This joke was funnier most of a decade ago when Richard Jeni first told it, and the internet was a little newer.

This is both the best thing and the worst thing about the internet. On one hand, people who felt alone can find those who think like them or share their difficulties, something that can be incredibly valuable for those in small environments or those with rare issues.

On the other hand, some people believe things or like things that they should be shamed into repressing, such as pedophiles, violent religious extremists, or people who like Rebecca Black. The internet allows them to feel a normalcy and a sense of support they wouldn't have if they could only interact with those physically near them.
