I hate these 'As a black guy, i still laughed' posts, because it then almost 'validates' the humour for white people. And the 'humour' then validates the stereotype. If you're a black person, whether the joke is funny or not you're just degrading yourself and your race by offering up a joke that mocks you and your people to a forum full of middle class white kids to guffaw at.

What is the purpose of this title other than to pander to white people? 'I'm black, but hey we can all laugh at me and the false stereotypes attributed to my race that this sort of humour serves to perpetuate.'.

More people upvote/downvote than will ever comment. More people lurk and never interact that those who upvote and downvote combined.

The larger a community gets the worse it will become because while people who take the time to create accounts might have an incentive to act civil will always be outnumbered by the masses who slam through r/funny and r/advice animals as quickly as possible mashing the upvote button for anything even remotely comprehensible.

Massive upvotes + hugely negative comments happens a lot because a vast majority of the site never comments. I'd love to see a reddit where a user couldn't use upvotes or downvotes until he had earned them by contributing in some way (besides an initial handful) as it would cut down on this rash of "me too!" lowest common denominator garbage that's becoming a rash in every default sub on this site.
