Drunk me: fuck it, I'll buy a couple pitchers for the gang.

Sober me: oh ya, food.

Shit.

ShitShitShitShitShitShit.

[–]9602 66 points67 points ago

beer, it's liquid bread it's good for you.

[–]Mitsumasa 12 points13 points ago

We like to drink till we spew

[–]flyinpiranha 7 points8 points ago

Exact same situation for myself this last Friday. And to top it off I lost my smartphone that night.

[–]timescrucial 2 points3 points ago

oh. one of *those nights..

[–]Safda 1 point2 points ago

I had a 21st on Friday AND Saturday, didn't sleep til Monday night. Oh god I'm broke.

[–]space_monster 1 point2 points ago

my flatmate lost his phone, keys & wallet. he slept on the garage floor next to his car. he didn't think to buzz the intercom for the flat, I was awake anyway & would've let him in.

[–]BornInTheCCCP 0 points1 point ago

So you had a couple of 10oz sandwiches.

[–]Irinicmar 211 points212 points ago

Or, you know, any day of the week.

[–]TX_ambrosia[S] 112 points113 points ago

Major headdesk this morning. Ugh.

[–]schindlerslisp 127 points128 points ago

[–]krustywazoo 1 point2 points ago

This is one of the few gifs to make me laugh out loud. Good job! Have some karma!

[–]BaronLaladedo 5 points6 points ago

i srrsly have to watch this show.

[–]d3r3k1449 22 points23 points ago

Then you'll be saying I srrsly have to read these books.

[–]softmod 23 points24 points ago

If he won't take the time to spell "seriously", I doubt he'll take the time to read through 7 or 8 thousand pages worth of books.

Or maybe he's too busy reading to use vowels, who knows.

[–]Krushchev 9 points10 points ago

I am an avid reader & an abuser of acronyms.

[–]Happypants 6 points7 points ago

"srrsly" isn't an acronym. NASCAR is an acronym.

[–]Krushchev 4 points5 points ago

Srsly? Siiiiiiiigh, fine. I am an avid reader & an abuser of acronyms & abbreviations.

[–]Chazzey_dude 2 points3 points ago

Also see: initialisms. For when you want to make an acronym, but don't want it to be pronounced as a word!

[–]Ritsu_sohma 0 points1 point ago

Am I so ignorant that I never knew that until today? -_-

[–]tutelhoten 2 points3 points ago

That's what happened to me. After I finished watching the second season, I had to know every single piece of backstory and every minor plot there was. You miss out on so much by just watching the show.

[–]_xiphiaz 3 points4 points ago

It's best in that order, it's nice to have an image of what the characters look like when reading. And season one matches so closely to the books it's almost like a script.

[–]BaronLaladedo 0 points1 point ago

y?

[–]Saint-Peer 12 points13 points ago

I just realized 4 days ago I didn't accept my student loan, so I did it on the spot. Today is the day I finalize my payment, but it takes up to 5 days to get the loan approved. If I don't pay today, I get dropped from my classes, and I was lucky enough to get them in the first place.

SHIT

Edit: Followed Jadeycakes advice. Bad idea to let this carelessness happen in the first place. My god.

[–]refinedbear351 15 points16 points ago

I know that feel bro. I'm a broke college junior. Thought about getting a new laptop this morning and decided to look at my bank account over the next couple of months...He understands me...

[–]thesnowflake 0 points1 point ago

if you're thinking of buying a new laptop you ain't broke

[–]refinedbear351 0 points1 point ago

that's what I meant by looking over my bank account over the next couple of months. I was gonna try to save some money but nope.

[–]coke125 3 points4 points ago

Well for me, this is because of the steam summer sale... I DON'T KNOW WHEN TO STOP! HELP ME!

[–]ChunkBunny 3 points4 points ago

I can help. I just need your bank and credit card information. Might as well throw your social security number in there...just in case.

[–]kalarax 1 point2 points ago

nice try, Prince Hajia Aminat Abacha

[–]jadeycakes 3 points4 points ago

This just happened to me last week. Luckily I was able to borrow the money from my parents until the loan money was dispersed. Now the loan money is having a hard time being dispersed and I have very unhappy parents. Curse you and your expensive schools, USA!

[–]Saint-Peer 0 points1 point ago

I'm thinking of doing this too. How do you pay your parents back if your loans are applied automatically to the school?

[–]jadeycakes 1 point2 points ago

Do you not ever get a refund check? If your tuition is paid by your parents then you should get a refund check for the amount of your tuition the loan didn't have to cover. Does that make sense?

[–]Saint-Peer 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, thanks! I have never gotten a refund check as I've always managed to apply my loan on time (loan amount matches tuition fees, never get more than that), except now.

[–]bdvilla 0 points1 point ago

you get loan money dispersed right away? i thought i would have to wait a few months after getting the stuff filled out. i gotta hurry up and get this done if i can get the money soon..

[–]jadeycakes 0 points1 point ago

This was for my summer courses. The courses started on July 1st with an expected disbursement date of July 9th. Loans always come within a week or so after classes start. Grants take a bit longer.

[–]HogglesPlasticBeads 0 points1 point ago

Did you check with your school? Many of them offer short term gap loans for exactly this kind of situation for (at my school) not that much interest. Definitely ask if they can help you out.

[–]Saint-Peer 0 points1 point ago

Unfortunately, being the idiot that I am, the final day has their offices swamped. Took me about an hour of waiting to get through a rep who decided to drop me, and another half hour to get the same rep and help me with anything. They couldn't offer anything, but at least I know of this short term loans. Have never heard of it before, thanks!

[–]HogglesPlasticBeads 1 point2 points ago

I hope it all works out for you. I don't know if every school has them, but my UG did. They're a good resource if you ever find yourself in this situation again. Good luck with school!

[–]Saint-Peer 1 point2 points ago

Appreciate it!

[–]ComebackShane 17 points18 points ago

[–]Melairia 2 points3 points ago

That show is my favorite guilty pleasure

[–]richandwhite 4 points5 points ago

It's like a modern Friends, my former guilty pleasure.

[–]Chazzey_dude 0 points1 point ago

It's my proud pleasure!

[–]CardboardHeatshield 2 points3 points ago

I'm feeling the same way man.

[–]crayola_ferrari 13 points14 points ago

[–]Carlosknowsnothing 9 points10 points ago

Or steam summer sale

[–]nazihatinchimp 0 points1 point ago

This is my pain. And what, like a week left?

[–]aggieemily2013 41 points42 points ago

It's like, "Hm, what can I buy for 12 cents?"

[–]HaterSalad 37 points38 points ago

How much for one mcnugget?

[–]abenton 53 points54 points ago

t-a-x? I didn't order tax?

[–]BlazeOrangeDeer 4 points5 points ago

Ramen. Usually 15c but can be cheaper.

[–]carvex 17 points18 points ago

You know you're broke when you wait for ramen to be on sale

[–]almiller07 2 points3 points ago

Best post of the day, thank you

[–]all4sheets 1 point2 points ago

One banana.

[–]PrestoEnigma 101 points102 points ago

Thought it was going to be THIS

[–]cravf 68 points69 points ago

[–]bmb0x 5 points6 points ago

I'd love to know where this is from.

[–]NapoleonBonerparts 11 points12 points ago

Remember that stupid game where you move your mouse through a maze without touching the sides? Then when you get to the narrowest part, the exorcist girl pops up? Yeah... From that. I feel bad for the kid.

[–]karmaisdharma 0 points1 point ago

hahaha holy shit flashback. I did this to my sister like 10 years ago when she was 8 or 9. I went into the other room and when she came running around the corner screaming I jumped at her and scared her even more. lmao. I'm a terrible brother.

[–]NapoleonBonerparts 0 points1 point ago

Because you scared her? Shit, I used to perfect my Cloverleaf leg lock on my little bro. Hah

[–]TX_ambrosia[S] 13 points14 points ago

let's find a way to mix both.

[–]tolstoyleo 45 points46 points ago

Yeah, fuck, today's only the 16th. Fuck. Broke for another 2 weeks. Fuck.

[–]dellollipop 18 points19 points ago

I hate the paid on the 15th and 30th situation. Fuck it. Fuck I'm poor.

[–]CardboardHeatshield 36 points37 points ago

Try getting paid only on the 30th. The initial reaction is something along the lines of WOOHOO I'M A GODDAMNED MILLIONAIRE!!! and then around the 20th, you start going, oh dear lord how am I going to live for 10 more days on $50....

[–]HaterSalad 6 points7 points ago

Getting paid once a month is the worst. Find someone you trust and give them $100 that they are not under penalty of death to give back until the 20th every month.

[–]zeppelinfromled 100 points101 points ago

Or, you know, create a budget and don't spend more money than you can afford.

[–]efranco12 43 points44 points ago

This concept, I don't get it.

[–]bumbletowne 9 points10 points ago

That's not how it works when you're simply not making enough.

Me and SO were talking about getting married. We work A LOT. A LOT A LOT. To the point where collapsing on top of eachother at 1am is the most contact we get sometimes. We sat down and did the numbers. We only made 16 grand last year... combined. Minus rent, that's 4 grand take home. Rent and food, that's been the entirety of our existence for 2 years.

Starting a business sucks. I make, like, 2 dollars an hour. I get my check on the first. Rent goes out on the second (I have 3 days), I have 30 dollars in my pocket until the 1st of the following month.

[–]zeppelinfromled 21 points22 points ago

If you simply don't make enough, then getting paid half as much twice as often isn't going to help. Neither is giving $100 to a friend to hold it for you. These are solutions for a lack of discipline, not a lack of money.

If you got paid every week, you'd still only have that $30 per month, except it would be in increments of $7.50. Or you could take $30 out of one check and then nothing out of the rest of them. It would be the same situation no matter how often you got paid.

[–]newloaf 3 points4 points ago

You might not have a viable business model.

[–]bumbletowne 2 points3 points ago

You don't say?

[–]acog 3 points4 points ago

I hope it turns the corner for you! Starting a business is brutal.

[–]proggR 1 point2 points ago

Mind if I ask what your business is? As someone who frequents /r/startups and is preparing his own business I'm genuinely interested to know. You can PM me if you'd rather not post it in comments.

[–]mastermike14 3 points4 points ago

I was gonna say I really dont have any sympathy for you since someone making $7.25/hr for 40 hours at 52 weeks equals $15,080 but I guess if you are a small business owner just starting out then yeah it must be kinda rough. What does your business sell?

[–]-__-__-__- 1 point2 points ago

You may not like it, but my last roommate was a cam girl, she was pulling in about $100-200 for 4 hours of "work" a day. And by work, I mean flashing her tits, smacking her ass, and occasionally masturbating if they met her tip goals. That doesn't include all the random gifts she got from her amazon wishlist. She pulled in a ridiculous amount of loot.

There's money to be made online if you're not making it anywhere else. You and your SO could do some sexy time on the internet and make a few bills to pay, well... your bills.

[–]CheeseYogi 1 point2 points ago

But that requires disciprine. Something I rack.

[–]woofers02 0 points1 point ago

But credit cards...

[–]CardboardHeatshield 5 points6 points ago

Yea. It's a bitch. I've found success in putting money to save into stocks, because the effort it would take to trade it out and liquidate it always seems to be enough hassle to make me go, "Maybe I dont need a $300 pair of sunglasses/speakers/earphones/car parts/fishing rod/etc right now..." At least that way, when the 20th rolls around I have $50 in cash and ~$300 (depending on how the market is doing) I can get to if I absolutely must. But then I tend not to touch what I've saved and it accumulates, and that's pretty cool too.

[–]redditvlli 2 points3 points ago

Enjoy it while it lasts. You're about to get taxed a whole lot more for those gains (if the market does well).

[–]CardboardHeatshield 2 points3 points ago

That's what I hear. :/ "You invested in a company that did well enough to pay you back with 6% interest? GIVE ME YOUR MONEY YOU HORRIBLE FILTHY RICH PERSON!"

"Visa gave you a loan and charged you 15% interest on it? They are doing good business!"

[–]newloaf 0 points1 point ago

I don't think you can deny that Visa really is doing good well.

[–]acog 0 points1 point ago

I've never really heard compelling arguments for why capital gains should be taxed at lower rates. I've heard the reasoning (that it encourages investment) but I don't buy it. Capital should be invested wherever it will make the highest return, and the taxes should not distort the markets.

[–]acog 1 point2 points ago

It's true it's going to go up from 15% to 25%. Even then, that's on par with the tax rate if you make $35K - $85K.

If Romney is elected, expect the rate increase to be eliminated.

[–]odd84 0 points1 point ago

Is there some tax law change coming soon or something? Otherwise, I don't understand. If you make money in the stock market you typically pay less taxes than if you made that money anywhere else. What's the alternative? Keeping your savings in cash? Then you don't pay any more taxes but you also don't make any more money. Keep it in the bank? Then you probably earn even less than the stock market returned, while still paying taxes on the gains from interest.

[–]redditvlli 1 point2 points ago

Capital gains taxes are increasing in 2013 due to the Bush tax cuts coming to an end. See how it will affect you below:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_gains_tax_in_the_United_States

If you want my opinion, the alternative you want is an IRA as long as you don't plan on touching the money until you turn 60. You can invest in stocks, bonds, whatever and withdraw the money tax-free at that point. You can even roll over any investments you currently have now to avoid these tax increases.

[–]-__-__-__- 0 points1 point ago

Even with $100k managed portfolio, I'm not making much at all so far. It was sitting nicely at 4% returns until a few months ago when it all crashed and dropped to under my initial investment of $100k. Since then it's only recovered to about 2%. Meh. I guess millionaire level is where you want to be if you want to start investing and seeing any sort of usable returns.

[–]SexLiesAndExercise 0 points1 point ago

You can often ask the bank to limit your withdrawals.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Has anyone on Reddit heard of a concept called budgeting?

[–]dellollipop 0 points1 point ago

I had a job that paid like that... definitely worse

[–]zeppelinfromled 6 points7 points ago

I don't see the issue. If you were paid on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, each check would be less and you'd get the same amount of money. Try a budget, I hear they're helpful.

[–]acog 2 points3 points ago

As a person who's not exactly a spring chicken any more I can say that I don't miss that particular aspect of my youth.

Don't worry, it gets better..... Err, usually, anyway.

This sounded more uplifting in my head before I typed it out.

[–]NJ_Lyons 1 point2 points ago

Paid every Friday aww yeah bitches.

[–]motor_boating_SOB 0 points1 point ago

You are not alone!!

I am wishing my life away...to get to the next paycheck

[–]noirthesable 0 points1 point ago

I get paid 10th/25th. Guess how many times my friends say "I'll pay you back in a few days!" to me when we go out?

[–]Toof 92 points93 points ago

For me, it usually goes, "What did I forget to pay?"

[–]Hachya 11 points12 points ago

When suddenly: BILLS!

[–]GorgeouslyHumbl 7 points8 points ago

This is how I feel every day. Advice to every high school student on Reddit: Learn Linux/Windows systems administration or programming. You'll make mad cash early on in life.

[–]I_Am_Vladimir_Putin 3 points4 points ago

I always wondered, how do you just learn Linux and programming on your own?

Seems complicated as fuck. How long would it take for a person who doesn't know shit about programming.

[–]panders2reddit 3 points4 points ago

Aspergers.

[–]relevantusername- 0 points1 point ago

The best kind of burgers!

[–]GorgeouslyHumbl 6 points7 points ago

It can be complicated, which is why jobs concerning those fields pay a decent amount. I guess the first step to learning Linux is to just start using it. I started when I was twelve or so with Slackware, which is mostly aimed at experienced users (it was my brother's idea of a joke to give that to me when I asked for a disk with Linux on it). You could also take a Unix/Linux class at the local community college. They will probably teach you things like Bash scripting, directory structure, the jist of how the operating system works, permissions, unix utilities, etc. Learn how to accomplish simple tasks at first, like copying a file using the command line. Learn what ssh is, what scp does, and the different flags for tar.

Find things to do. Set up a LAMP server, for example. Or create your own NAS. Get familiar with things like DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, etc. Or you could specialize in things like MySQL and become a database administrator. Here is a post in /r/sysadmin that can give you some idea of what a sys admin does and where you can start learning about the different tools needed to do the job.

As for programming, just buy a book and read the documentation. Head on over to /r/learnprogramming and ask questions. Programming is usually heavy on math and logic so make sure you at least have a firm grasp of intermediate algebra. How long it takes you to learn depends on you and how dedicated you are. Like any practical skill, find projects to do. Build a text based selection game in order to learn how to parse text and how conditionals work, for example. Get one of O'Reilly's cookbooks and do some of those.

[–]NJ_Lyons 0 points1 point ago

How would you make money from it as a highschooler?

[–]GorgeouslyHumbl 1 point2 points ago

Learning this stuff is more of an investment rather than an immediate way to get money. However, if a high schooler is crafty enough... nothing is stopping them from creating something that is marketable (I'm referring to programming). A mobile application, for example. Or perhaps a cool web service or Facebook game.

[–]Enphuego 0 points1 point ago

You just start. Realize that you don't really need to know Linux that well to get a job doing it. For my first job as a Linux system admin all I knew was how to move around the shell and the basics. In the interview I was perfectly honest about my skill set but I showed my ability to use man -k to find the command I was looking for and my willingness to read the documentation to figure out how to accomplish what needed to be done. 90% of the things you need to do will be spelled out in the documentation, if you can follow directions you'll do fine. Almost all the rest can be found with Google.

Keep in mind my first Linux job was back in 2000 and there wasn't nearly the depth of resources there are available today. If you can cut and paste the error into Google you can probably solve it. If you can't hack it, at least you'll make decent money for 3 months before they figure it out and fire you and you'll do better at the next place.

[–]flongo 1 point2 points ago

Funny. This was my plan. Went to school for Business Informatics. Was actually studying windows sysadmin test guides right before I graduated. Then got a job offer for mad cash doing businessy stuff at a mortgage company.

Pro tip: don't ever work for a mortgage company.

[–]GorgeouslyHumbl 0 points1 point ago

Congratulations!

[–]Malpercio 1 point2 points ago

As a 20-year-old making mad cash doing .NET development, I agree.

[–]Irinicmar 7 points8 points ago

It's probably just fantasy.

[–]dsshao 33 points34 points ago

Sounds like OP h-h-h-h-had a good t-t-t-t-ime this week-k-k-kend

[–]darkscream 17 points18 points ago

It's always amazing when you go out thinking "I'll spend $20 on beer" and you come home broke with no idea how much you actually spent.

[–]gemcitytiffany 13 points14 points ago

Went to my class reunion this weekend. Ended up walking home eating a cheeseburger I bought from a food truck and no money left in my wallet at all. Guess I decided I needed to be REALLY drunk to hang out with people I went to high school with.

[–]HaterSalad 3 points4 points ago

This is a universal truth.

[–]cbs5090 2 points3 points ago

That's why I chose the better option. Don't go.

[–]gemcitytiffany 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, I had every intention not to, but it was at a bar two blocks from where I live and the two people I still happen to be friends with guilted me into going. None of us had paid to go to the event, we just sort of showed up and no one told us to leave haha.

[–]zeppelinfromled 11 points12 points ago

If you really have that much trouble controlling your spending, you should leave your debit/credit cards at home and only bring the amount of cash you're willing to spend.

[–]Gumburcules 6 points7 points ago

That sounds like a great way to get stuck on the other side of town, drunk and unable to afford a cab or even a bus back home.

[–]zeppelinfromled 3 points4 points ago

If you're seriously incapable of not saving a couple bucks for the bus over the course of the night, then put money on your bus pass before you go out.

[–]HairyDan 1 point2 points ago

And thats when you walk off all those beers.

[–]auchim 0 points1 point ago

The watch pocket gets a twenty; my cards stay home. When all I have left is the watch pocket twenty, it's cab time. This system hasn't failed me yet.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Hide enough for cab fare under your doormat/rock/something.

Or just stop drinking.

[–]Gumburcules 1 point2 points ago

Or just stop drinking.

Oh wait, you're serious? Let me laugh even harder!

[–]Pornhub_dev 0 points1 point ago

Or sometimes you just didn't plan on going out. Had a horrible friday, took my colleagues offer on a beer or two, which ended up being a lot more than that, and now I'm like "How did I spend so much money in one night".

Only myself to blame, but still sucks. I wish I could force myself to not go out after a real shitty work day :/

[–]zeppelinfromled 0 points1 point ago

I wish I could force myself to not go out after a real shitty work day

This isn't necessarily the solution. I've had some very tight weeks in terms of budget, and I couldn't afford to go out drinking heavily, but I still wanted to go out and spend time with friends, so I'd have a few drinks over the course of the night, but mostly I would drink water or soda. It sucks to have to think about money when you're out like that, but being able to say screw it and buy whatever you feel like all night just isn't a luxury that those of us who don't make that much money can always afford.

[–]welchblvd 0 points1 point ago

Do you work for Lifehacker or something?

[–]lychee-twist 1 point2 points ago

I'm going to have to leave my card at home and bring cash the next time I go out.

Theoretically this is the plan, of course.

[–]DreamerFi 37 points38 points ago

I'm very happy my my bank account, even my bank is! Just now they called me to tell me my balance is outstanding!

[–]MarioBGE 15 points16 points ago

X-post this to /r/gaming.

[–]JustYourAverageDerp 22 points23 points ago

Be sure to mention Steam Sale for max karma. Or Pokemon.

[–]MarioBGE 8 points9 points ago

Or Gaben.

[–]SwypeTips 17 points18 points ago

"When I check my bank account after buying old pokemon games and after the steam summer sale. DAE LOVE GABEN?!!?!!!

[–]tehgreatblade 5 points6 points ago

Also "fuck ea"

[–]thinkforyourself 13 points14 points ago

I know this is a gif, so there's no sound, but I feel like I could actually hear him saying "shit" in my head, very strange feeling. Anybody else have that problem?

[–]TX_ambrosia[S] 9 points10 points ago

since I'm saying it... I can hear it shrug

[–]thinkforyourself 8 points9 points ago

If a fool and his money are soon parted, I'm just getting straight retarded in this mothafucka.

[–]cbs5090 2 points3 points ago

That didn't go where I thought it would go.

[–]AwesomeMcPants 2 points3 points ago

Probably the same kind of thing as this.

[–]JaggerA 1 point2 points ago

It's a psychological thing. I've seen people post about it before, but have never experienced it myself

[–]gamma_greenlifesaver 1 point2 points ago

I ALWAYS hear gifs when someone is talking. It's an amazing experience. It feels like the volume is turned down to .25 and I'm just sensing the sound in my ears.

[–]thinkforyourself 0 points1 point ago

Exactly! I couldn't have worded it better myself, that's exactly what it seems like.

[–]m0nkeybl1tz 4 points5 points ago

What movie/whatever is this from?

[–]doubleE 11 points12 points ago

The King's Speech. Watch it, it's good.

[–]UmberGryphon 5 points6 points ago

The King's Speech, right after he discovers that he doesn't stutter when he cusses.

[–]Hachya 5 points6 points ago

It's not just me, good....good...

[–]WideAwakeNotSleeping 4 points5 points ago

I got paid on the 5th. It's 16th now and I've got like $20 in my account. I have to wait till 5th of August to get paid again.... it's gonna be a tough month...

[–]moskoismycat 1 point2 points ago

This is the only time I enjoy being a tipped worker. I never have to wait for a paycheck, my money comes home with me after every shift.

[–]hotbox4u 2 points3 points ago

i found 50 bucks in my trousers 3 days ago. oh the joy.

today i tried to buy a coke... well i tried.

[–]emmas_reddit 2 points3 points ago

First world problems. Spent my paycheck over the weekend, now can't buy stuff during the week. :'[

[–]Ritoki 2 points3 points ago

This is my reaction to not knowing when my cakeday is. My account says it's been 12 months already (already!?), but I never saw a damn cake slice and I WANT MAH CAKE!!

[–]LOOORN 5 points6 points ago

i try not to think about it. hurts my soul.

[–]ZeroV2 1 point2 points ago

The opposite feeling, courtesy of Don DeLillo:

“In the morning I walked to the bank. I went to the automated teller machine to check my balance. I inserted my card, entered my secret code, tapped out my request. The figure on the screen roughly corresponded to my independent estimate, feebly arrived at after long searches through documents, tormented arithmetic. Waves of relief and gratitude flowed over me. The system had blessed my life. I felt its support and approval. The system hardware, the mainframe sitting in a locked room in some distant city. What a pleasing interaction. I sensed that something of deep personal value, but not money, not that at all, had been authenticated and confirmed. A deranged person was escorted from the bank by two armed guards. The system was invisible, which made it all the more impressive, all the more disquieting to deal with. But we were in accord, at least for now. The networks, the circuits, the streams, the harmonies.”

[–]bdvilla 1 point2 points ago

yup. same. having a girlfriend is the most expensive thing ever. every weekend expense...doubled. luckily she paid for a lot this weekend. still spent a lot.

[–]sinje 1 point2 points ago

this on-screen notification would so be on my future glasses. then make a ka-ching noise as money is added and subtracted....much like Half Baked

[–]lychee-twist 1 point2 points ago

I just did this. "Please be over $100. Please be over $100... Yes! $109!"

I might be poor, but payday's Friday, and I don't have credit card debt!

[–]Wiiboy95 1 point2 points ago

The steam summer sale gets to all of us.

[–]thoughtfix 1 point2 points ago

"Having a life" and "having money" are mutually exclusive. The advantage of being a big nerd is that the decision is already made for me!

[–]FuckinWonderfulWorld 1 point2 points ago

yeah whats up with having no money after you get paid anyways?

[–]FuckinWonderfulWorld 1 point2 points ago

[–]mollshenanigans 1 point2 points ago

That's exactly how I felt looking at my balance after my friend's bachelorette party last weekend. Shitshitshitshitshitshitfuuuuuuuckshit.

[–]Trifur 1 point2 points ago

Always use cash at the bar and never run a tab on your card. It will get away from you and some bartenders will give girls free drinks on your tab.

[–]CatfishRadiator 3 points4 points ago

I dunno what bars you're going to, but if any bar had a rep for that in the city they would lose a LOT of business.

[–]TX_ambrosia[S] 7 points8 points ago

I am a girl...

[–]W0RSTCASE0NTARI0 20 points21 points ago

the plot thickens...

[–]Trifur 6 points7 points ago

Then why are you paying for drinks? I keed, I keed.

They will still use your tab to give other girls free drinks also tabs tend to let you spend a lot more than you expect. Especially if you forget to close it out.

[–]trouttfish 1 point2 points ago

[–]pantheonpie 1 point2 points ago

[–]Swissgiant 1 point2 points ago

You guys need to budget

[–]HaterSalad 1 point2 points ago

It's like someone was filming me this morning. ಠ_ಠ

[–]leoberto 1 point2 points ago

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

How do you people afford $40 on beer every week end. Thats $160 just for beer. After Utilities, mortgage/rent, cable, ext. I just don't see how you do it on anything less than $15 an hour. Do people really just live one day to the next or something? Id lose my mind if I didn't budget, be scared Ill be living on the streets.

[–]pbj192 1 point2 points ago

[–]Bloqhead 0 points1 point ago

This is me during Steam sales.

[–]jumbofighter 0 points1 point ago

Especially during the Steam summer sale..

[–]Dunador 0 points1 point ago

This is me right now. Trying to juggle $50 between steam sale, and food for the week. I just gotta last out til 12:01 AM Friday, and then my check clears in the bank system =D So..4 days.

Also the fact that my A/c went out last night, and kept me up last night, had me buying caffeine pills for work. So there's that cutting into that $50.

[–]agentdynamo 0 points1 point ago

"New York I love you, but you're bringing me down"

[–]seitgeist 0 points1 point ago

That's more how I feel when I look into my Wallet the next morning.
