Tomorrow I'll be adding funds to my steam wallet and buying Portal 2 Co-op pack for me and a friend along with Civ 5(with DLC) and possibly Trine 2(again with mult. copies for friends).

God damn fucking Bank of America blocks my card every time I buy from Steam. They say it is because I'm an American buying stuff in England. I told those cock suckers 2 years ago I was stationed here and they still act fucking surprised when I tell them "yes, I'm in England, and will be for some time."

Isn't card security a pain, sometimes? I live in America and tried to buy something from a British web retailer a few days ago, only to discover that Mastercard (teamed up with Suntrust) has added a new security measure to online transactions: A personal password.

Inconvenient, but fine. I enter some card details and make my password.

Go back to complete my transaction with my new password...password doesn't work.

Try again. Doesn't work.

Try to reset password, now my card/address details (the ones I used just a few minutes earlier) are wrong, and I can't change my password.

Try completing the transaction again, just in case I've been mistyping something this whole time...I get a message that says something to the effect of "This card is now blocked from ever completing this transaction because you've entered incorrect information too many times."

By far my worst online purchasing experience, ever.

If you use an American card while abroad change the URL to:

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=US

I had the same issue with my Belgian credit card while abroad and the friendly girl from support explained that this is a way to fool the system into thinking you're buying from the same country as your credit card.

edit: Wait, it's your bank who's being a bitch... ?

No idea how to solve that, sorry :)

You need to stop buying stuff. Wait til it's a daily deal or it's the last day. Stuff gets cheaper on daily deals. You can buy whatever you missed on teh last day.

Also, if you buy something early, it will go on sale right after to spite you, so unless you want to help a brother out and buy both YS games and Divine Divinity and Avernum: Escape from the Pit, I suggest you save your money and wait for a deal.
