I sat comparing the two photos for a good while. Why on Earth did they need to photoshop the original. Her waist, skin, arms, breasts, lighting and even the natural wrinkle of her neck as she turns have been manipulated. Actually kind of sickening. In the original she looks beautiful and just... real.

They changed her face, too. Nosejob, less forehead, skinnier cheeks, straightened and lowered eyebrows, redefined jawline, etc.

I couldn't even tell it was Leighton Meester in OPs picture. You're right, it's fucking sickening. When I first saw that pic I thought to myself "My god, when did she become anorexic? And how the fuck is her butt so huge compared to everyting else?" Nothing about that picture works. It's good photoshopping technique used to get a terrible, terrible result.

And her arm/hand, and they removed the neck wrinkle, and did a hell of a job on her face structure, and her makeup was practically reapplied entirely digitally. Color balance and tone changed quite a bit too.

The part that amuses me the most though is that they retouched the red carpet too. No more detritus on the floor.

In the photoshopped version her head looks GIGANTIC. Like an orange on a toothpick. It's a virtual planetoid. It looks much more normal sized in the original picture. Most likely because her waist hasn't been shrunken down to ridiculous proportions.

Normally I roll my eyes at "she looked prettier in the untouched version!" comments, because unfortunately photoshop usually does make the person look (unrealistically) better, which is kinda the point of doing it.
