Loyal, obedient, easy to train, relatively healthy (if inbreeding is avoided), wonderful for families and children, protective, and of course loving. There's so much ignorance and misunderstanding about this breed. A pit bull will no doubt be my next dog, and I recommend more people consider owning one.

[–]SilentLettersSuck 14 points15 points ago

Aye. Dobermen, GSD, Rotties, and Pitbulls really get a bad rap for having negligent owners.

[–]scnavi 13 points14 points ago

don't forget Akitas and Dalmatians, they're high up on that list as well.

[–]stephwilson 2 points3 points ago

And chows.

[–]Bank_Gothic 1 point2 points ago

Grandma had a chow. Great around people, but basically Genghis Khan to squirrels.

[–]Roxymoron 22 points23 points ago

And also mindlessly slaughtered by the hundreds in shelters because people keep breeding them instead of adopting the ones that are there.

[–]raegunXD 5 points6 points ago

They're the most loyal, happy-go-lucky breed.

[–]BordomBeThyName 5 points6 points ago

My sister recently bought a blue-nose pit, and she is without a doubt the sweetest, prettiest dog that I've had the pleasure of knowing. She's full of energy but almost never barks, she's extremely well-behaved, and she's a great cuddle buddy.

Totally changed my opinion of pit bulls.

[–]carrothouse 22 points23 points ago

What a great picture, sorryirapedyou.

[–]kingsway8605 15 points16 points ago

This picture definitely makes up for the rape

[–]stevetwotheo 219 points220 points ago

Please don't crop the ears.

[–]eeviltwin 103 points104 points ago

Just because they own a dog with cropped ears, doesn't mean they're the one who cropped them. My pitbull has cropped ears, because we adopted her as a rescue from a busted fight dog breeder.

[–]ChocoboWrangler 53 points54 points ago

This. I used to have a doberman with cropped ears that I adopted from animal control. I would have people get into my face and start confrontations about what a terrible person I was for doing it. You know, as my female doberman with uncropped ears was standing right next to him.

[–]lostpatrol 28 points29 points ago

Set your doberman loose on them!

[–]ChocoboWrangler 42 points43 points ago

hah. That dog just wanted to love the entire world and have it love him back. He died last month from living an awesome long life. My female doesn't care about the dealings of us humans.

[–]getDense 36 points37 points ago

Man I hope I die from "living an awesome life." Best way to go.

[–]i_drink_corona 1 point2 points ago

I don't want that shit to kill me though.

[–]ArduinoUno 3 points4 points ago

My friend also has a doberman and she is one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever been around. She looks intimidating but thats all.

[–]ChocoboWrangler 0 points1 point ago

I was told the reason he was dumped into animal control in the first place was because he was being used for Schutzhund training and he kept failing the part where he had to attack someones arm. He just wouldn't do it. I got an awesome dog trained in german (not that I ever used it, he knew english just fine too).

[–]pibblelover 17 points18 points ago

Yeah my puppydog doesn't have cropped ears, but it appears that she has a docked tail because the humane society needed to amputate it for an infection she had when she was rescued, so I get dirty looks.

[–]LifeFailure 20 points21 points ago

What I don't get is this: if the dog looks goddamn happy and well cared for and the owner is taking the time to do things with the dog (eg take it places, etc), what the fuck gives anyone the right to judge that owner for WHATEVER reason? It's like, "look! That owner is doing EVERYTHING right by that dog! Wait... docked tail? Cropped ears? PUPPIES?! BURN THE WITCH!"

[–]pibble 2 points3 points ago

I feel like we should be friends? Seeing as you love me and all.

[–]pibblelover 1 point2 points ago

You speak the truth!

[–]ILike4ChanShh 67 points68 points ago

Just because someone says "Dont crop the ears" doesnt mean they assumed the person who currently owns the dog cropped the ears.. They're simply saying "Dont crop the ears" Sheesh.

[–]metatoaster 31 points32 points ago

Just because tangents don't make a lot of sense, doesn't mean that they don't make any sense at all.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points ago

It's still worth mentioning.

[–]Mucky38302 1 point2 points ago

No one knows how to mind their own business anymore.

[–]IIdsandsII 74 points75 points ago

also, don't circumcise your kids.

[–]vanquish421 76 points77 points ago

Reddit hates circumcision.

[–]chickacc 15 points16 points ago

This is new... Did I miss something?

[–]vanquish421 70 points71 points ago

Basically, any time an article or discussion is posted concerning circumcision, people who are uncircumcised go beyond defending their foreskin and a baby's rights to going on the attack of people who defend their circumcisions. It's just one of the many Reddit circlejerk subjects that you should avoid at all cost if you have any sense of reason. Took me only once and I'll never click the comments section for anything circumcision related on here ever again.

[–]firecrackergirl 5 points6 points ago

Yep... I got sucked into this once. Never again.

[–]Praise_Jewish_Allah 38 points39 points ago

I for one enjoy the fact that I'm cut.

EDIT: For fuck sakes man I just gave an observation, I didnt ask for anyone to dissect the issues of social pressure for me or counteract who I think i am. Take this for what it is, a comment, not some holy text that has no fall outs. /discussion

[–]contentsigh 27 points28 points ago

look what you started

[–]skullk1d 7 points8 points ago

In some cultures, the grandparents eat the foreskin once it's cut off of the gandchild.

[–]nanowerx 15 points16 points ago

Well...guess I am done with the Internet for today.

[–]jonosvision 5 points6 points ago

You gotta laugh at the fact that they usually put it on a banana first.

[–]lajolla 4 points5 points ago

Don't you mean "glandchild"?

[–]Willomo 7 points8 points ago

I'm pretty sure the issue is that people aren't given a choice

[–]Mooberries 8 points9 points ago

Cheers! Who in the hell would actually want all that extra skin... :3

[–]seabass341 1 point2 points ago

That's besides the point as far as the anti-circumcision argument goes. I hope you're aware of that.

The fact that a woman in Sudan might say: "I for one enjoy the fact that I was circumcised" does not mean that FGM is ok.

[–]wheatfields 0 points1 point ago

Awesome! I am cut and don't like it. I am envious of you ALMOST as much as I am envious of guys who still have all their factory settings intact. :p

[–]RandyDangle 1 point2 points ago

circlejerk^

[–]yousedditreddit 1 point2 points ago

I'm glad i got circumcised, I have a very handsome, low maintenance penis. Explain to me why I should hate the fact that I'm cut?

[–]GlacialDrift 14 points15 points ago

Nobody really cares about the post-op defenders of circumcision. If you're happy, don't hate it. Good for you.

The issue is that irreversible mutilation of the body is routinely carried out on non-consenting infants.

[–]seabass341 0 points1 point ago

That's because the people who defend circumcision always use arguments that hold no ground and have been refuted hundreds of times. They then use those arguments to justify human rights violations.

I've mostly seen the arguments attacked, not the people who say them.

[–]winterd 1 point2 points ago

TL;DR It's a dick-measuring contest.

[–]centech 28 points29 points ago

Also sign in here to self righteously moan about what a horrible person OP is for not having his dog spayed even though you have absolutely no background or knowledge of the circumstances surrounding this dog.

[–]ferrhis 7 points8 points ago

H.O.O.P!

[–]totalrecarl 4 points5 points ago

It's a doberman, let it have its ears!

[–]Emmanuell89 1 point2 points ago

i like my penis circumcised, it looks much better

[–]Dichotomous_Hippo 13 points14 points ago

I agree. You have a very handsome penis.

[–]DanCorb 4 points5 points ago

Why does it matter what a baby's dick looks like? If it's all about "looking better", then let the person choose to do it when they are 18.

[–]yousedditreddit 1 point2 points ago

I'm very happy it was done at a time when I couldn't remember it, are you kidding me? I would by no means do it now if I still had a foreskin, very very happy I was cut as an infant and now I have this very handsome, low maintenance non weird penis.

[–]seabass341 2 points3 points ago

And you don't see how your opinion might be skewed because you've lived your whole life with a circumcised penis?

If you hadn't been circumcised you could just as easily have said: "I'm very happy it wasn't done."

At least if it wasn't done you would have been given the choice. Now you have to live with it, regardeless of whether you like it or not. And believe it or not, some people don't like that it was done to them.

[–]DanCorb 4 points5 points ago

Wait, you're calling a mutilated penis non-weird? The fuck? Are you aware that circumcision is only common in 'Murica and Third World countries?

[–]wheatfields 0 points1 point ago

Well if you could not get the motivation to have a walk in surgery you should ask yourself how much you really wanted to be circumcised in the first place.

Fuck if there was a surgery that could reverse my circumcision i would be in the operating room in a heart beat!

[–]yousedditreddit 0 points1 point ago

why? what's the benefit to be uncircumcised?

[–]wheatfields 0 points1 point ago

I always find this a weird question. Because its what the natural male body IS for one. Its what a penis IS.

Personally its more about choice, and having control over my own body. In the end all of this is a very personal thing, answers that may make sense to you may not make sense to me and vise versa.

You scratch your head at me, but I scratch right back at your perspective. But this is WHY circumcision as well as any kind of body modification should be a personal choice made by the man and no one else.

A part of MY body is missing. Is it a major part, no. I am still living and breathing, but its still MINE. Would you get angry if you bought a new game system and your younger brother stole one of the controllers? If so, then why not also have a sense of ownership over the ONLY thing you ever truly own in your life- your body. Its mine, and only I should have a say in what goes or stays.

[–]yousedditreddit 0 points1 point ago

you got some skin cut off your dick and you'r comparing it to a part of yourself missing? whatever, fine you're certainly not wrong, and the foreskin does not define a penis, or the male body, or who you are, and either you're being overly dramatic for the sake of the argument or you have a terribly skewed view of the circumstances, there are quite a few complications that can arise throughout a young mans life being un-cut, like how do you explain to your 4 year old who wants to start bathing on his own that he needs to pull the skin back on his penis and wash the excruciatingly sensitive area that's exposed so his penis doesn't become host to harmful bacteria and possible infections? this is one of those things that needs to be looked at on a case by case basis, because both of us have our unwavering opinions on the matter. and your reasons against it are your own, and cannot be wrong because this is an opinion based topic, but they aren't very solid counter arguments.

[–]silverwolf761 3 points4 points ago

You've seen yours both ways?

[–]JackFTL 3 points4 points ago

I would guess no, but I'm sure he has seen the uncircumcised ones and he's glad his doesn't look like that.

[–]seabass341 1 point2 points ago

Well, I'm glad mine is uncut, does that mean we even out? Can we stop talking about the fact that we like our own penises, then? The real discussion should be why we feel the need to impose our beliefs on the body of an infant.

[–]Fuqwon 110 points111 points ago

I don't know why people breed pitbulls. They can be nice dogs, but there are so many 100% purebred pitbulls in shelters.

[–]GrendelGreg 63 points64 points ago

Most of them are bully-breed mutts that get labeled as pit bulls, actually. Few are true APBTs. Your sentiment certainly stands though.

[–]SonOfTK421 8 points9 points ago

As I understand it, there is an active effort to have officially recognized separation between American Pitbull Terriers and American Bullies:

http://theabkcdogs.org/

[–]GrendelGreg 1 point2 points ago

That is awesome! I have some readin' to do.

[–]thattreesguy 25 points26 points ago

why do people care about a "purebred"?

[–]USMCsniper 10 points11 points ago

you can foresee medical and behavioral issues with a purebred

[–]sevlemeth 55 points56 points ago

yes. purebreds tend to have more of them.

[edit] Breeding any species in a closed gene pool (one dictated by phenotypes instead of genetic robustness) automatically leads to genetic defects that cause health problems. This is absolutely uncontestable from a scientific viewpoint. Diseases like hip displasia, autoimmune disorders like Willebrand, retinal atrophy, ingrown eyelashes, intestinal inflammation (canine Crohn's), epilepsy, respiratory illnesses, sinus problems, infertility and even susceptibility to doggie depression - are all common to "purebred" animals. An open stud book does not in any way guarantee genetic "pureness."

[–]LifeBeginsAt10kRPM 8 points9 points ago

The term pure bred is used to loosely, many bad breeders use it simply stating both the mom and dad are "full pit" which usually means "full bully" or some other shit, NOT APBT.

True breeders will keep dogs always health tested and not breed any dogs with defects or health issues, so getting a dog from a reputable breeder is a pretty good way of knowing how that dog can perform in shows/working/competitions..

Very different from just breeding because your dog is pretty.

[–]DasPuppetFunk 6 points7 points ago

I don't know much about breeding animals, but I do have a question. Why does it seem a higher percentage of pure-bred "vanity" dogs can be aggressive? I swear, some of the meanest dogs I've ever met were little tiny lap dogs.

[–]LifeBeginsAt10kRPM 4 points5 points ago

My theory is that these little dogs are usually bought because they are cute and like you said - for vanity reasons, if you notice typically they are bought by busy women who just want a cute animal. They are often neglected and not trained, leading to a unstable dog. I know many females that even celebrate the fact that they are aggressive because they are cute when they do it.

This isn't only with small dogs, it happens with bigger dogs too, but when a 60lb dog has issues in a 1 bedroom apartment it gets sent to the shelter much quicker, or put down, or ends up in the news.

*health issues also come into play with aggressive dogs, pain can make a dog do stuff they normally wouldn't do. If a 10 year old dog bites a human for the first time and it has never been aggressive, I'd go see a vet ASAP.

*Obviously not all owners of small dogs are the same, so I speak to what I normally see. Which is the same reason we see so many bully type dogs in the news - the wrong owners unfortunately are drawn to them

[–]mcnunu 2 points3 points ago

because people forget that these toy dogs are still dogs and as a result need training. What is seen as aggressive behaviour in a larger more powerful breed is seen as "cute" when it's done by a toy breed. If you won't allow a 90lb Rottie to bare his fangs and attack your fingers or constantly paw at your feet for attention, then you shouldn't allow a 5lb Chihuahua to do it.

[–]pippsqueak 0 points1 point ago

It honestly doesn't have much to do with the breed. The most important factor is that most small dog owners do not see the importance in training their dogs, so they wind up with these little untrained monsters.

[–]GrendelGreg 5 points6 points ago

Opinion +1. My family has never bred a dog that hasn't been thoroughly screened for potential genetic problems. Breeders who love the breed will never make a profit off of puppies.

[–]thekingoflapland 6 points7 points ago

People choose the devil they know over the one they don't.

[–]cranberry94 1 point2 points ago

Exactly. I have an Australian Shepherd and his parents had all the genetic tests that show he would not likely inherit any Aussie issues, but I know what to look for. I know that they can have eye issues, I know that some are MDR1 resistant, which means they can have bad reactions to certain medications. I know what I have. Also I know what behavioral issues to look for.

That being said, I completely support dog adoption.

[–]madcatlady 1 point2 points ago

All of my dogs will be thoroughbreds. I do love a good Heinz.

For those who are unfamiliar, Heinz is a food brand in the UK, bearing the claim "57 varieties". A Heinz is a common or garden Mutt, and my hobby is playing "spot the breed feature".

Usually having a beautifully balanced temperament, a wiiiide gene pool, and a proven genetic ability to survive long enough to figure out how to escape the garden and mount the pretty bitch, they make great pets.

Also: New dog show idea - The Dufts. Show off the smartest and most obedient mongrels!

[–]Fudge_is_1337 0 points1 point ago

Really? Thats interesting, I had no idea, I thought people literally just did it because they want to preserve the breed no matter whatever drawbacks there may be. I have a mixed breed dog because we got him from a shelter based on his personality, and I always found it odd that people would go to such lengths to ensure a pure breed. Thanks for commenting, today I learned something.

[–]GrendelGreg 3 points4 points ago

For me personally, I care about utility.

Despite being pets first and foremost, my dogs have also always been working dogs. You can't reliably get that out of a shelter animal, but you've got a damn good shot at it if it has been ingrained into the dog over centuries' worth of selective breeding.

ETA for edification: I own/show/hunt gordon setters.

[–]cranberry94 4 points5 points ago

Gordon Setters are truly beautiful dogs. I don't see nearly enough of them.

[–]sighsorry 1 point2 points ago

When it comes to having dogs for a functional, 'working dog' purpose, I think breeding is more acceptable. However, where I live, most dogs are adopted/purchased merely as companion pets. And a loving dog from the pound can do a damn good job at that.

[–]chips15 0 points1 point ago

Shame you're getting so many downvotes. We bred Cavalier's for a while because they're such beautiful dogs. I think it's important to retain pure breeds, especially uncommon ones.

[–]GrendelGreg 1 point2 points ago

My mother has a CKC! I don't find them particularly beautiful because of their skull shape, but I have never met a sweeter dog in my entire life.

I definitely agree with the preservation of breeds. They are an important part of human history.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points ago

I love you. Just for saying APBT, if somebody asks me about my pit, I ignore them pitbull isn't a breed, lots of breeds fall under the pitbull umbrella.

[–]Blankbank 5 points6 points ago

So if I came up to you and said you had a cute pit, you would ignore me?

[–]mossling 3 points4 points ago

take the chance to educate them, not ignore them. most people have never heard of the apbt. you can't expect opinions to change if you don't bother to give them the information they need to change. also, you are right, a lot of breeds fall under the pit bull (two words, not one) umbrella- INCLUDING the american pit bull terrier. so when someone asks you about your pit, they are not incorrect, you are just being an ass.

[–]Ilikecornandcock 1 point2 points ago

I just let people know about my dogs lineage instead of being a dick about it. Unless you own an APBT, then chances are, you have no idea about them being different. That being said, pits are just as fun loving and cute and my family has had both breeds. I've lived with them my whole life. A dog is a dog and they all want to be loved.

[–]adam_antichrist 1 point2 points ago

We call them American Staffies in Australia

[–]eponymouse 0 points1 point ago

Pitbrella

[–]LifeBeginsAt10kRPM 8 points9 points ago

You need to breed to continue the breed and keep breeding show/working dogs.

That being said, reputable breeder's don't breed that often and do it with a purpose, it's not the same as your backyard breeder which usually only cares about making a buck.

I have no clue about OP's intentions, but I agree, for a house pet bull/bully I would recommend a nice dog from the shelter and giving it a second life.

[–]tacooftwister22 7 points8 points ago

My pitbull was from a shelter and he is the stupidest and most harmless dog I have ever met

[–]whostheshrub 20 points21 points ago

This. I came here to say this. About 75% of municipal shelters euthanize Pit Bulls immediately upon intake, without them ever having any chance at adoption. A study by the organization Animal People reports a 93% euthanasia rate for Pit Bulls and only 1 in 600 Pits finding a forever home. Source I know they are great dogs but it breaks my heart to see this stuff.

[–]sammynicxo 13 points14 points ago

I... If this was a Lab, or a Boxer, no one would be discussing the purpose of the breeding, or suggesting they stop. This is for the "awwww's" - let the damn puppy just be cute.

[–]sighsorry 0 points1 point ago

I disapprove of lab breeding just as I would disapprove of pitbull breeding. However, pitbulls are euthanized in shelters at an overwhelmingly higher rate than that of labs. It makes sense that people would get more worked up over pitbull breeding.

[–]pinktangerine 2 points3 points ago

If this is a professional pit-type dog breeder, then they will have contracts that legally bind the purchaser of the pup to return the dog if it cannot be kept over the course of its lifetime. Professional breeders are a little psychotic about their blood lines, and will spend a LOT in legal fees to ensure their purchasing contracts are upheld.

I'm just saying, not all breeders end up polluting shelters with pups. But the bad still far outweigh the good. Who knows which side the OP rests on, but cute pup.

[–]CheezIt624 1 point2 points ago

I wish more breeders were that crazy about making sure that the dogs go back to them.

[–]pinktangerine 0 points1 point ago

Agreed.

[–]bowtiesrock 2 points3 points ago

Maybe it's an incredibly good dog and they want to continue its line? I had a mutt I got as a child and we found a female (also a great mannered dog) to breed him to because their personalities were incredible. We got one puppy and she is also a great dog. It's not always about money and while I understand saving a dog from the shelter is great, sometimes there is a reason to breed.

[–]hellajaded 1 point2 points ago

It's certainly irresponsible and unnecessary. Something like only 60% of dogs stay in their original home for their entire lives and that's probably lower for bully breeds and APBT.

So, this puppy will not only take a home that could have been opened to a shelter dog, but they may also end up in a shelter or multiple homes throughout its life. Sounds great.

[–]Kowalski416 6 points7 points ago

Pit bulls are nicer than people think, and that's why I wanna punch anyone who thinks they're just mindless attack dogs

[–]AmbientResonance 2 points3 points ago

So much this. I have a pit, and she's the sweetest girl in the world. All she wants to do is cuddle with people and sit all over you.

[–]yellow_ducky 6 points7 points ago

Why am I not surprised the user 'sorryirapedyou' posted something called 'new mama'?

[–]CupcakesBitchab23 0 points1 point ago

Made me laugh so hard when you helped me realize this...

[–]jcmc2112 24 points25 points ago

Please post more pictures of the puppy. I'll give you comment karma :)

[–]VandalayIndustries 3 points4 points ago

For some reason, the photo made me immediately think of this.

[–]Mooberto 4 points5 points ago

What happened to the old Mama?

A banned breed in the UK ... poor mite would be killed:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/homeandcommunity/inyourhome/animalsandpets/dogs/dg_180098

[–]Jooked 5 points6 points ago

I'm from the UK and I believe you need a license to own a Pitbull. They are not completely banned from the UK, although I'm not too sure on the breeding side of things.

[–]CookieFish 4 points5 points ago

It's illegal to breed Pitbulls - all registered Pitbulls have to be spayed or neutered. In theory it should be illegal to own a Pitbull which wasn't alive in 1991, but a court can grant an exemption order to prevent a specific dog from being destroyed - although it would have to be kept muzzled and leashed at all times in public.

[–]Peskie 1 point2 points ago

That's why I pasted the link to the UK Gov website listing information regarding this to avoid confuddleshipness!

[–]NotOverHisEX 2 points3 points ago

I think my face just melted off from the cuteness

[–]patrimac 1 point2 points ago

What happened to the old mama?

You know, in the animal kingdom, it's not uncommon to adopt other animals - even species - as your own. I once saw a female cat giving her milk to a deer calf.

[–]audifan 1 point2 points ago

Is that a Staffordshire bull terrier?

I had one growing up that I absolutely adored. This pic brings back old fond memories. thank you,

[–]chubs33 1 point2 points ago

Fucking gorgeous

SPAY YOUR DOG

[–]MadeByMonkeys 1 point2 points ago

There is NO reason to deliberately breed pits. It is INCREDIBLY irresponsible. Shelters are bursting at the seams with pits. They are the number one most abandoned dog breed.

[–]xxtoejamfootballxx 1 point2 points ago

Adopting a pitbull from the SPCA was the best decision of my life. You are not only saving a dog that will love you forever, you are saving another dog's life who would be put down if there wasn't enough space in the SPCA.

I love how an adorable puppy picture can immediately bring out the anti-pureblood/anti-breeding trolls.

As for all of the people commenting, "Herp derp shoulda got one from a shelter"...lots of municipal shelters euthanize pit bulls/pit bull mixes without ever putting them up for adoption. I know, I used to work for one. The whole time I worked there we never adopted out a pit bull or pit bull mix, not once. All were euthanized within a week of being surrendered/brought in.

So basically in a lot of places if you want a purebred pit bull, you must buy one, or get one from a rescue. But lots of dogs who are in rescue have behavioral problems that many people don't want to have to spend time, money, and other resources dealing with or otherwise rectifying.

Some people just don't want a shelter dog. Period. They should have the option to raise a puppy of their choosing if they want to.

I've kept both purebred dogs and mixed breed rescues throughout my life. Neither kind of dog was superior to the other, and they both - for the most part - ended up costing about the same amount of money to own.

I always wonder if people who get so uptight about the relatively painless euthanasia of dogs and cats are similarly conflicted about the terrible conditions of suffering presented by factory farming that produces ~90% of their meat, or if only dogs are worthy of consideration when it comes to wholesale massacre, being man's best friend and all..

You know what hardly ever helps an argument? Insulting the opposing side. Just because someone has a different opinion than you doesn't make them a troll.

[–]LordOfGummies 4 points5 points ago

Why is there only one?

I have almost the same dog in color as the female. He was rescued. I was wondering what breed this is in the photo. We have been trying to figure out what type of dog he is for a long time.

WHO WAS THE OLD MAMA!?

[–]Nazwreth 0 points1 point ago

Had a pit mix a few years ago. Sweet (to her humans), clingy, needy dog I ever lived with. She wanted nothing more than to be petted and be touching you in some way. At the time, she wouldn't allow our other two dogs (who were not pit mixes) in the large dog house when the weather was bad nor would she ever allow them to eat first. She didn't fight them and they were easy going lab mixes anyway so they just chilled while she ate first. And IMHO there are few puppies that are cuter than a little pit.

[–]BrandieLee 0 points1 point ago

There is a lot of adorable going on in the picture.

[–]rx_tacos 0 points1 point ago

are you really sorry though?

[–]369n 0 points1 point ago

I am not into dogs really, whats this breed ?

[–]ideaash1 0 points1 point ago

I always wondered, when the dogs have puppies, do they let the owners touch and handle the puppies or is it protective towards them? Does it also depend on the dog?

[–]RomanTheCube 0 points1 point ago

Beautiful photo :)

[–]Drag_QueenScene 0 points1 point ago

Pictures like this show how much humanity is in an animal. Thank you.

[–]Magnieto 0 points1 point ago

First thing that popped in to my head was that photo taken during the depression of that sad woman. You know, that one.

[–]schmidt815 0 points1 point ago

Beautiful!

[–]Kellianne 0 points1 point ago

Lovely picture. Mama looks like she loves her little one and is just a little tired. My mom had that look a lot-minus the wet nose and whiskers.

[–]emielou 0 points1 point ago

OMG!!!! That pup is so so cute!!

[–]OneEyedB 0 points1 point ago

OMG, that's a sweet adorable picture....it should be a poster

[–]danetesta 0 points1 point ago

[–]ButtFartMcPoopus 0 points1 point ago

Gorgeous pup, but please tell me you didn't breed the mama on purpose. There are so many homeless pitbulls already it's nauseating.

[–]sighsorry -1 points0 points ago

Hey! Debbie Downer here. Why breed pitbulls when there are hundreds of them put down in shelters every day? Seriously.

Edit - Just noticed that other people have commented on this as well. And while I think that some of you have interesting rebuttals, I just can't help but still be anti-breeding when I know how many good, loving dogs are put down for no reason other than no one will adopt them.

[–]ViciousPuddin 6 points7 points ago

Amen. Check out petfinder and the SPCA ANY day of the week. They're full to the brim with pits. They are euthanized in droves because morons refuse to adopt shelter dogs...and instead go to shitty backyard breeders who are just scamming ignorant people out of money. There is literally NO reason to breed pits, and I LOVE pits... they're fantastic dogs.
