There was this little black-and-white, fuzzy spider that would crawl around on my computer while I was browsing. A couple of times I let it crawl around on my hand. Just this last Monday I found it curled up dead on my desk. It made me mourn a spider.

No! Don't run away! By the time you get back with the fly spray it will have disappeared, and the only thing worse than finding a spider is losing a spider! Your best bet is to squish it right then and there.

I was once reading in bed and saw a spider crawling up the side of my night stand. It was fairly large and scared the shit out of me. I spent the next two hours staring it down, trying to decide how to handle it. Every time it moved in that disgusting un-natural way, my skin crawled, and I recoiled in horror. Going to sleep wasn't an option, of course. I'm not going to turn off the lights and put myself in a completely vulnerable position with a spider 20cm away from my face. I eventually fashioned a spider catching contraption out of a yogurt container and a CD (in its jewel case) I didn't like anymore. I trapped it between the two once it had crawled onto the top of my night stand, picked up the trap, ran to the bathroom screaming like a girl, and dumped everything in the toilet. I ended up crushing everything with a plunger and flushing everything down the toilet... the spider along with it, thankfully. By the time all this had happened, it was something like 3am. I returned to bed, ready to rest. I ended up dreaming about spiders for the remainder of the night, waking up totally freaked out about once every 20 minutes.

I really hate spiders.
