Translation: In a spectacular car accident in Franconian/Forchheim a horse was rammed through the windshield of a Ford Focus. Four horses had escaped their pens on the Tuesday evening. A Haflinger collided with the car head on, sending the animal through the car and into the passenger seat. The driver, 26 years old, had no injuries, just shock. However, the animal died at the scene.

My friend was driving late at night with his wife in the passenger seat. He came over a hill and saw a pair of head lights far off in the distance. The next thing he knew, he was off the side of the road, with a horse position much like this one. The headlights were actually the reflection of his own headlights in the horses eyes. The person riding the horse died from bloodloss later that night. Her legs had been torn off and she was thrown several feet into the air before shredding herself to a halt on the pavement. My friends wife died instantly. My friend died of a drug overdose a few years later.

Fun fact. A horse outputs 14.9hp. That is peak power, but that is how you specify a car's power output as well.

this happened by my house when i was a kid. horse got out that was right by a highway with a speed limit of 55 but everyone goes nearly 70.

Anyways the lady driving the miata that hit the horse died as well as the horse.

my friend had that happen. small car and dim lights don't mix well on a country road at night. He had been drinking a little bit and took a back road to avoid heavy traffic. he hit the horse around 55 MPH and it pinned him in his seat. it was around 2 in the morning to make matters worse. he was laying there thinking this was how he would die. then he got really tired and thought that was him passing away. he could feel something wet which he thought was his. He woke up the next morning to a farmer asking if he was okay. it was the horses blood and he got away without any injuries with the exception of some bruising.
