Those are most likely caterpillars.

It's spiders. They were forced into the trees by flooding.

They're caterpillars.

I believe those are tent caterpillars. I do remember reading something about how it's a pic of spiders after flooding, but also reading something else about how that wasn't true. Regardless, tent caterpillars en masse like that are equally as nope-inducing as spiders. They are also known to defoliate trees when their numbers get that high, which would make them more harmful than if they were spiders.

We had some tent caterpillars in a tree once when I was younger. I remember asking my dad how you got rid of them and he told me you burn their web. They're still really creepy-crawly.

That's not a spider web. They are gypsy moth caterpillars. They tend to incase a tree in their webs, and then devour and destroy the tree. Only way to get rid of them is by fire. Had em in my trees a few yrs back and my dad had to light the webs on fire.

Trees shrouded in ghostly cocoons line the edges of a submerged farm field in the Pakistani village of Sindh, where 2010's massive floods drove millions of spiders and possibly other insects into the trees to spin their webs and to escape the rising flood waters. Locals say there are now fewer mosquitos reducing the risk of malaria.
