Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), weight loss photos, posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. Weight loss photos go in /r/loseit, DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

There is nothing we can do about this. Try arguing with the masses, they will call you crazy if you raise this subject. They all sleepily go to war for the wealthy too, they forfeit their lives because the average man is a social animal incapable of thought.

Just look out for you and your own, be smart and keep your nose clean. If the situation gets bad then find some cabin and live off the land for a bit. You can't change the world, the world doesn't want to change. The world wants false hope, let the world have what it wants. You are in charge of your own safety.

I'd like to say personally, that I believe this current system will be superseded, or made completely irrelevant. Everyone continues to bicker about the source of political corruption. I take it for granted that corrupt politicians are going to be corrupt - those looking to take advantage of the system will do so via force, fraud and coercion. It seems to me that "the global banking elite" isn't some kind of unified good 'ol boy's club, but a pathological philosophy. Call it what you want, but your politicians are not your representatives. They worship mammon, as they are loyal only to the financial/monetary system which provides monopolistic privilege to primary dealer organizations, which in turn support the campaigns of these politicians. You guys know this. The entire criminal establishment is likened to factions of a mafia/cartel that force penance from you to keep them off your back.

We, the people, will eventually come up with our own localized solutions. We don't need these so called representatives. I see a future where we make obsolete, the bullshit fake money, the shitty GMO foods, the monopolized energy regimes, the un-health "care", the spiritual regimentation, the conformity schooling, ect, ect, ect. Love your neighbor as yourself and support/create local organizations that help sustain the needy. Don't rely on these criminals to do what we should be doing ourselves. Individuated Unity will prevail. Downvote me if you must, but I love each and every one of you.

That sounds very nice, and I love you all too, but the profane masses are insane and they give these organizations their power. People are not good people, most people are rotten and insane. If you are talking about change then it makes sense if you find a small group of very educated people in order to command a small land, but on the large scale no, it is impossible, the masses are too hypnotized by money, lust, drugs, alcohol, television and politics. They are too easily commanded, too easily enslaved. Those sleepy ones go to war when commanded, to destroy the enemies of the elite. It is hopeless...

Ah, well as much as I agree with you about the insanity of our society, I can't simply give up on trying to educate people. I've personally integrated several changes into my life which several of my peers have picked up on. For example, I've got several friends now who take shiresilver cards to the farmers market to trade for goods. I'm actively trying to form a group in my local community that will help go to local businesses and talk to the owners about accepting alternative currencies. I held information sessions at an occupy about developing a network among other occupy groups to co-opt an alternative currency for exchanging goods. From my perspective, I want those around me to be at least prepared educationally in the case that there is some kind of severe economic downturn.

So while I agree with your sentiments, I believe there needs to be a general shift in the ethos of our culture. This shift happens one at a time, slowly. Shit, the whole thing may collapse before it happens, but at least there will be a few who will know what to do. Our very consciousness needs to become aware of the parasitical reality we have now, and seek out what specifically can make those pathological aspects obsolete. Supersedense takes a lot of research and balls, but it can be done.

How is looking out for others (your family) selfish?

Even look out beyond your family if you can, most aren't that strong though, to dedicate aqueduct resources to so many people.

But you can't and won't change the world. People don't care and they love their dem vs rep politics.

It is absurd how much energy people waste on the issue, it is truly a waste of life.

Voting for a third party or an independent is a good start. Vermont did it (Bernie Sanders) and more states can definitely do it if people just stop being so apathetic and cynical.

Well what I've said doesn't mean you can't go out there and do that, you should. It's energy efficient and proactive which is good. But for God's sake, don't waste your life in some forum, wasting all your energy battling it out with dems and reps. It is truly a waste of life and will change nothing.

Calling this issue "oversimplified" is a complete fucking cop out. 400 Americans control 30% of the country's wealth and it is they who are calling the shots. It is not oversimplified at all to think that our government is basically just the arm of the largest corporations. There is nothing complicated at all about it, unless you're a billionaire you have no voice in the government.

Ah, see I didn't say that money doesn't control things, but thanks for making assumptions. I was saying that there wasn't a single, unified force deciding how to control things.

Single, secret global power conspiracies are completely fictional. There are many competing forces out with the money to make change and they don't all march under the same banner. There is no unified direction. There is no master plan. It's all just chaos. Hundreds upon thousands of different lobbyists waving different briefcases of money pointing in different directions.

Things aren't awful because one over-arching superpower is getting its wish. Things are awful because so many different groups with money are trying to do just that.

But that's a cute little idea you have about the way of the world, as though human beings could actually effectively orchestrate such as thing. Did you just read 1984 for AP English this year?
