I struggled with moles at my old house. They kept making mounds on my lawn. I have much empathy for your father. One time I sat there with a shovel for about 30 minutes while this mole kept poking it's head out of his hole. If I could have, I would have chopped the thing in two but alas, it was too quick for me. I gave up and poisoned the little bastard.

I always loved those traps you could get that would spring a bunch of spikes through the ground when the mole passed through it. I do remember a neighbor lady going ballistic with a pitchfork at one.

Well ultimately its up to the captor to decide what they want to do with the prisoner. I'll opt for the peaceful solution unless its something that I know will come back and cause further issues.

I always put spiders outside, but mosquitos are killed on sight :)

@ 4:48 he addresses that. Apparently they can do with little or no air for a while... They will want to move out of there and unless you slow them down, they will escape and come back once its dried out.

This is why he rips up the tunnels first. So they will have to dig it up again, making them easy to spot and catch.

Also, someone should patent the "Mole Pole"

When I was a kid we had a Miniature Dachshund and she would always catch the moles in our yard. There was one time when we were watching her and the mole was coming at me and I put the shovel in front of it's path and it hit the shovel and came out of the ground and she picked it up and took it to a neighbors yard. She didn't kill it.
