Why do we all have that black woman's voice in our head, reading for us?

[–]H37man 1 point2 points ago

I am assuming because it is a common sterotypical black women's voice on t.v./movies. It is like the mexican female voice. Yous so stoopid.

And for some reason they're all called Michelle...

... and Lashawna.

Hey Christians!: Y'all motherfuckers need evidence!

[–]CrazyBluePrime 1 point2 points ago

Sort of funny.

[–]GodBeard 1 point2 points ago

totally, i would love to have jesus stop by.

[–]phlap 1 point2 points ago

If I "had" Jesus, wouldn't that technically be slavery?

[–]Honeydippedsalmon 1 point2 points ago

Historical question time! When did black people start thinking it was a good idea to take up a religion from people who previously enslaved them?

[–]EatRibs_Listen2Phish 1 point2 points ago

Here here! A question I've asked and been called racist for!

[–]Engineer_daddy91 1 point2 points ago

Jesus needs a leg to stand on.....like evidence.

[–]paulallen8 2 points3 points ago

I think its a joke. "Why so serious"?

[–]ToastyRaichu 0 points1 point ago

but he's in a wheelchair and in Guatemala

[–]PerfectFaro 1 point2 points ago

This might be true if he had ever actually existed. Since he didn't, this makes as much sense as saying we need Gandalf.

[–]xsourdieselx 3 points4 points ago

Except in this case we really DO need Gandalf. I'd love to have a smoke with him, and hear of tales from the shire.

[–]PerfectFaro 2 points3 points ago

I stand corrected.

Jesus is pretty well documented as a historical figure. Wether he was the son of God or not is another matter.

[–]KittenMilkComics 1 point2 points ago

I contend that he isn't; or at least that any documentation for his historicity/ existance comes from after he was supposed to have died and is therefore questionably reliable.

[–]PerfectFaro 1 point2 points ago

Actually, he isn't. The evidence for him having existed is based mostly on the gospels, which as we know were written well after he was alive. There is practically no credible evidence for the person mentioned in the Bible as Jesus, which is astonishing considering his supposed importance. If you know of any non-Biblical sources that document his existence, by all means share them with us, because as far we know, there are no reliable historical writings about Jesus at all.

[–]PerfectFaro 1 point2 points ago

It's been pretty well established that the passage on Jesus was not written by Josephus; it doesn't fit in with the passages around it, either contextually or stylistically, and most reputable scholars agree that it was added in the fourth century by Christians. In any case, Josephus works against your claims: even if the passage were true, the Biblical Jesus is someone that Josephus would have written extensively about, not just one isolated example. The fact that he didn't argues against such a person ever having existed.

Isnt Jesus the cause of almost every single war ever?! Really. Religion has caused 10x what conquest has caused.

[–]Jeim 0 points1 point ago

I am pretty sure I am living my life pretty well and morally correct without jesus. So as far as needing jesus not quite sure how that comes into play. In actuality after lifting the veil I was motivated to do more without a religious voodoo person guiding me.
