When I was a kid I had a horse at my grandparent's farm that I would try to ride. OP's picture reminded me of how my horse would bring me into the middle of a pond to try and get me off her back. I would have to hold my legs up so I wouldn't get them wet. She would also take me under low tree branches to try and make it as unpleasant as possible for me. Even though she didn't like to be ridden she loved to be groomed and we would play games of chase in the fields, the two of us. She seemed more like a big dog to me then a horse.

We had a horse who use to literally almost fall over limping for the first 5-10 min you rode her. We were super concerned and got vets to check her out. Turns out she just didn't want to be ridden. After 5-10 minutes she would start acting normal again
