  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

Haven't there been a few askreddit submissions where redditors were pretty clear that Bill Nye is pretty much a jerk? Not that he isn't sciency and hasn't been educational to many many people, I even saw him speak in public once on climate change and it was genuinely interesting (especially the conspiracy theory stuff about the photographs on Mars being altered to make it look like the atmosphere is reddish when it isn't), but every story I hear of someone encountering him personally has left a sour taste in my mouth - especially compared with someone like Bill Murray. I guess I just don't get the hero/celebrity worship.

He introduced so many scientific concepts to kids, instilling an early love of science in millions. This isn't something just anyone can do: I'm reminded of learning about similar things in classes later on and finding it incredibly boring. Yet we sat down as children and watched his show because it was entertaining as well as fascinating. He may be a jerk at times, but for me, that doesn't affect my respect for him as a teacher.

I definitely agree he has benefited a great many people as a teacher and television show host. But does this relate to your voting a submission with just a simple portrait of Nye and Tyson entitled "science snuggles"? If we're valuing his teaching, lets separate it from the personality or the idolatry. If we want to celebrate his actions, lets post submissions about them, and how they're good actions to model ourselves after, but not get distracted by who specifically did them.

It became less about Bill Nye and more about the fact that to make a claim you need evidence to back it up. Beyond that, before I even began asking for evidence and before shitredditsays...I'm sorry subredditdrama got involved people were down voting comments that I was making that were addressing the major theme of the post I created.

I do have evidence. You seem to be stalking me because you instantly posted a response to something on a completely different post. So why don't you go into my comments and look. Before I once asked for proof to everyone and anyone I was being down voted for no apparent reason. I write to someone who asks why the op is being down voted so much quote, "I am not aware of anything I did to these people, I thought I have only made well thought out arguments. Apparently people just like to direct their hate cannons at things and fire for the fun of it. " I SAID THAT BEFORE I ASKED FOR PROOF AND BEFORE SHITREDDITSAYS GOT A HOLD OF IT. So everyone was downvoting me for no reason, that is significant evidence showing proof of my claim. both these guys have a great approach to personal style that really reflects their personalities. bill is always reserved and conservative in a very classical way, neil is more usually laid back and does lil twists on normal things. i love neil's under shirt with rolled up sleeves that continue into the over shirt. i love em both
