It happens if the dog is held up without it's legs touching anything and air blown across their face as well.

I imagine it might be something to do with an automatic swimming response, but that's entirely speculating, so don't take my word on it.

My dog also does this when we take it in the pool. Shes only about 4 pounds and once you stick her in the water its like she turns into a robot that only knows how to paddle. even when you hold her above the water she keeps going

I used to hold my shih-tzu over an a/c vent on the floor, and she would kick until I put her down. Even if there wasn't any air blowing out of it.

Looks like a Border Terrier.

I agree, it looks like a border terrier, but it could be a mix. That dog has a fairly long snout for a pure border, but then again, not all borders look alike.

I had a very loved Yorkie pass away a couple months ago. It's getting about that time to think about taking in another pet, and if I saw this dog up for adoption, I think my wife would end up getting angry when she got home :P
