actually I get pretty pissed when I see this gif. the guy is minding his own business, gets pushed (technically physically assaulting someone) and when the guy pushes back with just enough force to give himself some personal space, he gets knocked to the ground pretty hard. I've seen this youtube video and a lot of the pranks are funny, but in this one the guy in the box is an asshole.

This is going to sound like splitting hairs and I apologize, but I personally laugh more at the idea of something than the actual act. I don't like what happened in that gif, but the idea of someone in a box violently knocking someone over is hilarious to me, and this gif plays out that idea.

I don't want anyone to do things like this, but if it does happen, it can be hilarious to me.

I wouldn't call getting knocked down human suffering. That's probably the big divide between people who think this is funny and those who don't.

I enjoy being physical and while I am not stupid enough to do this to strangers it is hilarious to do to friends with no real harm done. Is falling on your ass pleasant, no, but it probably didn't give him PTSD either.

It's not so much that people are getting hurt (Although this guy only got pushed down, it isn't on the same level as a stabbing or shooting, which of course wouldn't be funny), it's that they're getting hurt in such a ludicrous way.

That's bullshit! The box, who was minding his own business was just hanging out in his hometown. He then saw a local come by, so he gave him a very light, playful nudge. Barely brushed him. Then the guy outside the box pushed back like he was in a warzone. That racist pig just let the innocent box have it. This infuriated the box, who responded with necessary force.

I think it's fucking hilarious just because there's no way he could do anything about it, with a human coming in to push you, you have a chance to see it coming and react, with a dude in a box all you see is the box start shifting at the last second and that could mean ANYTHING, so it catches you completely off balance

In reverse. It's kinda like the school bully syndrome. You mess with someone for a laugh, and you know he's not going to fight back and just walk away. These pranksters are used to that. Screwing with people who aren't going to fight back. It's free run and maybe you can justify it saying it's just a prank, no harm. I could normally buy that.

But this guy shoved back, and that should have been the end of it. The pranksters should have stopped and walked away, instead they basically attack a guy who was just out for a smoke.

That's no longer a prank. That's actively bullying or aggravating.

You might be able to be unbothered, but for me? If I'm out and about town, I just want to be left alone and go on with my day. Not get harassed by boxes and fake spiders for someones cheap giggle. It's not a lot, but being harassed like that would make me angry and probably ruin whatever I was doing until I did forget it.
