[–]robbobnob 10 points11 points ago

[–]livelikeian 5 points6 points ago

Hmmm, it's an electric-water type.... DRAGONITE, I CHOOSE YOU!

[–]imbendenton -2 points-1 points ago

Came in to make this joke. I'm never on time.

[–]TheExtremistModerate 4 points5 points ago

Just like the plumbtrician.

[–]detroiter1987 55 points56 points ago

A realtor.

[–]SQED 38 points39 points ago

Ghostbusters!!!.. oh wait...

[–]OccamsAxe 20 points21 points ago

No, I'd probably still go with Ghostbusters on this one. It's the only logical course of action to take.

[–]moonbeamwhim 8 points9 points ago

Forget it. The house belongs to Poseidon now.

[–]GoesToE1even 6 points7 points ago

a friend. to meet you at the local bar.

[–]vxx 18 points19 points ago

That's what you get for choosing hydropower energy.

[–]pagan0ne 3 points4 points ago

a plumber... then an electrician?

[–]Mehowthegreat 1 point2 points ago

handy man?

[–]dhdsrcool 4 points5 points ago

If it's raining, a roof guy and then an electrician.

If it's not, a plumber and then an electrician.

[–]pagan0ne 1 point2 points ago

thats a LOT of water to be leaking in through the roof... i'd still call the plumber first.

[–]CitizenPremier 4 points5 points ago

Maybe he lives at the bottom of the ocean.

[–]SpongeBad 3 points4 points ago

I still don't see the problem.

[–]jackovski1991 1 point2 points ago

Let's try flood insurance first, then go from there.

[–]dhdsrcool 1 point2 points ago

That is true, but my mom works at an elementary school and they were having some roof issues and there was a day with a huge amount of rain and lots of flooding in the area which resulted in water shooting out of the power outlets on the first floor in one area of the building.

[–]pagan0ne 0 points1 point ago

I didn't say it COULDN'T happen, just that it was more water than you would expect from a leaky rough and i would still call a plumber first....

[–]Psionic_Flash 5 points6 points ago

Moooooooooooooooom! The electricity is leaking again!

[–]zerg886 1 point2 points ago

Turn off the power so you don't die (if you know how). Then you can get a plumber in to fix the pipes and smash up your wall for you. Then you get the electrician to re-wire your outlet. Or read a DIY book and do it all yourself.

[–]ajkeel 1 point2 points ago

I wouldn't risk doing it myself when water and electricity are involved... I'd risk people i pay to do that job.

[–]peewolf 3 points4 points ago

Something like this happened at my crappy college student housing. I wasn't there, but my roommate went into the flooded basement to turn off the water. Water was just blasting out of a broken pipe of some sort, so it actually was spraying the fuse box. He got the ever loving shit zapped out of him somehow, so he ran back upstairs and just bit the bullet and waited about four hours to get the landlord to deal with it. What a mess, but I'm glad he didn't die.

[–]Mehowthegreat 1 point2 points ago

SOMEHOW! Somehow he got electrocuted from water hitting the fuse box? If you don't know, the hot wires go into the fuse box and through all the breakers or fuses (depending on the type of box it is or how old the box is). There is nothing protecting you from being shocked from the fuse box. There are live contacts just sitting of the box. That's why you shouldn't ever play with those boxes.

That why if the water is spraying at the fuse box, all the breakers and fuses can be tripped. But if the water it still making a closed circuit it's going to zap you, really hard...

[–]peewolf 0 points1 point ago

Oh, yo man, believe me, if I was there I wouldn't have gone anywhere near that shit. He's usually a much sharper guy than that, when I wrote "somehow," I meant I was surprised he would even go into a flooding basement with electrical death crackling through it.I still don't know if he decided to wade around in the water, or what the hell he was thinking.

[–]SlothOfDoom 3 points4 points ago

Looks like the wire valve is stuck open. They should have installed an electrical ballcock to prevent this kind of accident.

[–]Robomath 4 points5 points ago

A restoration/disaster repair company. I work as a project manager for one. They all have emergency crews on call ready to take care of the situations. If my team was called to this situation, we first locate the source of the water and stop it if we can. If not we get a plumber on scene to do it. When water hits electricity, it usually trips the breaker. To be safe, we'd double check that, and make sure it is off. Then the next step is to extract the water, and try to quickly salvage any valuables or contents that can not be saved during a drying process. After the mess is contained, there is a lot of procedures to dry out everything to assure no mold will grow and be a danger to the home owner. If you want me to go into detail with all that I can. If this is a picture you just found and posted, then I apologize for my extremely useless post. If it is your house, let me know if you have any questions I can try to help you with.

[–]DR4G0NG1RL 4 points5 points ago

All I know is I don't think I want to be standing in the water pouring out of there.

[–]cronek 2 points3 points ago

When I was in college the dorm I lived in was a 22-story tower. All of the dorms were apartments, so many kitchen and bathroom facilities throughout the building.

This was in a cold Canadian climate where pipes frequently freeze in the winter if exposed to cold.

With regularity, student residents would leave their windows open and go to class in the winter. I remember multiple times when I would be arriving home and see a waterfall coming out of the 18th floor of the building because pipes had burst and water was gushing throughout the apartment, out the windows and of course into the units below.

A few years after I lived there the campus finally built new residences and I believe tore down the one that I was stunned was still functional with everything that students did to it over the years.

Water coming out of the electrical outlets was a minor problem.

Congrats on reverse engineering hydro-electric power.

[–]Cable12345 0 points1 point ago

How about a new rental agent ;)

[–]ridethepavement 0 points1 point ago

Call Ghostbusters, but tell them to leave Bill Murray at home. He just ruins everything nowadays

[–]kenorb 0 points1 point ago
