You may be right about it being a sport, I just have never considered it as such... It's an spectacle that's true, but it's also a traditional activity than involves a sustainable form of cattle breeding wich includes the preservation of natural ecosystems (the dehesas, where the bulls are raised). Bravo Bull meat is actually expensive and appreciated. I understand people watching to a bull getting killed can be sensitive to someone who's not used to see cattle butchering, and it is brutal. But if you can get past the sight of that, you are just aknowledging your position as a human beeing with the species you rely on. At least that's the best I personally can get of it, because it bores me to death. As a side note, people don't cheer on the bull getting killed, there is a strong sense of respect fot the animal, but they cheer when the bull is most brave and the fighter takes more risk. Enjoying the man being killed is not a part of it neither, but aknowledging that the risk is real actually is. People respect bullfighters because others have died doing that job. It's an archaic practice, but I honestly don't think it's something to wish someone's death for.
