworth) and Keone Young (Wu) have been providing their behind-the-scenes stories from the show.

Also, Garret Dillahunt (McCall, Wolcott) stopped by for S2E4's entry to share his insights on my favorite scene of the show (the tense showdown with Ellworth at Alma's claim). Both actors actually responded to my comments and provided new insights about one of my favorite scenes.

I'll gladly take the karma, but you should really thank Alan Sepinwall, whose incredible reviews of many all-time great shows are so good that writers and actors jump into his comment sections to share their views.

I should add a couple notes -- not only did Jim Beaver comment on this year's Season 2 reviews, he also commented on each episode of Season 1 during last year's Deadwood "Rewind." And also, in case people don't click the links, Keone's and Jim's (and even Garret's) comments are not little one-liners saying "thanks for enjoying the show". Each of them type around 600-800 words for each episode, even episodes they're not featured in.

For example, Keone's post in last week's entry (S2E7) mentioned how he wasn't part of the episode, and ended up being an incredible insight into the life of those with small roles on TV shows (especially one like Deadwood, where it's never certain that you'll be back the following week, since no one was safe in Deadwood). They're a must-read for fans of the show and TV in general.

Also, I can't say enough great things about Jim Beaver. Just read his comments -- I dare you not to love the guy.
